believe it or not, Zim isn't really a threat at all! considering most of the people in the au are either stronger than him or pretty ambivalent to his antics, he's more like the family chihuahua that barks at anything that moves than an actual villain. at current, he's kept under good and careful watch by Dokutsuki, a fellow science-focused expert who was tasked with this exact role by Fluorette herself (though neither of them are very happy about this arrangement)

theres some recurring villains that have storylines i'm working on to various degrees as well: a couple big ones are Toritsuki, a girl who died and became a vengeful spirit (who has some interesting ties to Urotsuki), and Ummu Tsumazaru (better known as Ummu-Hubur), a reawakened Mesopotamian deity with some very catastrophic plans in mind. i consider Toritsuki's storyline the "main storyline" of the au, and Ummu's is more of an au-of-an-au kind of scenario

they certainly aren't the only antagonists present by far, but a lot of the "villains" present are moreso in the background. they aren't active threats, but they are there. they are each rooted deeply in the minds of the protagonists, usually part of some of the moments that changed some of them permanently: even though they do not pose immediate threats, they are most certainly not to be taken lightly, as many of them could reappear at a moment's notice, and many are far scarier than the current threats at large.

in a general sense of antagonists, though, i'd say the most common thing fought against would be silly, nondescript monsters! since the au takes place in a sort of space-between-spaces, magical creatures are in no short supply, and while most of them can barely be considered "threatening", they're still an annoyance, so they gotta be taken care of! good thing Urotsuki enjoys this kind of stuff, because it certainly keeps her busy!
