The state of Alabama has just made it a felony to give trans children ages 19 or younger hormone therapy or affirmation surgery.

Trans Lives Matter and stay safe.

This is all to say, this country manages to fuck up even when the intent is starting to head in the right direction. The AL bill is the exact opposite of the right direction. Trans and intersex kids are in so much danger in the US, and it makes me so fucking angry.

I know they look cool but lab coats don’t mix with beaches. 👩🏽‍🔬👙🏝

I stand with the women surgeons who were unfairly profiled in the #journalofvascularsurgery for wearing bathing suits, among other perfectly normal things. Being scrutinized for your attire is far too common an experience for women across the globe; and those of us in the medical profession are no strangers to it either.

I sincerely hope that both the journal and the people behind the “study” have learned a tremendous lesson about respecting women and focusing on what truly matters!

To all the women who are doctors, nurses, midwives, PAs, anesthesiologists, EMTs, firefighters, phlebotomists, and every other health profession: 🗣
