                                          as i survey the chaos,

                                          taking in the lack of raw humanity.

                                          it's as if the entire world,

blind to you

    a pair that no one sought coming.  makima      *&       jinx were oft'  found together.  both formally      *&       informally.  red,  blue,  they mixed together rather well  -  more than one may think,  considering the difference in personalities      *&      ethics.  jinx,  the new bomb devil,  held such potential.  a fiend that tread the edge more often than not,  anything could set her off.  always observed by the horseman's eyes,  ensuring a tighter leash 'round such a dainty neck    [ ⋯ ]    but,  it had long been deemed unnecessary. 

    baby blue is one of  very small few  who need not such reinforcement  -  enthralled rather naturally,  her chaotic nature truly came out in times of needs.  the explosive behavior proved useful in many hunts  -  despite the city's destruction.  makima only offered of positive comments,  lingering nearby     *&      ensuring the  safety  of her precious devil.

    even now,  she welcomes this lap dog behavior.  arms spread open,  allowing for an easier time for her precious demon to straddle her being.  those same arms came to snake around the much smaller figure,  a firm hug.  makima's head rest beneath her beloved's  -  listening to an irregular heart beat    [ ⋯ ]    much akin to a clock ticking.  finger tips pressed into bony groves under the skin,  grazing ashen flesh,  half dead flesh,  letting their colder bodies entwine.

    hands sneak up under jinx's leather crop top,  fiddling with the buckle holding it together.  cool steel felt similar to their own meat bag;  it's comforting.  the devil pulls herself away,  managing to have the two gazing back at one another.  she smiles,  bringing her left hand to brush messy azure bangs from such a beaut's face.  tucked behind the ear,  she'd momentarily grab the lobe,  feeling the shape.  remembering it.

    that same hand came to press into collar bone,  at the palm,  sliding over small bosom     *&    reaching the nipple  -  it sticks out like a sore thumb,  always showing itself 'neath clothing.  light pinches were given,  then a tug.  makima's eyes drifted to the lips,  dark purple,  bruised.  her heart fluttered,  something she's not had very often in her life time.

    this meant something.

    could the same be said  for her?

    ❛    tell me,  do you know what love is?   ❜         a simple question,  others would think.  however,  it's something that held a  much deeper meaning  to someone of the devil's caliber.  it's an emotion long forgotten,  stored away.  never allowed to fully inhabit  -  it was wrong.  it could become sinful,  if one weren't so careful.

            Often the blue would seek for comfort, or just some company. Just staying close to someone she cared for in a moment of need, when feeling lonely or wanting to share a feeling of excitement, or peace (was it really peace, though? the likes of them would never know such a word).

           After everything, Makima was there. For the best or for the worst; something that the Loose Cannon would care not for that much, in the end. Reasoning wasn't exactly part of her nature. What Conquest sought, wasn't it just part of everything? It was part of her own story, since she came to be. Jinx's been aware of that much, always.

           But now? Now all she'd ever wish for was just there. Soft, calming, trusted; one to appease the turmoil within and stop the ticking timer for a little while longer.

           Pair of toxic orbs gazed down upon the other Devil, following her movements attentively. And though being so careful and quiet wasn't a part of her nature, back of hand was brought to reach scarlet strands falling framing fair features, tracing every line from her jaw, to her lips, her chin.

           She's not smiling now. Not because the moment isn't enjoyable, however. But for she felt most vulnerable and free.

           ' Hm... '

Love, huh?

           Head tilts to the side, eyes gleaming as lips purse tightly while she'd try to recall the meaning of love. Could care for someone so deeply that she'd blow an entire country for them considered love? Or was it just feeling... ' Nah. ' safe? ' Not that love. '

    how twisted,  strange.  even for the devil of conquest.

           Smile already painting over pale features only grow larger upon such heated reaction, which makes Jinx lean forward towards the War Devil, an inch too close for one's own comfort. Toxic-pinks glow lightly for an instant, as she keeps her silence a few more seconds, before retreating and laughing out loud.
