(I've run this poll twice before, expanding it significantly for the second run. With about a year passed since that second run, I thought it was time to add another couple hundred names to the list and have another go.)

when i was 13 i made up a group of ocs who were gifted the ability to teleport but with caveats that made it really irritating for them and everyone else. i can’t remember all of them but two. one of them could only pass from place to place through water. they could jump into something as small as a cup of tea and come out the other side through a puddle or something but notably they did get wet. so any time they teleported anywhere they arrived soaking wet. they had to go everywhere with a waterproof paddling bag as a purse. the other could only teleport between occupied bathrooms. any bathroom in the world was fine but it had to be in use. they could just ask a friend to go in first and cheat it that way but in an emergency they’d just have to barge in on someone with their eyes closed and yell “SORRY! SORRY!” and disappear immediately from existence.

#the last one is my favorite #but this idea has so much potential #person who can teleport only when they perform a concerto flawlessly and get a standing ovation #person maintains their exact pre-teleportation orientation #relative to the axis of the Earth's rotation #oooooh person who can only teleport along her current latitude #paired with a perwon who can only teleport along his current longitude #they can bring people along so working together #they can go anywhere #in a two-step process #but it takes some math and a map #person who can swap locations with anyone else in the world wearing the same brand/style/size of shoes #person who has to write a persuasive essay to the universe every time they want to teleport #and if it's not good enough they can't go #person who can treat walls as portals as long as ☝️they have the exact same paint #do you know how many versions of white paint there are?

The most interesting question you can ask about any character is not what do they want. it's what do they believe they deserve. because those two things are almost never the same and the gap between them is where your entire story lives. a person can want love completely and believe they don't deserve it and that belief will destroy every good thing that comes toward them in ways they won't even notice they're doing. write the gap. the gap is the character.

- The director of the library got back to me after a couple weeks of silence, the patron that wanted to make a donation to the library so i could paint the next mural approved my proposal and fully funded the project for a pricetag that is nearly double my current total bank account

- the Botanical Gardens I worked with before is expanding and they put out a call for work so I emailed them and they apparently have me on a list of artists they wanna work with.

- I reached out to my local zoo to see if they wanted any murals painted literally MONTHS ago and they just got back to me and we set up a zoom call for this thursday to see what could be done
