Hello! I'm Ponder.
Things I like: ˚⊹whimsy˚⊹, art, writing, my characters, reading, generally good vibes, kind people and animals. I'm not really the best at knowing how to do intro posts, and I am not always great at the whole social norms and expectations stuff. I have a WIP on ao3 that is original fiction. My blog here is all sorts of gushing about that so if you want a basic kind of "feel", there is plenty to find, but I'm always here to yap about things if you want to know more! I like asks, I love interacting, but if you're not of the vibes and for the vibes, you can gtfo. Chances are you'll figure out within a very short span of time what's what without me needing to spell it out for you, but in case your reading comprehension is lacking, don't be a dick or be hateful. Dimidia-- I'm just going to adapt a really long answer to a post I found here that I think does a good job of like, THE VIBES:, plus some like, more details: Ahri. Milo. Kieryn. Oppressive, theocratic control systems and institutional abuse. Lots of trauma, lots of pain, lots of very broken people trying their very, very best to do what they can to protect people they love. Some magic, some maps, art, music, slow-burn, over the top nonsense flirting and completely unhinged co-dependency.
I think my work could be broadly put under fantasy, but I also know it it far too literary and also just sort of...cerebral and psychological. I am interested in the character studies than the world-building. It has fantasy elements, for SURE, but like, I am not as invested in the world as the characters and their interactions with it. I also just like writing the systems of them and their relationships, and the scenarios and situations they are put in feel hard to nail down into a specific genre.
Hyper-close first person POV? YES. More than one. Magic systems that do have impact on the plot? Starting to edge into the weird places of literary fiction. Psychology and some bits of extreme violence? Might could be a little horror-y. No smut, actively ace characters who are neurodiverse and genderqueer? Correct.
