From 2004 to 2007 he's pretty much just a happy go lucky dude. He's the least prone to violence and is instead protective of his friends, usually leading to him getting beaten up or killed to their amusement or annoyance. He's pretty immune to the strange happenings they go through as he says "America is worse." His weaponry of choice are medieval things like swords, lances, crossbow, axes, and shields as opposed to the others. He didn't have much to do with Matt or Tom, instead he mostly hung out with Edd and Tord, liking their dynamic and trying to reign them or bail them out depending on the circumstances. He was deeply saddened by Tord's departure and sat out that whole Eddventure in 25ft Under The Seat.

Starting in 2008 onwards to 2012 he shift to more of a responsible figure of the group, being the only one to actually care about the well-being of the others even if it usually annoys them. He's a bit of a nag, but when he gets mad/protective his southern roots slip out, filling the heavy weaponry role that Tord left. He usually is portrayed with a pistol he named Sadie, illegal shotguns, knives, and occasionally he'll throw axes or use one of the older weapons in a pinch. (The gag is that he'll run out of bullets or get cornered, look annoyed, and pull his sword out of his hoodie pocket and start doing RPG shit) He's also the designated chef since he likes to hunt and fish now. He attempts to police Tom and tries to egg on Edd in a playful aggravation way, but gets exhausted by Matt sometimes since he feels like he needs to be watched constantly. Also he doesn't have a neighbor counterpart and instead Laurel is in "his" spot over there, functioning largely the same as the most chill and responsible one and the nag. This is because she is incredibly underrated and I wanted to involve her more in the Eddisodes!!

During legacy his personality is probably condensed into a more paternal role? He treats Matt like a younger sibling and is really protective over Edd, trying to give him advice constantly... His relationship with Tom is usually played like a teenager and his father bickering. He's more outwardly American than before too. His edge is almost entirely relegated to being protective now and a lot of his jovial brotherly energy is gone. When Tord comes back, they play up a lot of the newfound similarities between them, and he loosens up and stops acting like the oldest in favor of being annoying and oblivious like a weird caricature of his old personalities at a glance. (Yes this is commentary on everyone's portrayals in that era, no I don't hate it, I just wanted my dude to have the same issues cause I make angst out of it!) After Tom storms out he immediately picks up on what is happening and starts trying to pick at Tord instead, and when he punches Matt after they discover the room, he freaks the fuck out and tries to murder Tord. He only stops because Edd tells him to. Then Tord acts fake nice to Matt and apologizes for being a jerk, but at this point RJ is fed up and he goes up to his room. When the house starts getting destroyed he quickly gathers all his artillery and tries to scale the robot, very much heartbroken, but that very emotional display leads to him getting swatted off before he can break the glass and is unconscious there after. He wakes up at the end of the scene and is really down, saying he feels like he failed everyone. He doesn't walk with the guys and instead actually finds Tord by accident trying to brood, and he finally breaks down. (In the new version of the flashback, they retcon Sadie to be a parting gift from Tord, and here he almost shoots him with it before throwing it at him and running away.) He is not shown getting an apartment and during Edd's "I'm gonna miss this place" bit it briefly shows him getting in the elevator staring at Edd and an old picture looking teary eyed before the door shuts on him, cutting him off before he says something.

So in Beyond the first time we see him is near the end of Casting Call, he comes in before the Ellsworld characters with a more stereotypical southern vocabulary and reveals he flew in the moment he heard they were getting everyone back together. He asks if they got the house back too, to which they're like "...no..." And he immediately drops them all out of his hug and walks out, ignoring them trying to call him back. Irl Matt is like "I'll email you a filming and flight schedule!" The next time we see him is an episode released during the Red October charity event. It starts with a fake out in the dinner from WTFuture where he's hanging out with the Eddmates like usual having a good time until Tord shows up, he's an intimidating silhouette with blood constantly dripping from himself and he wordlessly murders everyone before grinning at RJ sadistically, then he wakes up screaming in horror. We then see an episode set during the hiatus in either Tennessee or Georgia where he hangs out with a cast based on some of my other OCs, tldr there's a spunky girl and smart guy and a hippie girl I'll draw them later. But it's more about him dealing with a permanent limp he has now and chronic migraines, both from being grabbed and thrown to the ground, as well as therapy sessions where he's very obviously in a horrible spot. But through the power of friendship he conquers his PTSD on a camping trip after having fun with everyone and talking to a coyote on a cliff that looks sorta like Tord. Unfortunately this ends with him getting bit and it hard cuts to everyone in the camper reacting to him now being a were-yote. After that he flies in for a visit during Pinheads and also gets a Tales of Terror segment where his nightmarish scenario is him shifting fully into a wild animal and the others reject him, making him fully lose his humanity and eating them all 😀 He just has a crazy inhuman form like everyone else now basically.

In WTFuture he's basically an agent in an organization against Tord and has beef with the boys, so he's just along for the ride in the fight for the time machine. Present RJ doesn't know what to think.
