AT LAST. The final post. I think I can rest now.

Crunching a lot of deadlines to work around busy schedules, so here’s just a quick sketch of what I imagine a poster/book cover might look like. Obviously I’d love to revisit all of these sketches and pump in all that juicy brushwork and detail to really tell the stories I want to tell, but for now I’ll settle with capturing the general essence and colors in each painting. 

Whilst it may have been challenging and torturous, this mini-project assignment was overall satisfactory to myself considering half the time it was mostly me just making my own life difficult.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I’ve grown really attached to this little world over this short time so I expect to be growing it soon! One of the biggest challenges was probably to just find time to actually sit down and paint despite everything else going on in life :P

Quick thumbnail concept sketch of a scene idea/concept thing!

One of the character encounters a rock golem/ really large monstrosity that reveals itself to be an ancient, one of few celestial beings that still roam the earth, manifesting themselves in strange, fantastical forms.

Mostly happy with how the clouds turned out, and like the general direction of the lighting. I just wish I’d planned my brushwork and kept the values truer to the direction of the painting :P Sadly I likely won’t revisit this since I’m occupied with work T_T

There’s a lot of pretty colors in the foreground wire but its not visible on devices without a 96% adobe rgb color gamut and it MAKES ME SAD. 

Anywho, this is probably the last of the character cards that I’ll be doing. The deadline for this mini-project thing draws closer so I’ll be posting more frequently (Hopefully) 

G0blin, a cyborg mercenary from the city. (Still not entirely sure how much plot stuff I should be talking about so I’ll keep it vague for now rofl)

Another card art thingy for Gen, the Huntress of the Glimwood. I finished this off rather hastily as I felt it wasn’t really working towards the end. Was initially going for a series of these character cards, but I guess I instantly fell from consistency on the second sheet :/ #feelsbadman 

Character sketch! I wanted to go for an interesting shadowbox kind of look character art, and settled on this card-esque look with the character in a central pose and little focus on the background.

Character concept sketch of one of the main “factions” in the story, the Glimwood Guardians(?) the name is a work in progress :P

General gist is that they’re a bunch of hunters/huntresses protecting the forest from external influence, the Glimwood being the last bastion of “true” nature. As the cybervirus recently spread to the southern woods of the forest, the GG(lmao) have had to adapt their strategy altogether... 

An environment sketch I did at work today :>

This is the Ebonbog, a pocket dimension, an alternate reality parallel to the Glimwood’s serene and lush green forests. Beneath its ever twilight sky lurks ravenous, mysterious creatures. Long forgotten races and grotesque plantlife dot the miasma filled landscape, and deep in the Heart of the Ebonbog lies an ancient creature, only just stirring from its slumber to fulfill its purpose. 

Apologies for the terribly dark image, I’m still trying to work around color gamuts being funky across different devices :P

I’m falling kinda behind on my hypothetical project schedule, so I guess I’ll be posting more WIPs and in-betweens to make up for it :P

At the end of this I’ll hopefully have decided on a medium to put this little story I have into. It’s a weird jumble of sci-fantasy stuff at the moment, but I’m sure I’ll clean up this mess eventually. Eventually.
