Yes! I know where you're coming from.

Yes, both of them are a victim of similar abuse, but different outcomes. From my take, Momo is a good example of a girl who, despite her trauma of being manipulated into idolizing the abuser. Through similar relationships, the two cope with it differently.

Momo has her friends & others who sympathize with her. She's caring & empathic. So Sosuke had used that to toy with her

I'd give her a soul society au but I genuinely cannot find a motivation for her outside of Sosuke's dictation.

One version I thought of:

I had one written where she was actually raised by her mother. But Akari is still carrying Sosukes traits. She kills her mother to enter the Soul Society solely so she can survive. Even without Aizens influence, she still carries psychopathic & antisocial traits. Where Sosuke psychologically picked her apart & manipulated her to connect to him through fear & desire to appease, Akari dies not have the ability to connect to others. She would also find it hard to communicate. Her mother only taught her latin since she was sheltered. So she feels more disconnect

Even without Sosuke, she's naturally lonely & apathic toward people. She killed her own mother, who did her best to keep her alive but feared her power & judgment of others. Akari saw that as a weakness. In that version, I don't see her having any reason to join the Gotei 13 other than to be fed since that was her struggle. She only cares about herself & lives for herself. She may know Aizens, her father, bc her mom said his name, but she doesn't care about it. After being raised by a posessive, overbearing mother, she doesn't want another person on her ass.

Basically a literal - less smart baby Aizen.

The other version:

It's pretty much the same for her canon but she's in the Soul Society. In this version he doesn't put her through Hollowification immediately ( which is why he didn't put her in there in the first place). She's still reclusive & aloof without regard for others. BUT she was taught to mask it. She's just not good at acting so she just smiles & nods. She gets arrested after Karakura since she does survive for her betrayal & imprisoned. Perhaps fed to the war but she'd be put back in prison

Either way...it doesn’t change her character much unless she was raised by her mom. She gets those traits from her father, & some by her mom who was narcissistic & posessive but she did love Akari. despite being loved by her mom, she still turns on her.

She accepted that she was going to die, but she wanted to die fighting & refused to just lie down.

Even if he just used her, Akari was angry he equated her to everyone else. She still thinks she better than everyone ; even in death.

She wasn't going to be tossed aside like nothing. She was going to leave an impression. She wanted to be remembered.

She was told hr sacrifice wouldn't be in vain. But it's kinda funny he was defeated so all that she did for nothing so she blames everyone for that.

She felt guilty & distraught she survived. At the last moments, she accepted her death.

She also lost a hand & a few fingers but Rokka fixed her mostly.

Rokka, Harribel & her fraccion were helping her heal. Upon waking Akari begs to die.

Her trauma mostly comes in that hogyoku form of his. She took it as the form of her shame

His voice was leveled voice bare as cold as the grave. He had nothing else to say, but like everything else he said, it bares more weight than he reveals

AT FIRST, the words hit her with an ounce of surprise as a pause hung in the air between them. Akari blinked over at her father & couldn't really blame him. The man, once he touched the heavens as he looked down at everyone else, was now bound to the Earth & forced to look up at where he once was or could be. It was almost SHANEFUL.

Her sacrifice was in vain. She had suffered through all that for nothing. Damn Ichigo, Kiskue ...all those who stopped him.

Akari does not feel sympathy. She couldn't understand the concept of 'feeling for others' just like how she doesn't help others for the sake of kindness. She doesn't understand how someone can go out of their way to feel for another person. Tell her the most traumatic story & she would just look at you like 🤨.

She CAN UNDERSTAND what someone went through, but it's from strictly experience - but she doesnt bond through it. She doesn't feel for them. She would just hot you with "well you moved from it."

Akari does have psyopathic tendencies - most of them are genetic while others enviormental, but although it is a little more complex & hard to detect because she does have C-PTSD. Her symptoms of that are effected. For instance; Akari doesn't feel guilt, but she does feel fear in place of guilt. She's afraid of acting because of a person of higher power (her dad) . Without him, she was free without that fear of a higher authority..
