Embrace Your Mistakes
When we were young, our minds have been engraved that mistakes are bad. Creating or doing mistakes would lead to consequences and punishments. We would get grounded for touching the cookie jar before it's time for afternoon snacks, or piling up a big mess in your room, or even getting a booboo from riding your bike. Our minds have been tampered with the thought of avoiding mistakes; that we should not do wrong. Most of us feel bad when we make mistakes. We beat ourselves about it, feel down, and even get mad at ourselves. We get scolded - at home, school or even at work - probably not always but enough to lead us to feeling bad about ourselves with our unconscious reaction.
Yet, without mistakes, we could not learn or grow.
Mistakes are how we learn to do something new, because if we succeed at something, it's probably something we already knew how to do. Easy as that. That's probably why the phrase "take a risk" has been conceived because mistakes allow us to learn and to grow from beyond what our minds can only allow. Come to think of it, life has been one heck of a journey and most of the journey was made up of mistakes.
I value learning. I value growing. I value improving myself from mistakes. If not for mistakes, I wouldn't know where I stand now. Mistakes. It's an amazing thing that makes a world of brilliance possibles.
Embrace your mistakes. Cherish them. Smile.
