Something I find strangely satisfying with the little Incredibles fandom we've made is that no one is debating over the general design of Gamma Jack's outfit. I love it when people headcanon designs for characters when we don't know much about them, but somehow the LEGO Incredibles game gave us a design we're all pretty content with, and that's refreshing in fandom spaces.
At the same time, a LEGO game is the only media we have that gives us a clue about what Jack's outfit and color scheme was?? This is where we got more information about him?? I wonder what we would have come up with if he wasn't in the game. I honestly didn't expect his color pallet to be gold and dark blue, and I also didn't think he was blonde, but I genuinely like it after seeing it.
A moot of mine were debating that gamma jack in a different timeline could've been purple because irl the Gamma radiation is purple (and invisible for the eye)
Gammajack nation do whatever yall want w thay information

The Incredibles2 - Gazerbeam's Memorial Service (Deleted scene)
A 'analysis' (excuse to yap) about this scene
Before you start reading, please note that my English isn't the best. I apologize for any spelling mistakes. Also, this post is not only about analyzing but also about ""explaining"" and discussing this deleted scene from the second movie. I highly recommend watching it before reading this post. thanks 4 your time! <3
Something I've always loved about The Incredibles is the way they explore and talk about their characters. This deleted scene is only 3:50 minutes long and yet it set everything so nicely. I think it does so many things right that it makes me angry it never made it into the movie.
The first thing it does is indicate the mood of the scene; it's not a funeral, it's a memorial.
"A memorial is an object, place, event, or structure designed to preserve the memory of a person or a historical event"
Is not a memorial For Gazerbeam, all the contrary its for all the fallen superheros by Syndrome Hand and yet they decided to start and talk about - not Gazerbeam - Simon Paladino, this first scene its about Simon Paladino
[00:00:01] - [00:00:36]
" Being a superhero was never easy for Simon Paladino. He was a serious, eccentric guy who wasn't naturally attractive. He didn't understand jokes or how to comfort people, and of course, there were his eyes. Crazy light blue eyes that could see with astonishing detail through many surfaces, and if he focused them properly, could burn through solid metal. These unsettling eyes, plus an unsociable personality, made for an outcast. "
With this brief dialogue, we already understand quite a bit about Simon's character. He's not particularly social, much less someone who enjoys eye contact , and yet you understand him immediately. His power and his problem are established right away, as he tries to fit in society, other people tend to exclude him, not out of spite much less is out of social interactions â he's eccentric,he didn't understand jokes, didn't knew how to comfort people, He is a outcast â i like to read that he was part of a minority (undiagnosed autism/closeted Homosexual) even if it not pointed with a red circle in my face non the less that is just a interpretationâ
[00:00:38] - [00:00:55]
" We had heard about them and approached him. We had to convince him to become a superhero. "Look, Laser Eyes, you'll only fit in if you do the same thing we do: turn your weirdness into an advantage." "Announce it with a cool name and a costume, and wear them with pride."
Here they establish something with the supes; I feel that although the public sees them as heroes, I'm pretty sure the government and even they themselves saw themselves as 'outsiders'. They immediately tried to recruit Simon as soon as they heard about him, and I find that even endearing. In a way, Simon doesn't have the 'need' to join, but I'll talk about that a little later. The point is that this scene marks were Simon ends and were Gazerbeam borns
[00:01:12] - [00:01:36]
" But he liked that we took an interest in him, giving him names and discussing them. We had a club. The first club that wanted him as a member, and he accepted. Everything. Us, the suit, and the name " Gazerbeam. " He even came to say it with a certain pride... Eventually, he became a first-rate crime fighter, and for a while, he fit in. We all did. "
This is the point I wanted to get. Simon never exactly needed to fit in, but he did need to belong somewhere. The first club that wanted him as a member. Simon could have easily said no, but why wouldn't he? For the first time in forever, he had found a place to belong outside of his civilian life. he loved being a Super. His life as a lawyer before the ban might have become monotonous and lonely, but when he was introduced to a community, his first real community were he got to be Himself, he never rejected it. Simon never rejects the idea of it, non did Mr.Incredible, or Frozone, or Gamma Jack, or any other super
That was their community, their responsibility, one that the choose to be part of, all of them needed to be super one way or the other
...
[00:01:37] - [00:02:05]
" When it all ended and we had to go underground, he used his alter ego to fight for superhero rights. But he had trouble adjusting to civilian life. His problem is common among superheroes. "
" He had got up for to being useful. He needed to be useful. "
" A bad man exploited that desire, that weakness, to lure Gazerbeam and other superheroes individually and secretly, only to kill them one by one. "
Oh boy this one is heavy
This part finally connects with the hole memorial with the other Superheroes, because no matter how different they were in life, most of them sadly suffered from two factors: the difficulty of returning/adapting to civilian life, and the fact that most of them ended up with the same fate.
Im sure that non super was happy with the ban, I belive that most of then didn't even got a say on the hole thing considering that even if they were like gods on earth they were still just human beings and somehow a minority
"He had got up for to being useful. He needed to be useful"
This is my fav part - Aqui me voy a proyectar
I'm going to talk a little about my experience in this part, but the need to be helpful/useful is something that makes me relate to Gazerbeam so much. I feel like the idea of ââsomeone helping just for the sake of helping looks ridiculous to most people, even selfish at best
The need of being helpful can come from various reasons, trauma, unsolved problems, people pleaser, abandoning issues and a lot more, but there's a difference between being and needing to be
Some people have the spirit to help other no matter what (a good example is Superma) because of their beliefs, their need to help comes solid from a Societal/religious/philosophical Beliefs
But being useful its another word, being useful is the necessity of giving yourself some sort of value but most people need to be useful, they need to have a value to feel that their existence is validated, that need of feeling of needing to give some sort of value base on what you give to other its a Personal/Core Beliefs
Returning to the main quote,
" A bad man exploited that desire, that weakness, to lure Gazerbeam and other superheroes individually and secretly, only to kill them one by one. "
that dialogue just comes to show the real reason most heroes went to Nomanisan Island. I doubt it wasn't just to return to their glory days; most likely, deep down, they felt they weren't doing or contributing anything to society by staying in the shadows, and getting the chance to return to their superhero lives was something they couldn't deny (although most likely each superhero was sold a different lie to get them to go to the island, even so, the feeling doesn't change). And not only that it show you the real treat and villain Syndrom was, its actually really mess up when you think more of it
[00:02:10] - [00:02:22]
" I too was drawn in and almost became another victim were it not for a clue Gazerbeam heroically left in his final moments. This nightmare was far worse because all of us Supers were, and still are, in hiding. "
MY HUSBAND đ MI ESPOSO NOOOOO đ
before endings â This is where they finish talking about Gazerbeam in essence. There are still the last few minutes of Mr. Incredible giving a talk that I find very interesting, although I don't see myself breaking down that part properly because it's midnight and I have to go and grab my graduation gown at 8 am cuz my HS hates me. But if this post does well, I'll go deeper into more of the deleted scenes of The Incredibles (I found deleted scenes of Violet and I love them; I want to talk about her and other NSA audios that catch my attention). for now here is my last part of this post
This part reflects Gazerbeam so well; the idea of ââdying alone is downright horrible, but something I wanted to point out is that even though Gazerbeam was badly injured, he could have use his last breaths and try to save himself. On one hand, it could be that he knew it was his end, but on the other, I interpret that he decided to use his last breaths to write the password.
In one way it's a heroic act of selflessness, but in another it's Gazerbeam accepting his end and even in his last moments thinking about how he could help even in his last moments, demonstrating between the lines the kind of person he was.
He died alone, in a cave, wounded, lured by promises of being able to help and punished for being different in the eyes of societyâthe same society that loved Gazerbeam and despised Simon, the man who, like his compatriots, only wanted to belong. Something that reflects this is the comparison between the first and last scenes of the Memorial.
We start getting to know Simon and then we see Gazerbeam die. We are at the Gazerbeam Memorial, not at Simon's funeral. Like all the heroes, we are at their memorial, not their funeral. We don't know the other identities because, in a way, they were all like Simon; their secret identities die with them.
The scene shows you that even though they are burying the suit, they are also burying the person who wore it, forever anonymous but forever love enough to warrant a memorial.
It's raw, but I really like the last part where Mr. Incredible speaks, too much to leave it out of this post. (look i even make a terrible quality Gif)
" This nightmare was made much worse by the fact that we supers were all, and are all still, in hiding. "
" Being separate, being hidden, weakens us. Every one of us are engines with energy to burn. "
" Engines don't like to idle. They want to be used. If you block energy from driving us forward, the same energy will gladly drive us backward. "
" As a society, we must always support what is best in us. If someone wants to help, we should embrace that desire, encourage it, fan it into a flame, and look to the young to be inspired enough to take up the fight. We look to the day when supers are invited to rejoin society. "
" Until then, we'll hide and wait for our next chance to do good. "
" Now let's take a moment to remember Gazerbeam, Stormicide, Psychwave, Vectress, Everseer, Macroburst, Flange, Blazestone, Downburst, Hypershock, Apogee, Blitzerman, Tradewind, Gamma Jack, and all of the other heroes we lost in this tragedy. All of the supers who died wanting only to help "
I recommend you do your own analysis of this section. I want to hear more people talk about it and give their opinions. Until then, I'm going to sleep before this post doesn't save and I have to rewrite everything again.
P.S.: This is my first post, so please bear with me đ If there were parts where I didn't explain myself well, please let me know. This post was more of an excuse to talk about Gazerbeam.

-Oof...uhm...those stats really don't help ya bud...also how the fuck did you tank a laser to the chest long enough to write the password with that kind of indestructibility?!
-At least he makes up for it in intelligence and endurance
-Honestly those stats make sense given that he is a lawyer...not much muscle to go off of.
-This actually makes me think he's actually near-sighted because of his helmet. He does canonically wear glasses while not in costume. Which makes the whole 'can't maintain eye contact' worse because he literally has to squint in order to see.
-As for his powers, it's clear that he doesn't have any limits to his range compared to Dynaguy, I firmly believe the NSA just made him the replacement because Gazerbeam and Dynaguy's powers were similar enough.
-Weakness is reflective surfaces, so either he ends up shooting himself if he looks himself in the mirror or they cancel out his abilities.
-Yeah he's...definitely near-sighted poor Gazerbeam, as if having powers that literally requires you to focus your vision was hard enough. Maybe the glasses also cancel out his powers? Idk.
-In the Elastigirl Prequel, Elastigirl states she doesn't know what happened to the Thrilling Chopper so it's unknown if he still has this vehicle, but judging by the fact that Bob's car was sold off into auction I think something similar happened to the Chopper.
-That intelligent stat deserves that height, guy's a lawyer.
-'A man of humor' but his NSA file says he doesn't have one, so as if Communication skills were bad enough. My guy I feel so bad for you man.
Others:
-His voice is so soothing.
-I like though he keeps it vague, he does express that The Thrilling Three broke off because of communication issues and I think he does blame himself for that regard.
-Notice how unlike Apogee, Gazerbeam doesn't address the group negatively, he doesn't even address anything negative about it, just that they had communication issues and some things didn't mix. Though Phylange also doesn't do this which makes me believe that the fallout was something between Apogee and Gazerbeam.
-If only he didnât die before Reeses were made.
-Poor man, I personally don't think eye contact is really THAT necessary in communication, but I think its understandable that people think he seems uninterested. But he's genuinely nice since in the Elastigirl Prequel he goes ahead and plays table tennis (I think?) With Blazestone.
-Get this poor man a dog my god.
-But yeah, If I was near-sighted and my ability REQUIRED me to focus my gaze in order to activate it, I'd personally find ways in order to avoid such a thing from happening.
-Dude just lived a sad life overall, but I'm glad he was able to make the most of it, being friends with Bob and literally advocating for Supers Rights.
-I think I should also add insight to the Deleted Scene because that mainly focuses on Gazerbeam. But it shows that GB was generally a kind dude.
-Guy just wanted to help, it's probably the reason he became a lawyer in the first place. I actually want to know how he found out the password.
-But the fact that he canonically has blue eyes and has THAT design for his Secret Identity isn't beating the Clark Kent allegations. Clark Kent but if he became a lawyer instead.
-But damn going so far as to keep the name BOB gave him. That is so fucking sad. what the fuck.
-'View point' is also a good name Bob screw you.
-Seriously Gamma Jack was just running through the streets? Dude can fly, I'm guessing they all slowed down to let Gazerbeam shine which honestly is sweet.
-Dude was also not wanting to be found, he just wanted to make sure Syndrome's plan didn't succeed, so I honestly think Gazerbeam doesn't have that strong of a self-esteem.
-Damn why didn't they rework the Deleted Scene???? Justice for Gazerbeam!
Headcanons:
-Lawyer and Leader are two different things, probably why Gazerbeam couldn't lead a team.
-Had a strong sense of justice, if he even sensed an ounce of corruption in any case he wouldnât accept it, it's why he became well-known before the whole Supers Rights.
-Most communication issues regarded him with either being too agreeable or disagreeable which led to the fallout of The Thrilling Three. Gazerbeam was either a 'pushover' or 'too assertive' which often caused problems. It didn't help that he struggled with eye contact.
-I like to think the only person who had at least a bit of resistance to his beams was Bob, which is why they were close, he was the only one he could communicate properly with, without disintigrating him.
-Personally I believe the glasses are a way to cancel his powers, and the visors actually made it harder for him to cancel it out.
-Has accidentally blinded himself more than once by his own beams, probably why his eyesight is shitty. Since Supers are immune to their own powers he's lucky it didn't kill him (Based on the wiki)
-Avoids looking at Hypershock's helmet because of this. Hypershock didn't realize it until he openly expressed himself in a bar with Downburst and Phylange.
-Still has a good relationship with Phylange, but avoids him because he thinks he's hurting Phylange by acting like Dynaguy's replacement.
-Fallout between Apogee and Him was much more hurtful in his perspective, perhaps in his memories he would recall Apogee saying along the lines about him being a replacement.
-Feels inferior to Dynaguy because of this, often compares himself to him.
-Good friends with Downburst, they drink together when Gazerbeam's usual group is busy.
-A very verbally aggressive drunk, very irritable, he used to drink just to vent his frustrations as a lawyer but it quickly became a habit, also incredibly honest about his emotions because he's quite fearless when drunk.
-If you let him drink enough he might start singing karaoke I don't know.
-Phylange once found him in a bar openly venting his own frustrations and kinda pitied him a little and soon the two were able to understand each other more. He didnât recognize him at first because he was in his civilian attire but the moment he said 'lasers out of my eyes' Phylange connected the dots.
-Hypershock often joins him when he's alone drinking. They don't even go to the same bar. He just says 'I need a drink' and Hypershock is like 'Oh shit gotta look after him' cause Gazerbeam can be quite chaotic when drunk.
-High tolerance to alcohol because of this.
-The Incrediboys (I'm calling it FIGG) often drink together (except Gamma Jack) and challenge each other to drinking contests and so far he's the only one who can go toe-to-toe with Mr.Incredible.
-Drinks black coffee.
-Has defended other Supers before and almost got caught by most of them.
-He avoids Psycwave and Everseer even as Simon. He finds conversations with them awkward and as Simon he avoids them because of telepathy.
-Self-esteem issues.
-Gets along with Macroburst. When he saw Project:Kronos his heart completely broke.
-As much as he would like to...he didnât maintain contact with the rest of the Supers due to his busy life as a lawyer and a Superhero Rights Activist (Dude seriously this movie treats Supers like a marginalized group, what Syndrome is doing is straight up genocide.)
-Downburst maintained contact with him though and when he disappeared that's when Gazerbeam found things suspicious. When he went to the island, he managed to somehow retrace Everseer and Macroburst's steps and find the password. (Maybe it was out of habit?)
-Pretty much his final thoughts were to eventually save everyone, he didn't care if he died, just as long as no one else ended up dying after him.
-It took months for people to find out he was missing because he had a habit of disappearing at times. It was only until he was gone for much longer did they announce he was missing.
-Would've absolutely loved Jack-Jack.
-Has only met Violet once and never again, both Bob and Simon had struggled to maintain contact after a while.
The Enduring Dame, Apogee! A Solar Spokesperson who's side hustle is Super-ing!
The Phylange - x
I had LOTS of fun making this for Gee, She's such a fun character to work with. Unlike with Phylange, I gave her a full mask-off look in her Super outfit because she's really fun to draw. In her civilian outfit, I gave her a driving hat/bonnet and driving gloves, because I feel she's the type of person to wear them. Someone drew her in BRIGHT yellow and I loved that design so much- so I wanted to nod to it by making her civilian clothes be a nice bright color as well.
On page 73 of the Elastic Girl prequel book- A REAL stretch, its revealed that Apogee's secret identity is "a spokesperson for the benefits of solar energy". I'm taking that to refer to her secret civilian identity, because we don't get much on that. Speaking of the book!! Sheâs very social in that, so I wanted to include as many other Superâs names as possible!!
vv Refs I used for this under the cut! vv
Here are some headcanons I have for her, most aren't based on anything, but I still like them! I had fun thinking about her and working on shaping out her character!
My headcanon for her civilian name is Janet Astrid (no last name yet). Janet is a reference to the School House Rock Interplanet Janet song, haha.
Besides Dynaguy and Phylange, who have been dubbed "her boys" affectionately, she hangs out the most with Meta Man, Elasti-Girl, and Blazestone. She's fairly friendly with everyone, just watch out for her talking behind your back with The Phylange
Meta Man was the closest thing to the Thrilling Three's mentor, so they are all very close with him. Apogee is the closest, however, due to her getting her powers at a fairly young age (like... 7, maybe 10 at the oldest) and them having the most time to bond
She has a brotherly relationship with both her boys and can get whatever she wants out of both fairly easily
On the note of her boys, I picture Apogee in blue! Specifically because it makes The original Thrilling Three the RYB colors set- which I really love. It also makes it even more noticeable when Gazerbeam replaces Dynaguy- he's this dark color-clad outsider against her and The Phylange's bright colors
... I'll stop with the colors now lol
Jumping to the Thrilling Three's break-up, when it eventually happens I think it would be fun to give Apogee the chopper. Yes, I know she can fly and yes, I previously stated that I think the chopper was originally given as a gift to The Phylange from Downburst, I want Apogee to have it
It's useful to her on off days when she has powers charged from the sun, but she has to conserve her energy for fighting and not use it on flight
She's on TOP of fashion and actually goes to Edna the most out of all the other supers to make sure she's keeping up with looks, however she always keeps her helmet and color scheme to make herself easily recognizable
Apogee also has to always be doing SOMETHING! Talking, reading, sewing, it doesn't matter. As long as she's moving she won't go crazy
She likes how fast Blazestone can talk, which is why she tends to hang out a lot with her. On the contrary, Gazerbeam talks too slowly for her liking
â"I still can't figure out how to draw that angle."
âI've been trying for hours, but I still can't. It's kind of depressing, mostly knowing what that boy..."
âAre you still thinking about Buddy and his AI? You know it's not art, it can't affect us.â
âAny cathedral with uneven angles that you draw is a thousand times more valuable than any of Buddy's garbage.â
"That's what the club is for, no? Nothing Stops Art."
âYeah, you're right"
HehehehehehE, @dawnthefox24, Sorry, I had to do it when this idea was discussed whxysyjds. My drawings don't do the characters or the message justice, but oh well. Screw the damn AI and long live Gammabeam. I love this AU.

As much as I love Incredibles 2 for what it is Iâm kind of miffed they didnât find some way to miraculously bring this jerk back from the dead and make him the villainÂ
According to Wiki and the NSA Supers Database on the special edition DVD of the first movie, this is what it says about Gamma Jack: âEasily recognized by his wave-like hairstyle, he was a favorite of the ladies (his original name being Handsome Jack) and was prone to megalomaniacal impulses, believing Supers to be a âsuperior race.â He chose to save attractive women over and above other innocents and had a particular issue with âkillingâ female supervillains he was attracted to, but always ended up doing so anyway. These impulses and traits caused the NSA great concern, putting him under close âA Levelâ monitoring as a result.â
LikeâŚdamn. Thatâs a potential supervillain in the making right there. I know that according to the KRONOS database he was killed by one of the Omnidroid prototypes, but remember, Syndromeâs life signs probe failed to detect Bob simply because he hid behind Gazerbeamâs skeleton (seriously, what??), and the only reason Bob didnât get away is because Helen later tripped the tracking device on his suit. Considering Syndromeâs tech was flawed enough to completely miss a living human being just because he was hiding, itâs not outside the realm of possibility to assume Gamma Jack could have also survived and just hid out until he figured out a way off the island.Â
So, I know this is just conjecture, but what if he had somehow survived and managed to make it back home? He wouldâve had to change his identity of course to make sure Syndrome didnât locate him again. But given his views on supers and his âmegalomaniacal impulsesâ, both the supers ban and Syndromeâs attempt to completely eradicate them wouldâve not only reinforced his beliefs but also have been the perfect catalysts for this guy to completely go off the deep end and start his own radical campaign against non-supers. âOh, the regular people of the world donât appreciate us and want us to either hide in the shadows or die? Well then, regular people should all die or be subjugated by supersâ - a survival of the fittest kind of thing. It wouldâve been really fascinating to see him re-invent himself and use his charm to work his way up in the world of politics in an attempt to surreptitiously put supers in positions of power so as to dominate the âinferiorâ part of the population, and then ultimately come into conflict with supers like the Incredibles and Frozone, whose primary goal is to use their powers to help others rather than subdue them, despite the fact that they were wronged by the very people theyâre trying to help.Â
Also a super whoâs basically bordering on being a creepy ass serial killer but âwe have to be subtle about it because Disneyâ? Sign me the hell up.Â
Idk, I think itâs a compelling story that couldâve been told, or still could be told if Brad ever decides to just suck it up and make a third film. Just throwing it out there *COUGH*
