nov 29th 😭😭 I used to be so Normal about everything and I thought the pitt fandom was so sweet and nice! literally why am I letting stupid shit stress me out to the point where my character opinions get so convoluted and all or nothing. part of me feels like I can't even vocally like samira because I also like robby and like wtfffff 😭😭
when I actually watch the pitt and don't get wrapped up in fandom drama I find there's not a single character I dislike. there's actions I disagree with, that I don't "condone"... but like why tf does it matter? it's a character. they're all good fucking characters. why am I so scared to enjoy all sides of the pitt just because some parts of the fandom feel clique-y and vitriolic. my enjoyment doesn't have to fit into a box. multiple things can be true at once. why did I let my viewership get so negative. even I've fallen into "picking sides" territory with characters which I usually hate when people do that.
it's just become so moralized. if you like this character, you're a bad person, if you like this character, you're a good person. this ship is morally superior to this ship. this ship is buzzier, this character is less flawed, etc etc etc. people stating opinions as fact. I'm not trying to take the moral high ground on a TV show. even if I did disagree with how things were handled (and I DO disagree with how some things are handled), the pitt has put good in the world. the people working on the pitt are doing actual activism. a tumblr crit post will never amount to anything other than bringing me and others stress.
