It's not paranoia if they're really out to get me

Ok I'm maybe a little bit face blind so I don't remember faces well, I recognize them but I cant make them up in my brain, which is my ability to draw a character the same doesn't work

So I (or protagonist I didn't look in the mirror) was at a pool swimming with someone and I saw this lizard thing that was dragging its stomach along cos It clearly ate sonething way too big. I made the other person look and we were like man that's weird as hell, must have found something dead. Saw it again getting out of the pool but it was bigger, like squirrel sized, and it had tried to eat something literally so big that it's head didn't fit and was sticking out.

Which was creepy, but whatever we'll just go that thing is weird. I go out during the day and keep seeing something out of the corner of my eye but it never stays. I keep thinking people are walking past me but they keep disappearing when I look back, same thing keeps happening, take a panic med and check the side effects for hallucinations.

I end up thinking I'm just crazy, so I go to dinner with random sidekick. I keep hearing banging outside in the alley, so I go out to see that it's the thing, but the size of a dog now and trying to fit a whole person living person in it's mouth. It looks like a big scaly earless cat with solid black eyes and huge thick teeth like a shark that line up perfectly to sever anything. It isnt even using the teeth, it's jaws are unhinged and it shoves the live prey into it's throat to eat it whole. I run back into the restaurant and it barrels in after me, slamming into everything until it gets distracted by all the other targets. It starts just eating people indiscriminately, so I grab whoever and take them with as I run out. Something explodes and the building crumbles as we run, ducking to look back, just to see there aren't any survivors and the freak is now bigger than a truck. It's crazy fast now and just grabs things and terrorizes the city, still getting bigger. The bigger it gets the freakier it looks, like its bones are growing but the skin is just stretching around it. Police show up and try to shoot at it but it seems unaffected by bullets. I think random citezens were also trying to shoot it, their guns didn't work either, but at least we know we're somewhere in America.

We keep running and get holed in inside some building like a grocery store where calls are made to emergency services by a couple cops and they make a plan to get rid of it.

It's night and they decide to try and catch it in a net to carry it away with helicopters, catching it is deceptively easy, it just kinda hangs out in the net. The helicopters have spotlights so they can see where they're going and as soon as the helicopters go over the water (because apparently this is a coastal city) they can see thousands and thousands of these things all lined up and floating dormant under the water like some kind of bug nest. The helicopter operaters freak out and decide to try and turn around but the one they're carrying screeches and the other ones' heads all turn around all creepy like and they screech back. They start trying to jump out of the water but they dont have enough leverage so they start swimming to shore extremely fast, tbey swim crazy like they'refrantically trying not to drown. A couple do manage to cling onto the net and they pull the helicopters down into the water, cool explosion happens because ofc it does.

Anyway after the grocery store gets broken into me and whoever go hide in a hotel as these guys tear through the city. Some random guy with authority is there in classic horror movie style. Someone goes out to grab something and one sneaks in, but it seems somewhat intelligent, it's a bit smaller and doesn't try to eat anyone, it just sits there. They try reasoning with it and offering it food, like when people try to explain things to dogs by gesturing towards it and trying to tell it they'll make it better food if it stops eating people. They think maybe they can get these fuckers to just stop. The lil freak seems kinda apathetic about this and just curls up and goes to bed. They schedule someone to watch it but it just lays there, police chief mayor government fbi guy goes to take a shower before the water shuts off. The person watching tries to offer it the food, and gets closer but it isn't doing anything. (Sound guy has cut the music and the lights are flickering btw, you can hear the florescent lights buzzing) It looks up all slow and timid, sniffs the food, and doesn't hesitate to bite the person's arm off and eat them. It immediately sneaks in and eats the authority guy in the shower too.
