Have you asked for the forgiveness of yourself, your family, and your friends, and for the guidance of the people you love and respect who haven’t yet found this Deen?

Have you asked to be raised in the company of the men and women who you’ve read about in the history books—the icons and trailblazers who are integral to who we are—the Prophets and their companions?

Have you asked to have the honor of spending an eternity with your spouse exploring and enjoying the gardens and rivers of Paradise, which are unlike anything you’ve ever seen?

Cinderella as a trans woman. Now that would be interesting. Especially if you make her stepmother and step sisters transphobic? It would explain why they didn’t recognize her at the ball because they don’t SEE HER as a woman. It would explain the shoe situation because AMAB people biologically have bigger feet. So the shoes wouldn’t fit anyone else, but because she naturally has larger feet, they would fit her. I’m also thinking of how her stepmother says like “oh these are the only women in the house it’s just my daughters” because like transphobia you know. But then the prince sees Cinderella and is like. There’s a woman right there tho. A Disney prince who doesnt care if Cinderella is trans or not, because that’s the girl he loves. Now obviously I would only want to see this green lit with multiple trans people writing/directing/producing it, and only if they would cast Cinderella as a trans woman actress. If you want to do that, you need to do it right.

But tell me how special that would be for kids. Kids who are discovering their gender identity and being able to go “look she’s like me!”. Breaking the stereotypes of what princesses have to be, and making a clear statement that trans women ARE WOMEN. Normalizing trans women in the media in a way that allows them to be seen as feminine and desirable. Normalize trans women being able to lead normal and happy lives with people who support them. Something that isn’t a toxic stereotype. Cause I could get all behind that.

And listen. I haven’t seen this remake I’ve only seen clips and the trailer but like. It feels like it’s just. A mockery of the community I guess? Like casting the fairy godmother as an incredibly stereotypical gay guy just. Feels like it’s perpetuating bad stereotypes. Like I see what they’re doing but like. We’ve moved past this, we can and SHOULD have actual good rep now. I’m tired of only getting stereotypical rep if we get any at all.
