2014년 인터뷰 당시 박보검은 ‘택이’가 아니었다. “맛집 좋아하나 봐요. 연남동 기사 봤어요.” 촬영을 마치고 인터뷰 장소로 옮기는데, 매니저보다 한 발 앞서 나와 같이 걷던 박보검이 물었다. 많은 배우가 많은 기자를 만난다. 그중에서 인터뷰할 기자의 이름을 매니저에게 물어 그 기자의 기사를 훑어본 후 자리에 나오는 배우가 얼마나 될까? 적어도 내가 만난 배우 중에서는 박보검이 처음이었고 마지막이었다. 싹싹한 신인 배우의 제스처로 보일 수도 있겠지만, 그렇다 하더라도 혹은 그렇다면 더더욱 박보검은 짧지 않은 시간 동안 마주하는 사람에 대한 예의를 잘 알고 있다는 생각이 들었다.

인터뷰를 마치고 든 감정은 충격에 가까웠다. 어떻게 사람이 이렇게 착하고 반듯하고 긍정적일 수가 있을까? 무려 저렇게 생긴 사람이. 충격의 감정을 되짚어 기사를 쓰고 맨 마지막에 ‘사랑하지 않을 수 없다’란 제목을 단 이유다. 박보검은 올해 외모도 연기력도 더 발전할 거다. 그리고 많은 자리를 꿰찰 것이다. 박보검을 만난 모든 사람이 입을 모아 ‘사랑하지 않을 수 없다’고 말하고 있으니까. _김소영(프리랜서)

At the time of the 2014 interview, Park Bogum wasn’t ‘Taek-ie’. “It seems like you’re a foodie (like going to restaurants with good food). I read your article on Yeonnam-dong.” asked Park Bogum who was walking one step ahead of his manager and alongside me, while we were moving interview locations after wrapping up the filming. Many actors meet many reporters. But among them, how many ask their manager for the name of the reporter who will be conducting the interview, and turn up after looking over that reporter’s articles? At least among the actors that I’ve met, Park Bogum was the first and last. While it could be seen as the polite gesture of a rookie actor, and even if that was the case, I can’t help but think that Park Bogum knows full well, about the (common) courtesy (he should show) towards people who you are working with over long period of time.

The feelings I felt after finishing the interview were close to shocking. How can someone be this kind, respectable, and positive? And even more so, someone who looks like that. That is the reason why, after retracing my feelings of shock, I titled my last article ‘You can’t not love him’. Park Bogum will flourish even more in terms of appearance and acting skills this year.
