And, well, there was this girl who I used to be friends with, Laura, me and her had been best friends since first grade, she lived close by, and still does, so I’d go to her house as much as possible or she’d come over to my house, we were really close and we used to do everything together.

We were close the beginning of freshman year, we were excited to be high schoolers and had so many plans about what we wanted to do that year and who we wanted to be. But we started drifting apart a little and by the middle of freshman year she dumped me to hang with the popular crowd, she was so rude about it too! I was really distraught to just lose my best and only friend so suddenly, but I did eventually meet AJ so things are better now.

I found this old photo of us that I took the first day of school. God I look so weird… Laura was always the prettier one out of us, but she used to be so sweet and now she’s just a bully who loves antagonizing me. I don’t even know why she suddenly changed, it was like a switch flipped.

Millie wanted to be a ballerina when she was younger and made the mistake of telling her mom about it, her mom told her that she’d likely never be a ballerina given her robotic leg and told her to “be realistic”, Millie was 6 at the time. Since then she has never told her mom anything about what kind of job she’d want

Millie loves this specific brand of mini cake snacks and she always buys them with the money she gets from her part time job, unfortunately for her, so does Nino and he always steals hers

She HATES being home when her parents argue, while it’s kind of uncommon for her parents to argue it’s a bit scary when they do (mostly because their dad is LOUD when he yells), she’ll sometimes sneak out and just go to Nino’s place when she can’t stand it

Millie is disturbingly independent for a 16 year old, she tends to take care of basically everything herself

I’m being so serious, I love Nino but GOOD LORD is he annoying sometimes. Outside of the general teasing when it comes to my awkward personality and weird sleep schedule from studying (which I KNOW he’s not talking Mr. I-stay-up-late-until-2AM-doing-god-knows-what) he is really overprotective of me, especially when it comes to guys my age (which, by the way, I have no big interest in romance whatsoever, I have to focus on my grades so I get into a good university), like- just last week I was talking to this jock guy who I got partnered up with for science and Nino swung by to pick me up (cause he does that sometimes, I usually take the bus too and from school) and I swear to god he was glaring at the guy like he insulted our entire bloodline.

But, as annoying as Nino is (which is really annoying), I don’t hate him. He’s nice when he’s not being an idiot (which is most of the time), and I know he’s overprotective cause he cares, even if it’s really annoying most of the time. He’ll bring me food when mom and dad are busy at work and I have to fend for myself, which is most of the time since they’re always busy working, and if I’m gonna be honest he’s been more emotionally available with me than our parents have (they both probably mentally checked out once I was born).

I’m not saying I hate him, I don’t, I think Nino is cool, I’m just saying he’s a very overprotective idiot who’s fallen down the stairs in our house at least eight times whenever he visits. I’m surprised he hasn’t broken anything, yet.
