I’m sorry but what? I don’t see where you’re getting this idea from. Especially when we’re talking about canon Alan. Not Tron 2.0 Alan. Alan may do some things behind the scenes, but he doesn’t plan people’s lives. He seemed perfectly fine with Sam being where he was.

Sure, he would’ve liked him to be more involved with the company, but he wasn’t going to try to force him into that. He’s more the type to be the one to encourage people to do what they want to do. He wouldn’t care about some “grand plan” and get frustrated because people don’t follow it. What you describe is nowhere in his personality canonically.

If anything, he would want Sam to get some closure on what happened 20 years before.
