How long has it been since youâve really asked your Lord for something? Not just the last perfunctory Salah you checked off the listâhow long has it been since youâve *really* talked to your Lord?
Since youâve asked Him from the bottom of your heart for your health, wealth, happiness, for the safety and security of your family, and friends, and all those youâve loved?
Since youâve raised your hands to the heavens to ask for the success of your kids, and the health of your parents?
Since youâve really talked to Him about your hopes and fears, about the quiet thoughts that keep you up at night, no matter how large or small they may seemâabout the exam youâre not sure youâre going to pass, or the job youâre dying to get?
What about the Hereafter? Have you raised your hands to the sky to ask for houses in Paradise next to the friends you spend your days with?
Have you asked for the forgiveness of yourself, your family, and your friends, and for the guidance of the people you love and respect who havenât yet found this Deen?
Have you asked to be raised in the company of the men and women who youâve read about in the history booksâthe icons and trailblazers who are integral to who we areâthe Prophets and their companions?
Have you asked to have the honor of spending an eternity with your spouse exploring and enjoying the gardens and rivers of Paradise, which are unlike anything youâve ever seen?
