realizing page 27 was probably the most unfortunate possible page to cut off posting on, oops. well. maybe i can post something interesting on comicfury to make up for it

so now that tumblr has come clean about its intentions of selling user data to openai and midjourney, i am making the decision to cease posting pages here. i won't delete pages i've already posted - if they've been scraped already, there's not much i can do to un-scrape them - but if you want more, you can subscribe to/bookmark the comic on comicfury here. i have pages up to 30 complete, which is 3 more than the 27 i've posted here, but the comicfury queue is one page a day and only 2 pages are up so far. i might speed up the queue now that i know i won't post here anymore, though.

if tumblr goes through with this supposed midjourney deal, i will probably cease posting the comic here, and will consider deleting pages and other art i've already posted. i might post downscaled pages to a neocities account (keep in mind that pages on tumblr are already downscaled by default).

the more i look at 27 the more dissatisfied i am with it but thats a symptom of me maybe caring just a little bit too much. i should go back to page 2 and bitch about that one instead or something. point of making this comic isnt to "make something amazing", its to "Fucking make something for gods sake". best not to forget that

re 25-26 (because they seem kind of odd on their own): despite all the time he's spent watching humanity, deku's not especially aware that humans can't hold their breath for very long... and in his panic, with his own injury, he's not thinking especially rationally. his first priority is escaping their assailants - which he pursues urgently. he can't think about rody's immediate needs without first addressing the threat on both their lives. once he realizes rody is unresponsive, he makes way toward the surface.
