SOL RUCA, TIFFANY STRATTON & LIV MORGAN WWE Royal Rumble, January 31st, 2026
I promise I'll be nicer
If you want to come around again
ENA Dream BBQ's language barriers...
(Sidenote: I chose a line from their game dialogue, google-translated it and tried to write it myself I hope what is written makes sense lol)
when you think about it teenagers of the next generation will never get to experience a cw show with 7+ seasons and 22 episodes per season. they will never know what it's like to be insanely obsessed with a mediocre show with mediocre writing and mediocre acting (with one really good actor carrying the show on their backs). they will never know the feeling of fighting weekly in the trenches for your ship only for the writers to screw you over. they will never be so increasingly disappointed by the worsening writing choices as the seasons progress and they will never know what it's like to watch the worst series finale after investing years into a show. and that is the biggest tragedy.
I'm not kidding that I UGLY sobbed during the Manousos travel sequence. I have never seen a more beautiful representation of the desire for human connection. The shot of the rock with the drawings done of early humans representing one of the first modes of externalizing thoughts and sharing ideas before written language was developed... Manousos going to painstaking lengths to learn English so that he can communicate with Carol in her tongue when they finally meet... The breathtaking scenery around him that he cannot even fully appreciate because he has no one to share it with...
The hivemind has seen the whole world and can't experience awe. They don't have to work to learn a language, which is an act of tremendous love and respect when shared between humans. In gaining all of the knowledge of every brain on the planet, they lost all sense of empathy and determination and spirit, which Manousos embodies at every turn.

there's a lot of ways to read pluribus but i think if you abstract the plot to its most basic elements then really it's a show about how we interact with the world. why do we not want the world to know us. why do we deny the world the opportunity to love us. what are the ways opening up to the world can hurt us. can we exist independently of the world. can we survive if we feel the whole world hates us. what makes us want to reset our world to how things used to be. can we exist in the world without hurting others. should we try. are we alone in the world. what if you make one other person in the world happy. the world is big......
Gave this a try lmao
Think it's weird how people keep arguing if Pluribus is about AI. It obviously is, intentionally or not, I mean Fahrenheit 451 is about censorship no matter what Bradbury said.
It's about AI, it's about COVID, it's about the meaning and utility of happiness, it's about grief, it's about individuality versus our reliance on others, it's about humanity and what it means to be human. It's about all of that and more
The first streaming platform to figure out that they can have as a main (and even sole) selling point that they will have a contractual obligation to properly wrap up all their original shows regardless of success (be it with a shorter season, a special episode, or a movie) is going to make so much money they'll have to invent new numbers
"i asked chatgpt—" well i asked the hivemind and they said to give carol sturka a grenade

watched episode 2 of pluribus and im scared of the people in the pluribus tag who are saying they would "love to join the hivemind" and the reasoning im hearing the most is "well carol is an american individualist talking down to people of different cultures, shes wong and she's cringe. i would just live happily and comfortably just like the rest of them are!"
yeah shes an american individualist dickhead. shes been shaped by the god damn culture she lives in. but she is right to point out that this is strange and disturbing. those sexy women that Koumba called aboard his flight all have the memory of giving birth to him. every man, woman, and child on planet earth apart from a dozen people have lost themselves, their hopes and dreams and whatever they planned to do with their lives. a few days ago, a woman, Zosia, was in her home country and now she is carol's chaperone because the whole of humanity thought that she would like her.
the world is at your beck and call. they are all your father, your mother, your children, strangers. babies in maternity wards are part of a hivemind, they will never grow into people of their own, they will be raised with a terrifying blend of all of humanity's memory and tragedy, born with every experience already completed. people move in a single unit to remove bodies from streets, never speaking to one another because they all know, because they are connected by psychic glue. your fury kills them.
constantly observed, never made to struggle by other members of humanity, known infinitely and intimately and never really knowing a WHOLE other person. you live alone, apart from a handful of other people who don't care, while everyone else has joined an amalgamation whose existence depends upon pleasing you.
it isn't only wrong and unfair to the unafflicted -- it is unfair to the hivemind. they are nonviolent. they don't even kill animals to eat, not bugs, nothing. but your emotions wipe out millions, unknowingly, both in front of you and in corners of the world you will never touch. they don't deserve that. their unity has made them susceptible to your whims. if you felt like, you could shout and scream and stomp your feet until the human race goes extinct. you could even do it by accident if you're not careful!
you must stay pleased and complacent, stay satisfied, or you can join them. add yourself to the slurry, be even happier than you can ever imagine, know everything and want for nothing, merge with your enemies and friends alike.
and then, you, too, will be happy and contented to serve the remaining, unaffected ones!
Can’t stop thinking about Carol Sturka and how even though her marriage to Helen was obviously deeply reciprocal and deeply happy in many ways, Helen did so much to manage not only Carol’s career but Carol. Implied in just the few glorious scenes together: years and years of maneuvering around rages, maintaining functionality w/r/t alcohol, providing intimate queer outlet from career built on self-alienating compulsory heterosexuality, offering grounding perspective as antidote to self-pity.
Also, a HIVE MIND of sorts: Helen fully prepared to type while Carol talks during the aborted AMA, workshopping the answers together. (Did “George Clooney” send before the virus arrived?) Helen as the lifeblood of Carol’s career.
At the bar together, Carol’s misanthropy is only slightly frustrating and mostly charming because she’s complaining in front of someone who loves her and knows her depths, someone who both challenges and indulges her on a daily basis.
Contrast that with Carol’s behavior in front of the 5 English speakers: Carol in a deep grief she can’t talk about because she’s consistently chosen not to talk about that part of her life, Carol giving nothing of herself, Carol understandably bitter over the others having spouses and family members with them, Carol the writer who’s used to crafting narratives for an absorbed audience, albeit one she secretly disdains. She defaults to treating the other 5 like an audience, but this audience has received nothing good from her, and she just alcoholic white-lady rages all over them (KILLING MILLIONS!) with no Helen around to temper her and love her and mirror her good parts back at her.
(Helen dies so close to the start of the series and yet this is far and away one of the most compelling, lived in, lovely, real queer relationships I have ever seen on television and I LOOOOOOVE THEM.)
