spent until 5 AM in a total beetle schiz overthinking the Aikka prequel an obscene amount yet I’m so sad because it feels like literally no one else lost their mind over the Blu-ray materials. PLEASE DISCUSS THIS WITH ME I’ve been wanting to headcanon the masked prince's appearance for a long time. What if I actually live to see some extra materials drop, and it turns out I GUESSED something right in his design? I decided to try and match different color schemes with the other princes so that all 5 of them look cohesive together. Since the prince's design features fire, black, and red shades, I wanted to give him black hair. We haven’t had a black-haired Nourasien yet, and I want one SO badly. Also, all the princes have facial tattoos that match their bug companions, so I gave him a forehead tattoo with a pattern like his scolopendra. His hair and parting need to look completely different from the other princes + I decided to mimic the lines of his helmet in his hairstyle. I think making Aikka's main rival in the prequel share Molly’s primary colors (black and red) is so genius. Like, did he have déjà vu when he met Molly for the first time? Like, "Oh, I know someone who looks just like you." AND ALSO, I came up with a little THEORY about this prince. What if they are hiding their face because they are actually... a princess?! Oh my god, a woman on a giant scolopendra and in full armor would be SO badass. So I tried to make shes appearance more androgynous. A princess who secretly decided to enter the princes' tournament to prove she is worthy of competing and claiming the throne? And she almost wins, but they can't finalize the tournament results because right after these events, the Crogs arrive and occupy their planet.
