Jinhyeong is such a good example of a character who is actively trying to get better (which I think a lot of manhwas try to do with their male leads but fail) while not pushing around their partner to the point of abuse.
Like yes! Uyun helps him grow and heal but Uyun stands on his ground when he doesn't want something.
Another thing that I love is that Jinhyeong is fully aware of how his actions hurt people he loves and how he ended up like that and his relationship with his parents. It adds flavor because he is very much aware of how and why his relationships with Song Rik and Cheong-a had failed and how it affected his relationship with Uyun.
In fact, we can see foreshadowing of how his past relationships culminated into what he is in the present. His authorative and strictness coming from his father, his fear of abandonment despite knowing his wrongs coming from his failed relationships with Song Rik and Cheong-a, his reliance on acting like a "normal" person from the expectations of his father and Cheong-a.
Jinhyeong is not a completely good person but that doesn't make him evil either. He's such a great example of how his living conditions molded him into what he is. I guess in a sense, I'm saying he's pretty much a "our worst moments don't make us monsters" type.
