If you have a question about Zeldafront (an online forum based RPG set in the Zelda universe), please send it to us in the message box! It can be anything about the site, the way a forum based RPG works, or what you could do in it!

Starting today this blog will be checked daily, and each and every question will be answered.

Hey, listen up folks! Welcome to our very first episode of Living Legends. Where we sit down with some of the members here on Zeldafront and get a little bit more insight on the experiences and ways that our humble little roleplaying forum can bring. I'm your host Metheus, and our first guest is a extra special one. Say hello to Raeden everybody, he has been on the site all the way from its first incarnation up too what it is now. Without further ado, let the interview begin.

Raeden, How did you Find Zeldafront?

On Altavista, which was the Google of the late 90’s. Zeldafront was just a Dutch Zelda fansite back then. It eventually grew into a community, from which a RP forum sprouted. And died. And sprouted again. Several times, until the current one, which has lasted about 8 years now? Doesn’t look like it’s dying out any time soon either.

Now THERE is a interesting little bit of trivia for you. I find it interesting to see just how the site has changed and all the ways its grown into the community it is today. I personally never knew the site outside its current incarnation. It makes me feel proud in some odd way to be a part of it, and what Zeldafront is going to be in the future. Back then, what made you want to join?

I’ve been into roleplaying since I was 11. I think me and some other Dutch members actually talked the admin of the first ZFRPG into running it, but it’s crazy long ago so my memory might not be accurate. But I joined it the minute it started, and I’ve played on every new incarnation of the ZFRPG ever since.

I personally am something of a late bloomer for roleplaying compared to you, as I only really got into it when I was 16. I was quite bad at first, but have grown as a writer/roleplayer as I have worked with our other members. I’ll never forget how nervous I was when I decided to submit my character to be reviewd, What was the application process like for you? Was it Scary? Easy?

Very easy, but I’ve created over 50 characters for various forum and tabletop RPGs. I think it might be a little harder for less experienced RPers, but the people who check the applications are really good at what they do, they give great feedback and can really help putting a good character together, so there’s no reason for anyone to feel scared.

Yeah, I found that the people working on my review to improve it were very nice. One of them even has even become a good friend of mine. Speaking of which, Have you met any new friends on the site? What would you say is the general ‘mood’ of the people here?

I used to have some good friends among the old Dutch community, but we all went our own ways. Today I’m not so invested in online socializing, but ZF is basically the same as everywhere in life: I get along great with some, I can’t stand others, and everyone else is friendly and polite enough. Overall everyone is pretty intelligent and creative.

Sadly, with any group of people not everyone will get along, but at the very least most members on the site resolve any issues they have politely. I think this is helped somwhat by that everyone comes to the site for basically the same thing; having fun. Overall, what do you think is the best thing about the site?

The quality of the writing of our members, and the ways we support each other to improve our skills. I’ve seen people grow from horrible to incredible writers in their time on ZF, and I think a good part of my own growth as a writer has taken place here as well.

*nods* I sometimes look back on my first draft for my first role play and cringe. Personally, I was without a doubt one of those horrible writers, and still have a long way ahead. The friendly atmosphere and positive criticism has gone a long way in honing my skills. I have read some of your posts, and they really are good. In time I hope to be just as good, but im digressing more than usual here. One last question. What do you want to see from the site in the future?

I think everything is going pretty solid!

At Zeldafront you can make your very own character, with his or her own unique personality and skills. Play a farmhand who dreams of becoming an all-powerful mage. Build a conniving, sinister jailor with a secret love of flamenco dancing. Make a braggart archer whose boasts always get him into trouble. We would love to see what imaginative ideas you can devise! But if you're a little stuck or have too many ideas, we have tons of user made guides and tips for new members, to assist with character creation and beyond. Our members and administrators are always enthusiastic to offer their help, as well.
