Embrace Your Mistakes
When we were young, our minds have been engraved that mistakes are bad. Creating or doing mistakes would lead to consequences and punishments. We would get grounded for touching the cookie jar before it's time for afternoon snacks, or piling up a big mess in your room, or even getting a booboo from riding your bike. Our minds have been tampered with the thought of avoiding mistakes; that we should not do wrong. Most of us feel bad when we make mistakes. We beat ourselves about it, feel down, and even get mad at ourselves. We get scolded - at home, school or even at work - probably not always but enough to lead us to feeling bad about ourselves with our unconscious reaction.
Yet, without mistakes, we could not learn or grow.
Mistakes are how we learn to do something new, because if we succeed at something, it's probably something we already knew how to do. Easy as that. That's probably why the phrase "take a risk" has been conceived because mistakes allow us to learn and to grow from beyond what our minds can only allow. Come to think of it, life has been one heck of a journey and most of the journey was made up of mistakes.
I value learning. I value growing. I value improving myself from mistakes. If not for mistakes, I wouldn't know where I stand now. Mistakes. It's an amazing thing that makes a world of brilliance possibles.
Embrace your mistakes. Cherish them. Smile.

Lost In Wonderland - QHearts Cafe
“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?”
I woke up today and saw a white rabbit running. I tried to chase it because it would make a great new pet. Instead of catching it, I fell and landed here at QHearts Cafe. Everything isn't what it seems but it felt good being away from reality...
“Who in the world am I? Ah, that's the great puzzle.”

Tanya & Eli's Big Day
We (my cousins and I) have waited a long time for this day to come. Tanya and Eli are probably one of the longest couples I have known and last Saturday, they both finally tied the knot and entered a new stage in life.
The news about Tanya getting married wasn't much of a shocker since we've been joking about it since after graduation. We never thought that just a few short months, she finally said yes to Eli. Allow me to throw a photobomb.
Here's the SDE by the awesome Kanru Cabanatan:

Of Mangroves, Seaside and Impromptu Hosts
Last Friday, I was invited by the MSO to join their annual Tree Planting and Coastal Clean-Up. If you’ve seen my office, it has two buildings. One, belonging to District 3, which is where I am situated and the big building belongs to the MSO. They are a really big department and composing of six different divisions. Ma’am Annie, who belongs to the Head division and who’s the safety/principal Engineer was the culprit of everything. I was not suppose to be part of this but given our acquaintance and how she treats me like her own daughter, how could I say no to such an invitation, plus Ma’am Emma (my boss), gave me the thumbs up so my schedule for Friday was cleared.
Because I belong in the other building, I was not informed that I can wear shorts, hence the pants! I was having a hard time what to wear considering that we’d be positioned on the beach and I would be able to get inside the office premises.
Ma’am Annie said I should stay offshore but I couldn't let them have all the fun so I volunteered to be little miss photographer.
Kumusta naman ang ID??? HAHAHAHA!!
After the mangrove, narra and mahogany planting, we went to Del Puerto Beach for the coastal-clean up.
Famished and drained from the scorching heat, we relaxed to one of the cottages of the beach and just enjoyed the breeze. Well, there was a getting-to-know part since I’m not familiar with everybody.
(L-R: Zee, Dawn, Grena and Sandy)
Right after lunch (this is where I actually come in), there was a short program and the judging of their Slogan Making Contest. The original plan was that Ma’am Emma would be one of the judges but there was too much work to do so she sent me instead. BUT, I thought that was my only role until Ma’am Annie was looking for an emcee/host. Because of our little get-to-know earlier, Ma’am Dawn and Ma’am Delia knew I majored in International Studies and kept forcing me to take the job. So there, I said yes. I thought to myself: “God gives His toughest challenge to those who are strong enough to handle them.”
The cornetto ice cream I used as a microphone.
Then comes the judging & awarding of the Slogan Making Contest...
Congratulations to NPD for winning the Slogan Making Contest and for winning the Php2500!
Overall, I had a great experience and it felt good to be challenge to something I’m still starting to develop. Bonus points for meeting new people and the catered food!

OFW #3: ON-THE-JOB
Originally, the title was supposed to be On-the-Job Training but I’m no longer in training. Well, technically I still am getting the hang of the company’s system but the term OJT usually implies to college students who are learning the art of work. I no longer belong in that department since March of 2012. But who’s to say that once you graduate, you’ll stop training or more importantly, learning?
Life will always be a never-ending provider of lessons. We learn from experiences and from there, our minds continue to develop throughout our daily lives. Now that I am working, everyday is an opportunity to be more knowledgeable about the company, myself and life. I am more exposed to what the real world really is. Although I haven’t fully separated myself from financial support and I still am living under the roof of my parents, I still feel like I am already independent and self-reliant (in a way...). I guess working gives direction to life; to where we’re supposed to be and most of all, gives wisdom.
From the moment I wake up, prepare for work and get down to business, life will always be a continuous training and an endless learning; maybe not just for work but without-end for myself and for life.
Cheers to the working group of society and for those who are inspired to continue learning.
Remembering college days, Manila-life independency and the ever famous and dreadfully searing OJT uniform of batch 2012 with this OFW entry.
Unpredictably, the vest and slacks still fits despite the massive body enlargement from numerous catered meetings and free snacks at the office. The custom-Zee-fit blazer, however, is not in the existence of my closet because my cousin, Katrina, used it for her teaching demonstration. The top, if recalled, with electric pleats and puffy sleeves, I cannot wear anymore; not because it doesn’t fit (it still does) but because it’s too dressy for work.
Bien Amador, the designer, must be overjoyed if he’d seen me wearing his pricey creation ‘til now. I did make some alterations with the slacks. It was too loose from the knees below and I keep on tripping once stepped on.
I guess I can be labelled as being too experimental but like I said with OFW#1, I’d like a change of perspective.
How do I look?
Swing my hips & giggle,
OFW#2: UBE
In the Philippines, the Ube is a very popular vegetable. It is used in a variety of food whether it’s for an appetizer, lunch, dinner or dessert; it’s universal. Despite being a vegetable, the Ube is sweet. Freshly harvested, once you’ve opened it, you can see the bright purple yam and can eat it directly.
I can accustom myself as an Ube. I’m a universal person. I have different group of friends with different status quos and can still, eventually, interact with them despite differences. Whether they’re jocks, geeks, swimmers, athletes, bookworms and whatever status quos exist, I can relate to them. Maybe because I don’t choose my friends; I only choose the people I trust.
Just like Ube, I’m sweet. Not literally. Part of the personality development has made me discovered that being sweet is a part of my characteristic; so I’ve been told.
My inspiration for this outfit post is Ube.

OFW #1: ELECTRIC BLUE
My title seems like an acronym of a Fashion Week of a country that starts with the letter O. I’m not really good at making titles hence the confusing acronyms. Sorry! I’ll work on that soon.
The work mood I bring about usually depends on what I wear. I do live out for comfort always but sometimes it can be a bore which is why the famous Filipino phrase, “Tiis ganda” or in English, “For the sake of beauty” has become popular to most girls. Beauty does have a price. It was only last week that I realized I dress too neutral for work which is not my usual comfort zone when it comes to dressing up. (I sound so superficial right now but this is an outfit post so fill free to read or exit the site.)
The company where I work has a regular uniform but since I’m new, I am not entitled to have one yet. That’s good and bad news at the same time. Good because I get to decide what I wear and bad because, eventually, there’ll come a time when I would ran out of clothes to wear. I usually go for neon colors, bold prints and then excessorize (excessive accessories) but because of the employee’s bland-colored uniforms, they might find me a bit too bright. My boss might say: “Den (yes, they call me with my old nick because of my Dad), you dress like a walking mannequin!” So I decided to tone down my usual picks for an outfit: pair any one or two neutral apparel with a bright-colored wardrobe and then work out the magic from there, basing from the colors chosen. That way, I wouldn't look like someone who went on runway show. Trust me, I don’t like getting that impact, especially since my officemates are 20-30+ years older than I am.
I decided that since I made a lot of changes in my life starting September, I shall do this outfit change starting this week, too. I've been shifting so many aspects in my life, I hope it’s worth the change.
Here’s my OFW #1: ELECTRIC BLUE!
Blazer: ZIYA (SM City) Top: ESPRIT Trousers: GENEALOGY Shoes: RYLA
I was given an impression of impersonating Michael Jackson. I had no public figure in mind to represent my ensemble but I do agree to the suggested conception. I do like MJ. Anyone care to teach me how to moon walk?
The blouse was a tad bit feminine which is why I opted to blazer-ized it. Plus, the A/C is, apparently, facing my desk. I need protection.
Comment below and tell me what you think. Don’t forget to hype and <3 this look at my resurrected accounts: Lookbook & Chictopia!!

Weekend Loot
Over the weekend I've been feeling Mackelmore-ish. Yes! I went thrift shopping!!!! The original plan was for me and Ma to go bargain hunting at my usual shopping mecca. On the morning of Saturday, she cancelled because she said it's so hot outside and all the cars were used by my sister and cousin. She then handed me some cash and said that why don't I go there on my own. Fair enough. I didn't really want to drag her all over my usual thrift stores in such a scorching heat. So, I commuted my way to the city and here are my scores:
Necklaces at Php70 only (each).
Pink glittered shoes went 50% off. Php725 only. Black shoes (for office) Php 429.
1) Frame for my office desk. Php89 2) Pen and photo holder for my office desk. Php 27 3) Lace cup pad for my coffee at work. Php32
Blazers for work for only Php125 each.
Office clothes for only Php20 each.
Someone's really happy with all her steals!! I wonder what'll be on my next Weekend Loot? Stay tuned! Hope you had an awesome weekend, everyone! Happy BERmonths!!

Supergirl is not dead!
How long has it been since I’ve made a decent post/entry? Nevermind that question; I don’t want to discuss the amount of stretched absence I have had for this blog. The very main reason why I even made this is I wanted to share all my life’s musings but what the heck am I doing? Ok. Ok. Sorry! Honestly, I love blogging too much but I just couldn’t get a hold of time or sometimes, if I ever find a spare time to mumble, my brain juices seem outdated. This tiny site of mine has changed every ounce of my life, actually, and it has changed me for the better. In this entry, I’ll be making a promise and I will try my very best to keep it.
I, Zee Paduganan, owner of zeepaduganan.tumblr.com and creator of this site, do solemnly swear to blog AT LEAST TWICE a week. Yes, twice a week. So help me, God.
There you go! I could choose the blood compact promises but that would be too gruesome; excuse if I even suggested that. I don’t even like blood! Enough with all the random rants and let me share what’s been up! WHAT’S UP ZEE??
Where have I been? In your heart, that’s where! HA! Right now, I am typing this using Pyk, on my desk at the office. I have mentioned that I am now working (again). I have a nine-to-five job and so far, I love it. I’ve been employed for a month now and I couldn’t be happier. I love getting busy and productive, and it just so happened that I am assigned to a really busy position. Landing here was not easy-peasy with all the small talks going on and how I got in at such a young age but I don’t really mind anymore. In fact, it has somehow made me stronger; all the talks and the gossips doesn’t kill me just like Kelly Clarkson’s song “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger”, right? I am nervous though; nervous of the fact that chosen to be in this disposition would put me in so much of pressure; but like any other challenge that comes my way, I will always say to myself that I should be flattered because to be given such an opportunity isn’t an everyday occurrence. It is reserved for people who are deserving of the role. Call me assuming; call me ambitious but that’s how much I want myself to excel. Basically, all I’ve been doing was go to work, go home, go to work and so on.
How are you? I can’t seem to find the perfect answer of how I’ve been doing but so far, I am good and happy. I made a 360-degree decision about something in my life just recently and I haven’t fully pledge that to the world and that includes my parents. It’s not out of fullness of something but rather more on growing apart from it. A lot might consider it selfish upon reading this but all I can say is that, “believe what you read because you don’t know what I’ve been going through”. I am happy now and I promised myself that I need to be ok. I have to be. I am a fighter and I should be strong, which is probably the reason why I was strong enough to let something go despite knowing how much it will hurt others and myself. This right now, the thing I’m sharing is a really sensitive part of me and I cannot even believe I have the balls (if I had any) to blurt this but yes. Now my blogging world knows that I am hurting but also in the verge of getting better and hopefully, in due time, I will be fully alright.
What else is new? Anybody following me on Instagram, raise your foot!!! HAHA! I changed my hair color again!! The cherry-red top earlier this year has eventually faded and was the reason of why I was throwing a fit for having spent a thousand bucks for useless color. I opted for chestnut since I wanted it to be somewhere between the hues of brown, red and orange. And NO, I am not an avid fan of Hayley from Paramore. Please refer to my account for hair issue photos because right now, I am in no mood for vanity.
I have become more penny-wise! Everyday, I make a list of my short-term and long-term savings. I realized that I am already 22 and it’s not really the perfect time anymore for impulsive buying but rather the time for turning myself to Mrs. Frugality. I recall how my Ma would tease me of how hard it is to spend hard-earned money. True that! But in all fairness, I like having a budget and having lists and savings. It makes me sound more mature and well, responsible.
GYM! Some might ask, what about swimming??? Swimming shall always be a part of me but right now, I’m going off season because 1) Too much people in the pool it’s too crowded which leads me to 2) I can’t have a lane of my own. Unlike before wherein I would hog lane 7; it doesn't work that way anymore. 3) I’m in need of new swimming gears. My suits are worn out already. I’m open for sponsors! HAHA! 4) Last and is quite related to Mrs. Frugality, swimming cost a hundred bucks a day!!!! It’s like getting cash wet and eventually tearing it piece by piece. So, I enrolled myself at one of my girlfriend, Lauren’s, gym. Ma has enrolled there and I enrolled myself there, too. I’m starting on September and I’m excited to get back in shape. All the catered meetings and mandatory 3 o’clock snacks sure has given my weight a bit of boost.
A recent portrait of me saying "Hi! I know it's such an awkward look but letting you know that I'm still alive and staying super!"
Basically, I made a pretty long speech for a backlog, I hope I’ve tackled all those things I’ve missed to share. And I will try to keep my promise.

HOCUS FOCUS
These days, I've spending around eight to nine hours facing Pyk. If you don't know who Pyk is, he's an Acer Aspire in Silver/White hues. But it's only now that I finally opened my blog again! Hooray! Right now, I'm supposed to be curling up on my bed or watching the numerous DVDs I have purchased since God knows when. My bum life has officially ceased since mid-July and I am thankful to the two big men of my life; the one from above and the one who raised me.
I only have two career goals. 1) Being a Flight Attendant; I do believe that most girls dream of this, too. That's basing from the sizable crowd I have experienced to Open Days of QR, 5J and PR. 2) Working in the corporate world of a big company. I chased number 1 earlier this year but I was vertically challenged. So I did get my second choice and with that it's time to FOCUS.
(Entry has no relation to outfit look. Just the word FOCUS)
I resigned from my aviation-related job earlier this year because I wanted something better for my self. Maybe 2012 was my year for fun and trying out new things and giving a shot of what the real world feels like. Check, check and check for all of those. It dawned me that what I was doing wasn't exactly making me happy. So I left. Over the five months of staying at home and being jobless, I said to myself "2013 is not yet over; there's still time to make this my year and do what makes me happy."
When July ended, I was 22, I had my second choice job and everything else. I wanted to simplify everything by focusing about life. I have stumbled upon the website of Joshua Becker, Becoming Minimalist and read about his list of ten things to focus on in life.
Your Possessions - Too many material possessions complicate our lives to a greater degree than we ever give them credit. They drain our bank account, our energy, and our attention. They keep us from the ones we love and from living a life based on our values. If you will invest the time to remove nonessential possessions from your life, you will never regret it.
Your Time Commitments – Most of us have filled our days full from beginning to end with time commitments: work, home, kid’s activities, community events, religious endeavors, hobbies… the list goes on. When possible, release yourself from the time commitments that are not in line with your greatest values.
Your Goals – Reduce the number of goals you are intentionally striving for in your life to one or two. By reducing the number of goals that you are striving to accomplish, you will improve your focus and your success rate. Make a list of the things that you want to accomplish in your life and choose the two most important. When you finish one, add another from your list.
Your Negative Thoughts – Most negative emotions are completely useless. Resentment, bitterness, hate, and jealousy have never improved the quality of life for a single human being. Take responsibility for your mind. Forgive past hurts and replace negative thoughts with positive ones.
Your Debt – If debt is holding you captive, reduce it. Start today. Do what you've got to do to get out from under its weight. Find the help that you need. Sacrifice luxury today to enjoy freedom tomorrow.
Your Words – Use fewer words. Keep your speech plain and honest. Mean what you say. Avoid gossip.
Your Artificial Ingredients – Avoid trans fats, refined grain (white bread), high-fructose corn syrup, and too much sodium. Minimizing these ingredients will improve your energy level in the short-term and your health in the long-term. Also, as much as possible, reduce your consumption of over-the-counter medicine – allow your body to heal itself naturally as opposed to building a dependency on substances.
Your Screen Time – Focusing your attention on television, movies, video games, and technology affects your life more than you think. Media rearranges your values. It begins to dominate your life. And it has a profound impact on your attitude and outlook. Unfortunately, when you live in that world on a consistent basis, you don’t even notice how it is impacting you. The only way to fully appreciate its influence in your life is to turn them off.
Your Connections to the World - Relationships with others are good, but constant streams of distraction are bad. Learn when to power off the blackberry, log off facebook, or not read a text. Focus on the important, not the urgent. A steady flow of distractions from other people may make us feel important, needed, or wanted, but feeling important and accomplishing importance are completely different things.
Your Multi-Tasking - Research indicates that multi-tasking increases stress and lowers productivity. while single-tasking is becoming a lost art, learn it. Handle one task at a time. Do it well. And when it is complete, move to the next.

22: Count the Blessings not the Years
Early this year, I wasn't feeling giddy about my birthday because of a few crummy circumstances. Life's up and down nature happened; I resigned from an exhausting job last February to chase my dreams only to get rejected to three flight attendant applications. I guess the mantra of: "third time's the charm" doesn't apply to me. I have fallen short of my dreams and had thought to myself: "Is this really what I want?" That's the usual therapy I give to myself, quite similar to the stages of grief: Denial, anger, depression and etc. After that therapy is another mumbling session of "I'm getting old and I don't have a decent job." or "I'm turning 22 and I need to figure out what I am destined in life." I know I sound so desperate. Actually, that's not even half of it. Those lines are often paired with low-spirited tears. So call me anything but that's how it works for me. Or so I thought... It dawned on me how much I've been complaining so much on how life has been cruel and unfair and how it some of my friends are now living their lives that I never said: "ZEE!! THINK ABOUT ALL THE OTHER PEOPLE WITH NO JOB, NO PARENTS TO PROVIDE FOR FOOD ON THE TABLE. NEVER GETS TO BLOW A CANDLE ON TOP OF A CAKE WHEN THEY TURN 22. NO FRIENDS, FAMILY AND LOVED ONES TO CELEBRATE WITH." So I prayed about it for days and even when I was asked what to do, I just gladly said "whatever comes my way".
A simple dinner at home with a little cake from my favorite cake store to celebrate the big TWO TWO! Nothing fancy but it's everything I asked for. Blessed forever to have such special people around me. God is good!

Bring Your Minion To Spruce
I really enjoyed watching the movie Despicable Me. It tackles so much about family and I am easily moved with family-related movies even though it's animated. Actually, I still love animated movies. Tomorrow is the premiere of Despicable Me TWO!! Looks like we'll get to see more of Gruu and his gadgets and most especially those adorable and funny minions.
Speaking of minions, I know a lot of us have those little toys from McDonald's which is the evident reason for sold out happy meals. You wanna know what would make those minions even more helpful (cause you know, minions are suppose to help out with all your plans and stuff, right?), TAKE THEM TO SPRUCE!!!
Look at my minion waving from those pair of spiked flats I happen to have an eye on.
The best part, you don't have to purchase anything! If you win, you can have your item for freeeee!
The million dollar question: HOW TO JOIN? (By the way, this is open to everyone and you can use any minion merchandise not just from McDonald's.)
1) Head over to Spruce Centrio (2nd floor) together with your minion toy 2) Find any item you want from Spruce (except for Havaianas, sorry guys) 3) Let your minion strike a pose and snap a photo of it 4) Submit it via personal message to Spruce's Facebook Page together with this complete sentence: "My minion loves Spruce because......" 5) Submission period will be from July 3 to 6 Photos will be posted for online voting starting July 8 to 10. Winner with the most like shall be declared the winner and shall have the Spruce item for free.
PS, that's not my final entry. ^_^
Swing my hips & giggle,
Happy Father's Day!!!
Sending off a simple but special blog entry Father's Day post to the first man in my life!!! He's the man who will always love me despite all my flaws and imperfections in life. He's the only man whom I know who will never break our hearts. HAPPY FATHER'S DAY PAPA!! We love you to infinity and beyond!
Blessings From My Boys
I have mentioned in my Twitter and Instagram account that my cousin, Yanzi, came home from the states to finish school here. I've been his not-so-little helper from the moment of his entrance examination until the day he had his identification card photo taken. Imagine me, back to what being a newbie/freshman felt like. Hours of lining up, filling up forms, paying for fees and all those other mumbo jumbo stuff that we had to do for enrollment. As a token of his appreciation, I'm making it sound like a reward or something, he gave me a shirt which I have been eyeing out for awhile now. I'm usually just satisfied with a decent meal or a movie but I guess Yanzi had other plans.
Another man of my life, King, gave me a gift this week. He came from a weekend in Manila. I admit that I am very spoiled to King but in all honest to goodness, the only thing I asked from him when he gets back was a calorie overload; in layman's term: doughnut, Cinabbon and Brownies Unlimited. See how easily pleased I am with food? But then again, he opted to buy me something else too when I receive this message from him. Knowing King, he is full of surprises. All the more reason to feel blessed!
Without further a do, here's what I got from my boys!
The muscle tee was given by Yanzi. He bought it from @kg_wearables on Instagram. The floral short was given by King. He bought it from Bread and Butter at Glorietta.
Little blessings. Little pleasures. Thank you!

Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters
Like any other Logan Lerman fangirl, I am just as excited to see this as them. Being an avid bookworm of Greek mythology, I'm psyched that they're finally going by the book! Starting with the first Percy Jackson movie, Lightning Thief then followed by this, Sea of Monsters.
Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters coming this August!
Mantangale: Summer Ender for Quads
I never knew there was paradise just 2-hour tops away from where I live. Although it has been an ear-accustomed place with regards to cousins and friends who have been there. I can never relate to what this little simple paradise is until I finally saw it for myself. Hello Mantangale!
On the very first weekend of June, King and his officemates made arrangements for this quadruple date weekend. It was suppose to be quintuple but Irene had wedding details to plan. It was the perfect summer-ender getaway and also a great kick off for mid-year. The bankers needed some fun under the sun and away from the teller cage and money counters. As for me, I just needed a good tan. Allow me to give a teaser before anything else.
We checked-in at around 10 o'clock in the morning but we were not able to use our room yet until 2 in the afternoon due to check-in/check-out rules. I have never heard that rule before and no one was even using the sea-side suite. Instead of waiting, we placed our bags on the veranda of our suite and hit the beach. We just couldn't wait. The resort was all to ourselves.
The view from our suite! It's perfect!!
King and I found our number!
Of course, we never hit the waters without a photo-up!
Spotted: KirZee exchanging camera. Hahaha!
What I love about non-crowded beaches is how the natural creatures of the sea would swim with us like this little guy here.
I guess Spongebob Squarepants wasn't able to catch all the jellyfishes.
Lunch at the resort's restaurant.
Making use of the resort's garden right after a sumptuous lunch. I'm sure every mother would be thrilled to walk around their garden of orchids.
Chasing sunset! Para para paradise!!!!
Please don't mind my macho pose! I'm usually the one with the wackiest photos.
Blocks and cards + Empe Lime (sshhh, that's a secret) for a fun night.
Morning swim and snorkeling.
Fell in love! It only proves how much of a swimmer I am and how much I love water!
Perfect weekend! Thanks King! Thanks Metrobankers!
PS, photos without watermarks (aka the underwater photos) were from Ate Armi/Ate Jo.
