Crowley loved Aziraphale more than he ever cared about humanity.
After yeeting Adam at the nuns, he tried to convince Aziraphale to help him stop the Apacolypse, and you know what his arguments were? If Earth is destroyed, we won't have anywhere to go on our pretend real dates. Food, music, the bookshop. Things they enjoyed together.
When he realized they raised the wrong kid, his entire plan became ditch Earth and run away. Three times he decided that was the best next step. Twice he pitched it to Aziraphale and once while he was alone.
When he thought Aziraphale was murdered, he gave up on saving Earth or running away to hide and got spectacularly drunk instead.
When he realized Satan was on his way, it took Aziraphale threatening him before he locked in. And that threat was fix this, or we (literally) end here.
Crowley loved Aziraphale more than he ever loved people and more than he loved the Earth.
But I guess season 3 kinda forgot about that.

you ever notice.. nothing really turns out the way you thought it would. you make all these plans, tell yourself: this is how it’s gonna go, and it just doesn’t. things fall apart, people leave. you end up somewhere you didn’t even picture. and you sit there thinking, what the hell happened? like you missed a step or something. and the truth is, there was no step. most of this ain’t planned. half the shit you do is just reacting, doing the best you can with whatever’s in front of you. that’s it. no big design behind it. no guarantee it works out. no reason it has to make sense. it just keeps going. and after a while, you stop trying to control it so much. not because you figured it all out, but because you realized you never had control in the first place. and that’s when it finally feels real.
I haven't made a gifset or fan video since October 2021. Now I'm having all these ideas of things to do because of Crowley and Aziraphale and my brain is itching...
see my problem is if i “listen to my body” it literally only wants to lie down and take naps, all the time

I understand people feeling mad and sad and disappointed with GO3. I come from the Lucifer fandom. That ending was so bad to me, I literally haven't watched my former comfort show since September 2021.
I miss those characters a lot. But that ending just ruined everything to me. I can't watch knowing that Chloe will inevitably have her fears come true and live a full life like that.
So even though I understand the GO3 ending and even liked it a bit... I'm still here for everyone who feels disappointed and abandoned by the story.

Ok so... The thing about the Good Omens finale that's bugging me is how unfair it feels to have Crowley and Aziraphale just miss the happy ending they deserve. Even though I liked the ending, this is bothering me.
It's like... They were there for all the hard parts. For the pain. The doubt. The loneliness. They silently yearned for each other for ages. It's just too unfair that, even though I truly believe they will/would always find each other in all universes and all lives, the original ones didn't get the happy ending.
And as I was rewatching the finale last night something from another (but similar) universe popped in my head.
The person I reblogged this from deserves to be happy.
I just finished rewatching GO3 and once I'm done crying again I will try to put into words my headcanon about my two babies 🥺

“BUT THAT’S NOT THEM!!!!”
HOW can you say that?!?!?! HOW can you sit there and watch Asa say “scrumptious” and “tickety-boo,” bring out the hot cocoa, and then watch Anthony absolutely GEEK OUT over the universe and point out the NIGHTINGALE while they hold hands under the night sky — and then look me dead in the eyes and tell me that’s not them?!?!?!
Like I’m sorry but that is literally their ESSENCE reincarnated into human form. Same souls. Same love. Same ridiculous little mannerisms. They found each other AGAIN. What more do you WANT FROM ME!!!!!!!!
Honest (SPOILER) thoughts regarding the GO finale, I think a valuable piece of writing people are kinda overlooking is the INCREDIBLE subversion of their main motivations
Like we as the audience are lead to believe from the start that Crowley is this jaded, cynical little fucker who’s fond of one person and one person only. The typical “nothing in this world matters except you” grumpy who doesn’t give a shit about a universe that rejected him. Aziraphale, likewise, is pretty easily seen as the bigger picture guy, it’s obvious he loves Crowley deeply but it’s the mission of the larger world, the good of the people, that draws his time and energy- he chooses that responsibility more than Crowley. These are the roles we’ve seen them play and the archetypes we’ve kinda locked them in to. It matches with their grumpy vs sunshine attitudes, their aesthetics etc
Then in s2 we started noticing some cracks in it. We’ve met Angel Crowley who is a beautiful sunshiny dreamer who cares so deeply about the gorgeous world around him. Aziraphale starts to get a bit wrapped up in his own self interest from time to time, caring more about his bookshop or Crowley or even Jim than his larger mission. These little moments added depth to their characters, but ultimately didn’t shake our ideas of them. But THEN-
When they were asked by God what they would save, everything in the world has been stripped from them. The universe is lost- all that remains is each other and the final question of “what in the whole of existence matters to you most?” And we think we know what they’ll say, we think the way we’ve been taught all this time- Crowley is the selfish lover and Aziraphale is the heartbroken rejector.
But instead we meet their cores. We meet the truest stripped down versions of themselves and we learn the truth. Aziraphale picks Crowley. His lover, his life, the being that completes him. He makes the selfish, or loving, choice, no matter what it means to the world. And Crowley- Crowley is crying for the world. He is so utterly helplessly desperate for humanity to have their chance that he’s willing to throw away everything out of his sheer love for them. We’ve met the old part of him again, the artist and the lover, the selfless one he’s had within him all along. And for Aziraphale we’ve finally met the lover in him too, the one who’s finally willing to put his love for Crowley above all else.
I don’t know but I think it’s absolutely beautiful to get to know characters that you thought had these black and white motivations, only to discover that when it all comes down to it, they are capable of throwing everything we assumed about them out the window. There’s no black and white or even grey, but a whole world of mixed up colours and choices that make them whole. The sinful Angel and the selfless demon to the last.
