The architecture reminds me of buildings near Times Square, but not that many hotels have a similar room layout. The closest one I’ve found is the Wyndham Midtown building and the Four Seasons Hotel. This would also be referenced with buildings Happy Elements staff would see on their work trips, or was in the process as Road to Show was produced.

authorial intent, is the author's intent as it encoded in their work. this then follows into authorial intentionalism, which is basically a view that an author's intentions should guide the way a piece of text is interpreted.

enstars is primarily a japanese media, written by what I assume to be japanese writers. this is important since japan has a history of xenophobia which can fuel the poor representation of other cultures, particularly indigenous ones. this could be with their own treatment of the ainu and ryukyuan people in the mainland.

just because the world of enstars is fictional, does not mean the intent isn't. look at how SS arc handles okinawa, not to mention how ibuki taki is handled in general.

since I read the stories with this awareness, it often makes certain issues become more blatantly obvious. it also makes me pay attention to the kinds of favoritism akira had especially to ships like wataei and natsumugi, and also his poor ability to write about other cultures.
