CHAPTER ONE

– Prior to the Game’s Event –

Trudging back from the city of Freedom, you clutched the basket full of goods firmly- careful not to spill any of the valuable contents or else you had to buy another batch, to which you disgruntled at the thought. You won’t have any mora left to sustain for the entirety of the month.

Through the Whispering woods, you navigated the heavy foliages of the space before you felt the wind churning and howled in a certain source of direction. This wind against your skin felt a tad bit different from the city. This one felt like the wind sensed the authority draw near. Walking further to the direction of the wind, you cautiously scan your surroundings, in case any impending threats are nearing the point.

Hiding behind a tree, you leaned closely to spot a figure standing near a boulder, reaching its hands towards a non-existental figure in front of him…

It’s the same bard from two days ago. You had noticed him a couple of times when you were wandering around Mondstadt, it’s the same bard who occasionally performs his ballads in front of the Anemo Archon’s statue. So what is he doing here in the middle of the whispering woods? Was he waiting for someone? Is he doing some kind of ritual? 

Probably the latter. It’s not surprising that you had witnessed unusual events occurring in Mondstadt due to how carefree the people are, some took the concept ‘freedom’ too seriously. You shrugged before going back to your usual route to your quaint cottage.
