What does “The Spectrum” mean? Do some people have “more Autism” than others?

HI so uh, this isn’t my usual sort of post. However my cousin, Jodi, has been struggling to get her younger son Liam into her custody. This is due in part to her ex’s husband’s anti-queer sentiment, as he seems to think Jodi, her wife, and their eldest Alex being around Liam is dangerous due to Jodi and her wife being lesbians + Alex being trans. Jodi’s ex is not a good man, there’s a reason she fought for sole custody in the first place. The only reason Alex was let into Jodi’s custody was due to mental health concerns brought on by the bullying and anti-trans rhetoric he faced in Michigan. Alex and Liam have not seen each other in almost a year. There’s no excuse for keeping Liam away from his mother and older brother. It’s causing unnecessary stress during an already awful year and a bit.
