Truth is a god in the way that gravity or magnetism is a god. He's just a manifested force of nature. He's sapient on some level, sure, which is a neat trick, but we managed to make meat think and we're not extraordinarily special about it either. He didn't invent humans and he didn't spawn the universe the way that Rose would have expected the god of her religion to have done; he has minimal to no interest in the day to day lives of any creature and only intervenes when someone actively wanders into his grip of influence. He's not a Capital-G God. Truth is to matter what fire is to flammable objects. He's a metaphorical (and perhaps even allegorical) chemical reaction.

Ed isn't an atheist because he saw god and cussed him out irl; Ed's an atheist because he doesn't believe that the brute force of Truth qualifies as a god. Quite frankly, I think that's a hell of a lot ballsier and a much more complete understanding of the situation. This perspective insulates him against idolizing the Truth as an ultimate divine force and makes Truth something that can be reasoned around or through, rather than with, which would never have worked.

I will be downloading everything I purchased from Bandcamp and keeping an eye on it.

WiP - Vox Doll - Bowtie & Waistcoat

I got hit by the worst cold I had in years and therefore my progress on Vox was a tad slower than usual and I had a lot of breaks as I worked on him.

One thing I made first was his bowtie and ... yes you can actually tie it.

I made some bowties over the years and I knew what I was getting into, the pattern was made quick I made a mock up but it was a tad too short, therefore second attempt.

And here is the 2nd attempt, it was a tad too long but nothing a few stitches couldn't help with.

Next up is the waistcoat and I decided..

to a) make better pattern and b) use some fabric from my cosplay to make him more outstanding.

The waistcoat was planned for saturday and then the coat for sunday, this waistcoat might be not that complicated and I did prepare all pieces the evening before but due all the stripes it took a while to sew them all together.

But here he is with his waistcoat. I know the wi-fi symbol is still missing and I remembered he .. has a hat. Therefore little additions to be done today.

First we have the hat and as you can see the symbol is already added to the shirt, i didn't take photos of that.

And hands are painted the design is simple and for now i just went with painting them and adding metal leaf for the fingertips (the same i used for my cosplay) as it's the color I needed.

And here he is, almost ready to stirr up everything (still waiting for his shoes though q.q;; ).

Next time:

Sometimes when an action makes NO sense to us ("he's like a stupid alien"), it's bc we are not understanding its true motivation/purpouse. If his goal was control, financial pressure and limiting her options due to lack of funds, it makes perfect sensie to buy the truck.

This is classic abuser behavior: maneuver the partner into a situation where they feel trapped and cannot escape. The timing on this is too perfect; he saw her gaining agency & power in the relationship and moved to short circuit that.

I am SO GLAD she got out.

If this happens to you, try reaching out to friends & family first. Chances are they've been watching your situation and are aching to help, but have felt powerless. I can't tell you how many times I've watched this scenario unfold. Ask. For. Help. Nobody will judge you, and they're probably waiting for you to make a move. People notice abuse and want to help.

I think this is one of my favorite sets from this photoshoot in which you see the full outfit, I didn't feel well body wise during these days and I sorted out almost all photos that I disliked and but these... these are somehow so honest and authentic for me, I just like them.
