also sorry im p sure nobody is here on my blog and idk if people still tag triggers (something i support) and (somehow) u cannot edit posts on here so i did forget to tag that last post thoroughly but i can and will try to in the future

i think one of the things that speaks the loudest about the character of my parents is that somehow ive never seen them gently caress any animal (let alone either of us) despite the fact that we usually always had several pets of different kinds. im 26 now and i this is the first time ive had a cat fully reach mid adulthood. they would always "run away" or die horrifically of preventable illness. i mean i probably lived with one of them for about 20 years cumulatively and like....in all that time...not one forehead kiss, not one under ear scratch.... they were just like objects to them and as soon as they couldnt act how they were supposed to they were cast out of the light of their "love". and we were that to them too. they used to ask, when i got older and moved out and got a cat of my own, how i "picked such a good cat." my friend i did not pick him, he is not a good cat, he is just a cat. and i have invested in his trust and worked to make him feel safe around me and it has opened up parts of him to me that will never be available to you.
