                                               ❝so how about we go for a beer?❞ ziva offered the man a soft smile, her hand                                                          perched against the back of his chair.                                            ❝i know a place, poison free i promise.❞

❝ careful, keep talking and it’s going to be embarrassing when i get you on the floor. ❞  rosie smirks, suppressing the chuckle in her stomach when her ribs are still aching. instinctively she brings a hand up to her torso.   ❝ yeah, i’d say this episode cured a handful of alcoholism for a good chunk of us. at least for a little while. ❞ rosie nods, taking in ziva’s appearance now.  ❝ good, ❞ she says simply. ❝ it’d be a shame to not have you around. ❞

❝interesting approach, we’ll see how good you really are.❞ her humorous expression was quickly wiped away when she noticed the brunette wince, her instincts kicking in.  ❝mind showing me?❞, she gestured towards her torso. ❝former doctor, at least i can help some.❞

She paused, recognizing something familiar in the other’s tone. That wariness was something she was quite used to. A tiny smile appeared on her lips, in an attempt to put the other at ease. “I’m a journalist. I also do some ‘private’ reporting, trying to give prometheans a voice that’s often forgotten in the big news. The talk right now is about who did what and how that shows how dangerous we are - not about what happened to us there. That’s all I’m aiming for, some story gathering.”

❝ a v o i c e for the PROMETHEANS. how sweet.❞  her lip curled upwards as she spat the words out like they physically disgusted her. in some lifetime she would have welcomed the opportunity of being heard but after what she’d been through, it all seemed like a load of bull. ❝ looking for a story hun? well here’s your big scoop. whoever did this is a lowlife coward who couldn’t take a swing at us on a regular old day so they decided to play their cards and bet on a little roofie that momentarily incapacitated us. clever? i’ll give them that. but by the time you’re printing this on your precious little gazette, i’ll be barbecuing whoever the hell decided to mess with my head to a teensy little crisp.❞

“ it was a bad idea to begin with.  P E A C E  can’t be achieved through one event, especially not one where all problems are ignored. having us all in the one space was asking for trouble. easy targets. ”  he knew how these things worked, had been around it since he was a child. back then powers hadn’t come into play, but crime was still crime with out without them. at her question, he laughed a little bitterly. the ability to heal meant he was able to walk out physically unscathed. you’d think he’d be grateful for such a gift, but no part of him was. he’d like to feel physical pain, maybe it would dilute what was going on inside. “ i’m alright.”

❝let’s be honest here, we all knew what we were getting into. most of us were ready for hell to break loose much earlier in the evening. of course some rat bastard hit us where it hurts most. a COWARD really. incapacitating the ones with a decent fighting chance, it speaks volumes of this guy’s confidence. and really, ALCOHOL? you’d think they’d be more original.❞ ziva scoffed, her brow shooting upwards as she glanced up to meet his eyes. ❝that’s what we all say. i just hope your personal hell wasn’t as vivid as mine.❞

                                            “ tonight wasn’t really a fight against each                                               other. there was no trouble until someone                                               created it. my guess is it’s   probably the                                               assholes who want  RID OF  us all. ” she’s                                               tempted to glance down at burnt hands,                                               but when she does it’s harder to ignore the                                               sting.  “ nothing i can’t handle. and i’m glad                                               to hear that. compared to most, you’re not                                                so bad. i think i’d like it if you lived. ”

                                    ❝well rest assured, your former pals won’t take                                      this lightly. we’re big on revenge, someone will                                    pay for this, blood for blood. ❞ ziva smiled tightly,                                      her hazel orbs focusing on the redheads hands.                                      ❝at least the feelings mutual. don’t go running                                       them under cold water, it won’t help at all. get                                       some sort of cream to ease the burning, doesn’t                                      look to bad. you should be healed in a few days.                                            ibuprofen also helps but take it lightly.❞

‘ This whole WOE IS ME, self pity angle doesn’t work on me. And in my experience I DON’T CARE is usually code for I CARE a fuck ton. So d’you wanna talk about it or d’you wanna shoot the breeze ? ‘

                     ❝and you’d actually be willing to listen? wow                    color me shocked. i’m not really in a talking mood                         i just need a drink and a second to get over                whatever the hell has been going on around here lately.❞

It took a few seconds for sound to start coming out of her mouth, as Ann measured her words, fitting as much as she could inside of one simple question. “What was your experience at the gala?”

❝my experience? oh do you mean before the blinding pain or after the gut wrenching hallucinations.❞ her blazing hazel eyes narrowed as she gave the woman a onceover, analyzing the threat. ❝what’s it to you anyway?❞

“Just answer one of my questions. It’s hard to get the full picture if some people don’t take a step forward.”

❝and what the hell is it that you actually what to know?❞

❝ i’d love to see you try.❞  rosie’s lips curve, opening up her own bottle and bringing the bottle up to her mouth for a quick drink. she shrugs, fleetingly scouring over the burn marks on her arms. ❝  just skin deep wounds and a few cracked ribs. nothing i can’t handle. ❞   there’s blood staining both her skin and clothes but she can’t make out what’s hers and what’s someone else’s.   ❝ i didn’t drink, ❞  she admits letting her fingers tap against the plastic.  ❝ guess i got lucky. how are you though? ❞

❝don’t worry, give me a day to recover and we’ll spar until you’re begging for mercy.❞ ziva laughed softly, wincing slightly as she poured water onto her wounds in the hopes of cleansing them as much as she possibly could given the current situation. ❝ah, that explains it. bless you sober folk. ❞ a soft scoff brushed past her lips, her bright hazel orbs focusing on the brunette. ❝i’ll be fine.❞
