Might be controversial but is anyone else sick of these new "tiktok" gilmore girls fans? All they do is bring up that Jess of SA'd over and over again while praising Tristan, Dean, Logan. Logan, I hate viscerally but I can also understand why people like him over Jess (also talking about everything hes done wrong requires a whole diff post) but hating Jess and praising Dean or Tristan makes NO sense. Their only argument for Jess is the bedroom scene while they completely neglect to recognise the fact that Dean basically lied and coerced Rory into having sex with him, not to mention his countless physical fits he threw when him and Rory were togther. That scene in S2 when she gives Dean the letter explaining everything about Jess and the car and Dean proceeds to kick the bag RIGHT NEXT to Rory?? Bring that up while talking about your precious boy Dean!!

Tristan then, also basically harassed Rory, didn't he? Intentionally calling her Mary because he thought she was a "good goodie", constantly using that kiss at the party to mess with her mind after she asked him to not bring it up so Dean wouldn't get upset. If the scene in the bedroom is SA, then thats harassment but no one cares about that, its all "Oh Chad Micheal Murray oh ah 😍"

The bedroom scene is also not as substantial or earth shattering as people make it out to be...what Jess did was wrong but personally it was no where close to SA (i suppose this depends on your personal interpretation of the scene) This was a common theme and tv shows at the time and it was never taken/discussed seriously, ASP also has a weird attitude towards young girls having sex which probably played into that, along with the fact that it was only used to start conflict between Jess and Dean so that Jess would leave and they could focus on the potential spin off where he goes to live with his dad. Watchers of the show-usually on tiktok- have some trouble forming opinions and thoughts with a few layers and struggle to understand the issue isn't black and white.
