Evaluation
My final series is successful in portraying the transformation of eating utensils into flowers. The most successful aspect was the forms of the utensils under the different lighting and the way that it transformed the shapes into the plants we know. I was particularly happy with the spoon and knife transformations as they can across most realistic and the lighting effects were most successful. I felt I have learnt a lot about the way light effects the photos and how it can transform. Improvements I could have made were to distort the forms of the utensils and to try the objects on a larger scale. I think using chopsticks didn't give a natural enough form but still was a successful image.

Knives/ Cactus
Shoot 4- focusing mainly on the plan view shot of the Ice plant-Forks
Final Proposal
I completely changed my proposal at the beginning of the project.
For the light project I am aiming to transform eating utensils into plants with the help of lighting. I am using plastic disposable cutlery as a direct contrast to the natural theme of the transformation. I am hoping to learn how to created accurate scenes and also gain an understanding and knowledge of lighting and how it can effect my photos.
I will apply techniques of coloured filteres or another low tech version such as cellophane infront of the lights. I will also use soft lighting to soften the hard plastics of the eating utensils.
I have chosen this idea as I am interested in the way light can disort and mask the true identity of an object and our natural identification of certain shapes and light conditions.
My goal is to create a series of 8 photos (4 pairs of 2 photos) looking at each transformation and fully realising the natural aesthetic.
These are the flowers/plants that I have chosen to make my eating utensils into. The tulip with spoons, the iceplant with forks due to the many petals, the cactus with knifes as they are serrated and the dune grass with chopsticks.
The layout of the photos is such that the first photo is one of them closed/ from above and the second in full bloom and straight on.

For my objects to transform I selected 4 different eating utensils. spoons, knives, forks and chopsticks. The objects are made out of plastic and contrast the natural element of the flowers I am transforming them into.
High Dynamic Range.
I didn't have any trouble making this image. I could have had a greater range of exposures to show more information.
Favourites from shoot 3
1.closed bud of flower with a red cellophane lighting
2.same image as above but full shot. I used two different pieces of cellophane to created the mix of colours.
3.I used the other end of the spoons to try get a daisy image and I might have to cut the spoons up to fully realise this image without photoshop.
4.I like the colouring on the spoons in this image but the background isn't clean and I will try to recreate this again next shoot
5. The petal peeling adds another dimension to the image and creates some movement.
Shoot 3
I experimented with a closed flower, and trying to use to different colours of cellophane in one photo directing the light onto certain areas. I also tried to shoot from above with little succes.
For my next shoots I want to look at some effects that I accidentally got such as the bluetack sticking the spoons together creating pattens that could darken the light and portraying a more realistic image. I also liked using a different perspective and would like to have different perspectives for each of the shots in the pair.

First Shoot Favourites
I was experimenting with the shapes on plastic spoons and different light colours and how that would effect the image. I mixture of daylight a tungsten bulb and different colour cellophanes created each of the photos
The first image has the best shape for this style I want to take another perspective with the same flower to be the second image. I am also considering compiling the images to create the true colours aka pink flower, green stem
