I always say, when I started working in my current division, one of the attorneys told me “we’re all faking it; some of us have just been faking it longer.” I’ve fallen back on that a lot.

I spend my days talking to judges and lawyers, a group a lot of people would find intimidating, and there’s the same dumbassery present as there is in the general population most of the time.

Help! I’ve been emotionally cheating on my partner and I don’t know how to address it.

I’ve found myself thinking a lot about other men lately. Celebrities, fictional characters, and even friends and casual acquaintances that I/we know in real life. I don’t want to do anything with anyone else, let alone leave my partner, I would really love to be able to fix our relationship, but I don’t know where to start.

When we first met, my partner was in a high paying managerial position, which I found incredibly sexy. He was confident, competent and motivated. After a string of bad luck and lost jobs, he started his own business, which we had to close after three years, as it simply wasn’t successful enough to live off. He has been bouncing between jobs and unemployment for another two and a half years now, and as a result has been struggling with mental health and depression. He also suffered a small stroke about 9 months ago, and while he is physically fine, his mental health and capacity has dropped even further. He hasn’t been able to work since, and we don’t even know if he will be able to return to work in the near future due to his mental disabilities from the stroke.

I still love him dearly and support him in every way I can, both financially and emotionally, but I’m just not attracted to him. He does want to get back to work, but doesn’t know what he can do, and every time I try to talk to him about it he has an excuse for everything I suggest. He has been seeing a psychologist as part of his rehabilitation from the stroke, but it hasn’t made much of an impact, (he doesn’t like the psychologist and told her she has no bedside manner because she told him outright he is stuck in a downward spiral and doing nothing to help himself) and that is finishing this week anyway. I’ve suggested he see a different psychologist previously, but he refused.

On top of all this, he has always maintained that if I were to ever cheat on him, he would leave without a single goodbye. I still don’t know what he defines as ‘cheating’.

Whenever I have tried addressing issues in our relationship in the past, it always ends with him making more excuses and me in tears. I don’t know if it will just hurt him more by telling him that I have been thinking of other men and be counter productive; should I just try to ride it out and give him more time to get his life back together? Or should I be honest with him? How do I tell him in a way he won’t react to negatively?

There are hardly any female werewolves because they break all the classic rules of femininity. They force you to confront female violence, strength, size, grotesqueness and uncontrollability. Historically female shapeshifters always shift into something dangerous (snake) or sleek (cat) or dainty (bird) but female werewolves ignore the masculine gaze completely. They're distorted beasts that have no ulterior motive except to destroy. Nothing about them is nurturing or modest. They're the opposite of what a woman "should be." Their omission from pop culture is not an accident.
