This is from a headcanon I have for Hunter based on that scene from the book where he and Phee are walking around Pabu
I think that Hunter floats aimlessly in the water while basking in the weather to unwind. That he lays and feels all of the slight changes in the water’s current and temperature. That he lets the sea breeze dampen the skin above the water and then feels the change of winds on his misted face. That he listens to all the warbled sounds under the water of fish moving and boats crawling. That he smells the salty, fishy air. And that he just lets all of his senses do what they want as he drifts away, only moving if he needs to. I like to think he becomes so still that fish don’t realize he’s alive, and that he can just graze them as he wishes without their notice.

Anyhow, I thought it would be cool to have the three most important steps next to each other. I tried not to go overboard with it, but next time I‘ll probably either do more details in the colours or way more details in the lineart. Including more shading.

I got back into Skyrim recently. Downloaded a bunch of mods (well, I'm on PS so probably not nearly as much as even the most normal PC player, but still). And I discovered that, while Skyrim can be vibrant and awe-inspiring, I prefer gloom-and-doom Skyrim. There's beauty in decay and ruin, you know?
Of course I play as argonian. It's the best race in TES and I can't take feedback on that, I'm afraid. Anyhow! Hope you're keeping moist. And maybe drop me some mod recommendations if you happen to come across this post? 💚
I think I found a color scheme I like. Originally, I was aiming for a dramatic sunset but it wasn‘t working with the composition. Doesn‘t matter all that much, anyhow. Although, now poor Cody has to pick himself up in the dark. Oh well.. Obviously still a WIP, but now that I know the first panel works out I feel a bit more encouraged to do the rest of the chapter. Obviously, I still need to colour details and shadows/ lights but the main thing is down. Any thoughts? I‘d love to hear what everyone is thinking :D
Here‘s a short few sentences from the first chapter as I wrote it down in my first draft:
Slowly, as his vision cleared, the world around him came back into focus. Not that there was much to see. A wasteland to begin with, what was left of the barren landscape was scattered and broken; machinery of war, weapons, bodies. Soldiers of the Empire next to rebels. All silent and dead. Resting, now, against what little fauna the planet had left. Not far from him another trooper lay, motionless and with a blackened hole in his chest plate. One arm extended towards him, as if the trooper had reached for him. Cody turned away from the sight, even if he could not yet escape the horrendous stench of death, and concentrated on the horizon instead.

but I kind of like how it‘s turning out so far. Hopefully, colours will look good too. I have a very specific vision for it in mind. And i‘m a bit scared I will fuck it up lol

I don’t think I have ever sketched in quite this many details in one single drawing.
Over here, sketching a million little details into this shot even tho nobody will look at it for more than five seconds. If anyone will look at it at all.
But not doing it would feel weird, somehow..
Adding a second sketch over my initial sketch is always so nice. I can still see the vision, but now I don‘t have to think so hard anymore and can just add details and proper perspective and everything is just less guesswork. I‘m looking forward to the inks and I‘m already afraid of the colours lol hardest part by far.
Anyhow. Poor Cody. Someone help him up, pls.

If you'd ask the Empire, like Crosshair will do some day, they'll say CC-2224 went AWOL. If you'd ask Cody, which maybe one day his remaining brother will have a chance to do, he'd say it all went to hell on a rather unimportant shit hole of a mining planet and, really, desertion was the only option there was. So, screw them, right?
Fun fact, shortly after he meets a rather weird little boy, his even weirder sister, and someone who will drag him to hell and back and maybe, just maybe, that's just going to save the galaxy. And a couple of Clones. Maybe one particularly sunburned Jedi master. Who knows.
But none of that has happened yet, and right now CC-2224 is bleeding out on some shit hole mining planet he can barely remember the name of.
And yes, its #Codywan and the same AU with Kix getting saved years earlier than canon. Because canon can't hurt us if we ignore it.
In other news, my warm up sketch escalated. That happens sometimes 😅 I'm not mad at it. It's rough around the edges but I think it has potential to look nice. In a couple of hours work, anyhow.
I have this story stuck in my head (and 30k words so far stuck in a first draft lol) about a clone centric post order 66 fix-it AU.
And today I thought I might try and sketch one of the scenes. Beware tho, my sketches are always super rough and kind of bad lol
