Look man, whe I saw everyone freaking out about Ollie Bearman's discord messages, I was fully ready to add him to my block list if the receipts checked out but after reading the messages.... That's what y'all are calling him racist for???
"when can I buy him" Was he talking about Lewis Hamilton the human being? No. If he was, then yeah, that's a fucked up thing to say. But he was talking about an item that you can purchase in a video game.
I haven't seen any follow up messages either where he doubles down and says "Yes I was intentionally making a slave joke there lol" It was other people in the chat who made those follow up replies.
So can we consider the fact that he misspoke??? As if y'all have never sent a text without thinking and then two seconds later you're getting roasted in the group chat because you accidentally said something inappropriate.
And his statement about Hamilton being bad at overtaking-- you do realize athletes are allowed to have opinions on their competitors, right?? They're allowed to have criticisms. They're allowed to not be each other's biggest fan. It doesn't mean there's anything deeper behind it.
I don't know him personally, maybe I'm wrong here. But we literally just had this whole thing about not sending drivers death threats on the internet. And this single sentence, which definitely could have been an accident, is absolutely not worth getting that worked up over, especially without any further evidence.
EDIT: And this is coming from a known hater. I've made it clear that there are certain drivers I don't like based things they've done and said. I don't think a single one of these drivers is a soft boy, precious cinnamon roll who's never done wrong. And if you're gonna scream about holding Bearman accountable, then you'll have to hold every single one to the same standard (even your faves!!! who are absolutely not perfect either).
