He can’t finish the sentence, it’s cut off by a round of coughing on his own blood. He can only watch as she grabs the bomb.

He hesitates, before following her.

The bomb is lighter than she expected. It takes both hands but even while limping she can make it out the door quickly. The ticking feels like her heart in her chest. It’s ironic really she thinks as she collapses at the bottom of the steps, she never got to write her own suicide note.  

She looks up and gasps, seeing him at the top of the steps.
