What is insanity but one facet of an individual's mind? Begrudging as one is to admit to their underlying curse, such a reality will never be far off from what truly exists. Even one such as Silco, who seems to the glimpsing eye to have his life together, nary can contain the impulses that rage below his surface -- fear, anxiety, floods of rage, agitation...they all reside within.

Fingertips reach, taking hold of clipboard to pull closer, other hand already writing a note upon it: 'have Thieram clean walls when shift concludes.' ❝ There is much to learn for you as well, Jinx. ❞ He doesn't glance up from his notes, already sensing that he might witness an eye roll of teenage proportions; it would amuse him too much should that be the case, so he opts to keep his eye fixated upon parchment.

Working under Silco was, for the most part, great and full of opportunities despite the obstacles and challenges Boris needed to overcome, but perhaps one of the worst things about it was Jinx. He didn’t hate her, but he couldn’t help but feel a little resentful towards her. Mostly, he hated the way Silco gave her a pass on everything wrong she did, always cleaning up her messes when he’d made it clear that everyone was responsible for their own shit and he didn’t want to be dragged into it unnecessarily. It was a lesson he’d learned quickly, back towards the beginning of working for Silco when he had a client who refused to cooperate and take him seriously.

The first few times that Jinx’s actions were excused, Boris had kept his mouth shut about it, but now that frustration had reached a boiling point. It was just a few weeks ago that he had gotten into trouble with Silco for something rather minor on the scale, and yet here Jinx was, meddling with Silco’s plans with her reckless behaviour and causing him needless stress because of her carelessness. She should’ve had a way worse punishment than what he’d been given for his own mistake.

╰┈➤ ⚛ 【 ꜱᴛᴏʀʏ ᴏꜰ ᴏᴘᴘᴏꜱɪᴛᴇꜱ 】 TO HAVE THE ASSUMPTIONS OF Boris right now would be king to throwing himself into hysterical bouts of finger pointing as well. The mission, however great or small it might have been, fell to the hands of negativity -- backlash -- yet there were always silverlinings when it came to Jinx ; her technological advances were paramount, driven by her freedom of creativity while the threats that loomed over them were still growing ever strong each day. When he'd heard back from Sevika that they'd lost two men and a barrel of shimmer, his surprise only came with a drop of the mouth ; it was when she'd brought up everything that happened that he'd felt his temperature boil...yet simmer in tune with his heartbeat.

       Young and bold hearts made for the stupidest choices when their mouths decided to open, but he'd continue to look over his paperwork, eyeing the report with mild disinterest ; it hurt to consider what they might win and lose here right now -- especially with the raving boy in his office.

All thanks to his now-ex girlfriend, who he thought he'd managed to balance his time with fairly well (a decent bit of it dedicated to working under Silco), Boris’ mood had been sufficiently soured. As usual, he didn't bother trying to hide it. Personally, he didn't give a fuck if the world knew he was pissed off. He’d initially been wounded to discover the news, that his girlfriend of six months had cheated on him, but those feelings of betrayal and mistrust had quickly shifted into anger. For the life of him, no matter how hard he tried to come up with answers, he couldn’t figure out why she would want to throw herself at someone else when she'd claimed to be so happy with him. It just made no sense.

Silco knew the pain well ; the betrayal of one who cared so personally about you one day then abandoned you the next is...so obscenely relatable that he, dare he say, feels empathetic toward Boris's strife. Everyone had those situations where one might upset them, but the level above that ripped one's soul from their very form and chewed it until it became so wretchedly awful for others to glance at -- oh, but whose fault is it that such happened? Never the one who committed such an action toward them ; no, no, the one who became that way is the one who has the burden placed upon their shoulders so heavily.
