Ruby: Taya, please! You have to get up! You have to atleast try!

Taya: Kid stop... You have to go... Leave me... (Cough)... You need to get back to everyone and get out of the city... Please...

Ruby: Stop! Don't say that! (Sniff) Don't talk like!

Taya: Kid...

Ruby: Stop! Please Taya... (Sniff) I... I can't lose you...

Taya: Don't cry Ruby... It's going to be okay... Now please... Go... And don't look back... I don't want you to see what's about to happen...

Hello everyone! Back with another RWBY x The Gashadokuro crossover piece. This time of a concept scene I've thought of for a while. So this scene takes place during the events of Volume 2 where everyone is in Mountains Glenn in which nothing is g during it, Taya gets captured and torture, and during an attack later on he can no longer move due to his current and past injuries finally catching up with him, so with that tells Ruby to abandon him and escape so as to not slow her and the others down while also buying them time to escape.

I was kinda inspired by telltales the walking dead for this (mainly the final scene of Episode 5, in Season 1) and had this idea for awhile of Taya dying at some point during this story either during the attack at Mountains Glenn, or the attack on Vale in Volume 2 or The Battle of Beacon during Volume 3.

So I decided to draw an concept scene of an emotional moment of Taya saying goodbye to someone that he saw as a little sister similar to his own Sister (Riu). While also showing the hell they've been in while at Mountains Glenn. (The events that take place at Mountain Glenn in this version take place over the course of a week.)

I'm quite happy with this piece tho Taya's broken smile could've been better. But that's pretty much it. What do you guys think? Feel free to let me know as feedback always helps!
