I’m alive and on sem break so enjoy this short burst of writing motivation before I inevitably disappear for another few months. AND TO EVERYBODY WHO HAS SENT ME REQUESTS I’M SO SORRY AND I SWEAR I WILL GET TO THEM SOON!!
I recently made a very impulsive makeup purchase that has left me financially in ruin/j so have this as a little treat (I did watch a youtube video showing their morning routines in the sleepwear cards but I don’t remember some of the details so do correct me if anything is canonically wrong!)
Warnings: SPOILERS for sleepwear cards (just the morning routines)
Has a simple but by the book skincare routine, toner, moisturiser and sunscreen
I get the feeling he has very clear skin naturally since he has a strict diet and lets be real he probably drinks exactly 3.7 litres of water daily, no more no less
Learned his makeup skills from a physical book and had to meet Cater to learn about doing makeup that suits your natural features.
I reckon he also does his makeup very by the book but also skips steps he deems unnecessary
Concealer, if he has any blemishes
Translucent powder, if he has concealer on
Eyebrows, he probably has them plucked at a barber but he draws the ends very sharply. (they could kill a man)
Blush, a very natural colour focused on the area between his cheekbones and eyes and diffusing to the center of his face
Eyeshadow, neutral light brown as a base on both his upper and lower eyelids. Red at the outer corner, bringing it down to his lower eyelid and blending with the brown right before his iris. Uses a q-tip to clean the edges and make the point as sharp as possible
Eyeliner, dark red so it doesn’t blend too much with his eyeshadow, a small wing tilting upwards
Mascara, he has naturally long lower lashes and he uses mascara on them too
Tinted lip balm, basically the colour of his lips
Setting spray for longevity, he DOES NOT tolerate smudging
His toothbrushing routine is more extensive than his skincare routine
Only wears sunscreen (canonically gifted by Rook)
He gives the vibe of someone with naturally clear skin as well but I can see him getting occasional breakouts especially during stressful periods.
Barebones makeup routine, just wants to look clean
Eyebrows, uses an eyebrow pencil to fill in sparse areas
Eyeshadow, dark green along his double eyelid crease, close to his lashline and down onto his lower eyelid, stopping right before his iris, doesn’t care much for making the edges sharp, just neat
Morning skincare routine consists of toner, serum and sunscreen (his night routine is a LOT more extensive - toner, serum, ampoule, moisturiser, lip cream, maybe a facemask)
Impulse buys makeup and skincare because of cute packaging and never ends up using it
Routine takes hours because he does a look, dislikes it and takes it off again
Always ends up doing his normal routine (no makeup makeup look)
Shows off many different products online but in his normal routine he sticks to the same brands
I think compared to most of the boys Cater has done a lot of experimenting in terms of makeup style but he ended up settling on one signature look that suits him the best, he always looks back at old pictures and is critical about how he did his makeup
Primer, pore blurring effect
Light layer of concealer on blemishes and eyebags
Foundation, he seems like a liquid foundation girlie, pumps it onto the back of his hand and spreads it onto the center of his face using a spatula before blending with a beauty blender
Liquid blush, very natural colour onto his cheekbones, he blends it onto his eyelids for a natural look
Translucent fine powder, not too matte not too dewy
Eyebrows, uses a light orange colour to fill out sparse areas
Contour, only on the tip of his nose and eye sockets
Eyeshadow, red along the outer corners of his lower eyelid
Eyeliner, natural brown, lines his lashline and extends the edges following the natural turn of his eyes
Mascara, clear mascara/mascara primer, doesn’t really curl his lashes
Tinted lip balm, natural colour, maybe something a bit more coral ish if he’s feeling bold
Diamond mark, his is the easiest to draw and I reckon he has a stencil handy. Uses smudgeproof, waterproof liquid liner in red
Setting spray, doesn’t feel right without it!
He cares about his appearance a surprising amount but also cares about being perceived as caring about his appearance
That is to say, he only wears sunscreen in the morning and has a secretly extensive routine at night (by extensive I mean moisturizer and maybe serum LMAO)
Probably also has clear skin?? I’m going based on vibes maybe has an oily t-zone
Eyebrows, canonically learned to do them well because he saw someone getting made fun of and went that ain’t gonna be me. Draws the ends and fills in sparse areas
Heart mark, always fucks this up at least once every morning, used to constantly borrow his dormates gel liners to do it until he was literally dragged to get one himself
Uses the same gel liner to draw on his other eye, thick overline that gets thinner towards the center of his eye. Sharp point at the outer corner, brings it down to the lower eyelid, uses his finger to clean it and smudge it out
Uses a black eyeliner to draw a wing pointing upwards
Before NRC still used sunscreen religiously, Dylla hammered that in
During NRC, kept getting advised to expand his skincare routine and now uses moisturizer as well
Something is in the water at the Queendom of Roses. Also has clear skin
Spade mark, doesn’t fuck up as much as Ace but it pays cuz he takes so long to do it. Trey probably advised the first years to use a product that wouldn’t smudge but he already bought water based face paint so he decided to just use it first. Learned through experience why it was inadvisable
Eyeliner, black gel liner to draw a wing pointing upwards. Uses his nail to drag the ends and make them sharp.
Eyeshadow, doesn’ t do much just uses a dark grey to smoke out the lower lashline to match the spade on his other eye
Eyebrows, fills in sparse areas
His good appearance is a byproduct of everything he does for his own comfort
Toner, serum, moisturiser and sunscreen, all of them are probably luxury products
I wouldn’t be surprised if his shaving cream had gold leaf in it
Doesn’t bother with makeup if he won’t be seeing anyone but if he is
Eyebrows, fills in sparse areas
Eyeshadow, does a smokey eye with dark brown shadow focused on the outer corner of his eyelid and his lower eyelid, close to his lashline
Eyeliner, uses a black liquid liner. Follows his lashline. He’s does the Ariana Grande thing where he one swipes it and it looks amazing
I don’t see him doing a lot at NRC but he definitely knows his way around makeup and probably does a lot more for events
Didn’t use skincare before NRC
Now, uses sunscreen every morning (a full bottle that Leona periodically ‘accidentally’ buys too much of)
Also uses any samples, gifts or random bottles people leave in the washroom
Flexible with his makeup (eyeshadow for blush or contour, the same lip tint for blush and eyeshadow etc)
Eyebrows, uses the lightest brown from his eyeshadow palette to fill in sparse areas
Eyeshadow, uses the medium shade to smoke out his lower lashline and along his upper eyelid, close to the lashline
Eyeliner, uses the darkest shade from the same palette to line his eyes, using a sharp brush (a clean paintbrush he got for art class but never used)
Wears sunscreen religiously
Since he grew up in a cold country he probably has a habit of applying a lip mask every night.
Doesn’t wear makeup normally and whenever he has to wear it for an event someone else is doing it for him
Full routine, multiple layers of toner, moisturiser, sunscreen, all high end and reputable brands
Never needed skincare products down in the sea and his glasses cracked in the comical anime way the first time he noticed he had chapped lips
Also applies a lip mask every night
I reckon he had a phase where he tried different makeup styles every night after classes for a period of time in his first year
I hypothesise they have makeup under the sea but they’re vastly different from land products in terms of formula and application so he had a learning curve
Primer, hyaluronic acid based for extra moisture, I imagine just logistically all the Octavinelle boys have dryer skin on the surface due to the significantly less wet environment, so silicon based or mattifying primers probably leave dry patches on him
Foundation, for some reason I see him using a cushion foundation, the packaging specifically is shell shaped. High end brand that hails from the Coral Sea, waterproof and changes colour in certain saline conditions, so it stays on even in his mer form if he chooses to return to the sea with makeup on
Concealer, dabs it onto the back of his hand and applies it under his eyes and on blemishes using a small buffing brush
Powder, translucent colour with a matte finish, LISTEN it’s always the dry skinned ones that love a matte look I AM ONE OF THEM and don’t you think Azul gives that vibe. Uses a smaller powder puff to press a little more firmly on the area where his glasses rest.
Contour, socket of nose (? I genuinely don’t know what it’s called I’ve been using different terms throughout the whole thing), tip of nose and he uses the remaining for the bridge, applies some to his jawline and the sides of his face following his natural shadow
Blush, tiny tiny amount in a natural colour under his eyes and along his cheekbone
Eyebrows, fills in sparse areas
Eyeshadow, applies a cool toned grey powdered shadow along the outer corner of his eyes and brings it down to his lower eyelid. Then uses a black shadow to define his upper and lower lashline. For his lower lashline he’s careful to keep it subtle and stops right under his iris then blends slightly. Uses q tips to clean the edges
Eyeliner, uses a dark grey liquid liner that blends into his black eyeshadow to draw a small sharp wing
Highlighter, matte highlighter on his nose and cheeks
Tinted lip balm, you’re gonna get tired of hearing me say this but a natural shade
Beauty mark, redefines it using a gel liner
Setting spray, he will look flawless even if Floyd pushes him into the water again
Toner, moisturiser, sunscreen
….. Do you think the Leeches use their own brand of skincare? I’d say yes they know the effects first hand and this probably doesn’t even make it into their realm of insanity
Never had a learning phase because he disappeared for a night and reappeared in a full face of soft glam makeup
Also has dryer skin and I think it would be funny if he saw Azul’s chapped lips and started trying to scare the two by saying they would shrivel up and turn into dried fish
Eyebrows, fills out sparse areas and draws the ends
Contour, uses it to add depth to his eye sockets and nose, I don’t feel like he applies it to the sides of his face or jawline since the Leech twins could kill with their natural definition
Eyeshadow, uses a cool toned grey to smoke out his lower lashline
Eyeliner, uses the same eyeshadow to tightline his lashline and draw a sharp and long wing
Tinted lip balm, you’ll never guess it, natural colour (natural is different for everyone so all of them do use different shades and brands)
Very interesting in that he has a daily routine but he shows up to school with a different palette on his eyes everyday, sometimes in the same day
Sometimes doesn’t even wear makeup
I feel that for his ‘normal routine’ he just uses the same products as Jade except he draws his eyeliner and eyebrows down turned
He does feel like a glitter person though so maybe he switches it up by using a chunky highlighter on his nose and cheekbones as well as a lip gloss with sparkle in it every now and then
Under the assumption that usually Jamil is the one applying his skincare and makeup for him
Has a full routine, on the same level as Leona’s if not MORE opulent, forget gold leaf there’s gold leaf AND diamond specks
Sticks to just rosewater, moisturiser and sunscreen in the mornings
He doesn’t come off as the type to use a lot of base products actually, maybe concealer if he has blemishes?
Eyeshadow, uses a dark red burgundy shade focused on the outer corner of the lid, blending all along, then uses a concentrated amount along the lower lid and to create a rounded wing. Cut crease for sure. I also see him using a gold fine glitter shade on the inner corners (made from real gold)
Eyeliner, uses gel liner to line his upper and lower waterline
Blush, uses a dark burgundy cream blush above the cheekbones
Highlighter, golden shimmer on the nose bridge and highest point of his cheekbone
Lip stain, burgundy, that shit is not coming off no matter what
Setting spray, Jamil does not have the time to help him touch up so once it goes on it STAYS on
Toner, moisturizer, sunscreen
Now, I recently saw a post of someone saying his ‘eyeliner’ is natural and for some reason that minor information had me in a state of disbelief for a whole day
Pretty privilege is so real guys
I believe he doesn’t need contour either, his natural shadows are enough
Eyebrows, draws the ends and fills in sparse areas
Eyeliner, uses black gel liner but the type with a blunter end on his upper and lower waterline
Eyeshadow, burgundy shade along his lower lid, with a light wash of colour on his upper lid, uses a q tip dipped in micellar water to create a cut crease
Blush, light layer of burgundy above his cheekbones
I had to do this one last because I wanted to go all out on his
So canonically what we know is he has an absolutely insane night routine, he would scoff at the 16 step Korean routines
We also know he does his morning routine twice, pre jog and post jog
We ALSO know he uses the tweels brand of skincare
And lastly, his skin is on the sensitive side
I think he keeps his morning routine minimal so it doesn’t interfere with makeup
He is what Cater wishes he was, different makeup style everyday but he has the confidence to pull it off everytime
Anyways, toner, eyecream, lightweight moisturiser,
Lets his skincare sit for 10 minutes and dabs off the excess with a cotton pad
Applies sunscreen and lets it sit for another 5 minutes
Eyebrows, does this while letting his skincare absorb, uses an eyebrow pencil to fill in sparse areas and a spoolie to brush it out after
Eyeshadow, upper eyelid first, uses an indigo shadow, applies on the outer corner first and blends it onto the rest of the lid, using a light brown shade for the inner third of his eye
Concealer, uses a colour correcting palette and he mixes the shades by himself. Also uses it to shape his upper eyeshadow
Eyeshadow, using the same indigo shade this time on his lower lid
Foundation, liquid foundation for sure, pumps it onto a foundation palette and uses a buffing brush to apply, starting from the center of his face and buffing out
Concealer, a lighter shade this time to brighten certain areas around his eyes
Cream contour, cheekbones, nose, around lips, jawline
Cream blush, on cheekbones and apple of cheek, never going below the nose line
Cream highlighter, highest point of cheekbone, tip of nose and bridge, cupids bow
Eyeliner, doesn’t do too big of a wing
Mascara, lengthening and voluminising both upper and lower lashes
False lashes, I don’t see him wearing them everyday but maybe sometimes
Powder, only where he’s oily, avoids the highlighter
Lipliner, same colour as his lipstick
Lipstick in a purple ish red shade
Setting spray, no such thing as smudging in this household
It seems like a lot of steps but with the correct technique, none of it looks cakey
Ofc he has a full routine, toner moisturiser sunscreen
I’m sure he knows how to use every single product in existence but something tells me he’s not the type to go all out like Vil does on the daily
For sure only uses unscented products as well (not cuz he has sensitive skin so he can avoid detection from the beastmen)
I don’t think he draws his brows, or maybe he does and he’s the only one who sees
I DO THINK he owns one of those hair stick things and he uses it to brush his bangs every morning so they don’t separate
Concealer, we all know he covers his freckles and I really don’t think it comes from a place of insecurity, I firmly believe this man does the Lisa Eldridge pin point concealing every morning on each and every individual freckle, he probably also has names for every single one and whispers affirmations for them everyday. He also does it in 5 minutes max
Powder, translucent and just on the areas he concealed
Blush, a very light colour on his cheekbones
Contour, nose arch, tip, sides of his face and jawline
Eyeshadow, indigo powder shade, focuses on the outer corner and blends it within his double eyelid crease then applies to his lower lashline. Uses a q tip to clean edges and round the wing
Eyeliner, black liquid liner to draw a sharp wing, of all people would use an arrow head as a stencil
Lip gloss, in a pinkish nude shade so basically natural
He never used to wear skincare and he’s only just starting to learn pls go easy on him
Does own a full routine but he can’t for the life of him remember which products are for what and when to use them
Mixes everything he owns together and s l a t h e r s
Still in that learning stage but he doesn’t need makeup he’s just built different
At the very least he puts on eyeshadow in a greyish lavender shade around his eyes and puts on clear lipbalm
Vil checks every morning and fixes the eyeshadow for him
He wants to nag him more but he looks flawless so he can’t even say anything
You know the thing in secondary school where people try to apply makeup so naturally they can argue their way out of a case and say they aren’t wearing any?
Epel does that but opposite and it usually succeeds

To add another layer of disbelief, he actually puts on moisturiser?? I was so surprised cuz you’re telling me Idia wears moisturiser diligently but Silver doesn’t???
I’m conflicted about all this information because while it’s true I can’t imagine this man putting on makeup, it’s natural?????
BUT Idia would probably make his skin out of some kind of skin like material so I imagine he can put on makeup
Maybe it’s more of a projection? Maybe he can change the colour settings and styles in some sort of menu

Foundation, liquid foundation I can see it being pumped into the air and just spreading onto the center of his face. Enchanted foundation brush then takes over
Fully matte translucent powder, avoiding his eye area
Eyebrows, uses a pen to draw the ends
Contour, uses a very grey and ashy colour, his cheekbones and nose tip could kill
Blush, a very light layer of this almost black reddish purple shade right above his cheekbone contour
Liquid eyeshadow, in green, applies it to the outer corner first and blends it in and around the lower lid, then uses a dark grey mixed with the same green on the outer corner and blends. Cuts his crease
Eyeliner, black liquid liner with a wing that follows the edge of his eye
Mascara, applied on both upper and lower lashes
Lipstick, the same black reddish purple shade, uses a brush to apply it, most concentrated on the inside of his lip and slowly diffuses out
Setting spray, enchanted so that makeup is not going ANYWHERE

How he applies it… Concerning to say the least
He does the drunk elephant thing where he mixes everything and slathers it on but bro some of those things are meant to be layered not mixed TT
Anyways, logic tells me he’s into those Japanese doll styles of makeup
My heart tells me he’s a douyin girlie PURRR
His sprite doesn’t have blush on but nobody can tell me he doesn’t have blush blindness
For the sake of this whole thing being ‘canon-compliant’ I will say he doesn’t do this for daily makeup
I also feel like he doesn’t bother with base products

Eyeshadow. might be using the same product as Malleus, also does a cut crease, uses a separate dark brown eyeshadow for the lower lid
Eyeliner, does a small wing with dark brown liquid liner
Mascara, his mascara routine goes crazy, in his sleepwear card he mentions trying the doll lashes for the first time but fuck that, he does them da i l y. After curling his lashes, upper and lower (he lights a toothpick on fire and blows it out, using the residual heat), he uses a clear mascara primer before going in with a normal mascara, using tweezers to pinch them together. Proceeds to use another mascara with a smaller and thinner wand to do his lower lashes
Blush, same product as Malleus but instead of the cheekbone he puts it right below his eyes
Highlighter, goes ham, nose bridge, nose tip, cheeks, cupids bow, inner corner of the eye
Lip tint, natural colour (probably a bit purpley for fae)
Lets not even talk about makeup or skincare, this boy uses all in one shampoo and bodywash???
I like to think Lilia helps him with his makeup during events and Malleus magics him up for the rest when he sees Lilia pull the hot pink blush out
Has a full routine, toner, moisturizer, sunscreen
His brows are just like that???
Contour, he seems like a huge contour guy, uses an ashy brown and applies it to the sides of his face, following the natural shadow, the sides of his forehead, jawline and nose
Eyebrows, fills in sparse areas
Eyeshadow, different product from Malleus and Lilia, a green powder shadow that he uses a small brush to apply along his outer corner and blends into his double eyelid crease. He also blends it down the outer corner of his lower eyelid. Uses a q tip to clean edges
Eyeliner, dark brown eyeshadow, uses a sharp brush to make a sharp and long wing

I use daily loosely here because I have a horrible oversleeping habit and usually I don’t have the time to do anything
True daily would be liptint
With the prerequisite that I’ve woken up to my first alarm and I’m not rushing a deadline I start with a toner pad, ampoule and sunscreen
I let it absorb for 5 minutes before dabbing the excess off with a tissue
Then I use a pink colour correcting primer, squirt it on the back of my hand then apply it to my face with a brush before blending with my cushion foundation puff
Next, I use concealer, same shade as my skintone. I apply the product onto the back of my hand and use my fingers to apply it on blemishes, under my eye, around my nose and the corners of my lips. Then I blend with my cushion puff again
Next I use a cushion foundation on the center of my face and blend out
Powder, I used to be matte exclusive but I’ve been appreciating a dewy look recently
Contour, I use a powder contour in a cool ashy tone on my nose, the nose socket and the bridge, under my lips, jawline and sides of my face
Highlighter, on my cheeks and the tip of my nose
Eyebrows, I use a thin pencil to fill out sparse areas and then a spoolie to blend
Blush, I use a pink blush right below my iris and I don’t let it go past my noseline
Eyeshadow, this changes based on mood but my go to is a neutral slightly ashy brown palette. I use the lightest shade as a base, medium shade along my double eyelid crease and lower lashline and the darkest shade on the outer corner. I also like to apply glitter to the base of my eyelid and along the lower lid. I’ve also been doing this thing where I take a liquid glitter eyeshadow and draw a line along my crease
Eyeliner, I use a black eyeshadow to line my lashline and draw a long wing as a base then I go in with a liquid liner and go on top of that wing. I like my liner sharp
Mascara, I didn’t use to wear mascara because I hated taking it off but mascara remover has changed my life and now I can’t live without it. I curl my lashes then use a lengthening mascara on them
Lip, I have an unreasonable amount of lip products but I always find myself choosing between a brick red matte liptint and a red lipgloss
Setting spray (it smudges anyways)
Vil’s opinion? I think he’d approve! I spent years perfecting this routine and if he said anything I’d bite him unfortunately
