he already hoards tons of different trinkets, odds and ends, leftovers from projects and all that "maybe it'll come in handy" junk. I bet a lightbulb went on in his head when he heard about scrapbooks.
He doesn't have to go by any rules, he just goes and follows whatever makes it fun. Most of his scrapbooks consist of fabric scraps, marker and crayon drawings, taped wires and nuts and possibly glitter glue.
Sometimes he'll gather whatever scrap he deemed worthy of disposing from his "useful stuff' pile and make them into metal collages or small welded sculptures, he's actually found a neat trick to make a chicken from few nuts and a screw. He often leaves those hidden around Prowl's room for him to find, Prowl hasn't said anything yet but every chicken he finds ends up on a windowsill display.
He once welded a syringe from bolts and spare nails and slipped it in Ratchet's toolbox, needless to say he accidentally almost got a taste of his own medicine the next time he was in medbay.
