“Thoughts on leather jackets?”

Yeeun hoists herself into the scratched counter of the tiny bathroom, cheap neon strips of flashing lights pasted around the edges of the ceiling and the booming bass of the music barely muffled by the closed door. She swings her legs, the heels of her boots banging lightly against the cabinet beneath her.

“They’re cute. Why? Don’t you already have like, three of them?” Your fingers curl around the lip gloss your best friend offers to you. You thank her before you lean forward, uncapping the makeup and spreading an even, glossy coat over your lips.

“Not on me!” She taps her manicured fingers against her thigh rhythmically. “Actually, maybe on me. There’s a really good sale going on at Madewell right now. Maybe I’ll get one.”

“Another night of drunk retail therapy?” You pucker your lips, angling your face slightly to check that you had applied enough of the shimmery gloss. You quickly adjust the shimmery white crop top you have on that makes your boobs look phenomenal. Perfect. It’s the first party of your final year at university, and you would very much like to start it off with a bang and leave with a cute guy tonight.

You wince at that. Poor Mark was always a lightweight and yet, he always accepts whatever drink Donghyuck hands him. And the latter always mixes concoctions with cheap vodka making up at least 40% of the contents.

“Isn’t this exciting though? The Lee Jeno is interested in you,” she squeals, grabbing onto your arm excitedly.

“I’ve been there. Freshman year, two minutes and beard burn. Literally, the worst experience of my life. Zero out of ten, no stars on Yelp, would swipe left on tinder, maybe even report him to save other people from the horror.”

Taeil

Taeil had been your best friend since high school, you two grew up into adults together. He’s seen you go through several different guys, and eventually give up on men all together. In fact, it had been two years since you even went on a date with a guy. The closest thing you have even come close to is the weekly coffee dates you have with Taeil and he can tell that you were getting more and more boy crazy. He only really realized it when you got very drunk and tired to hook up with one of his friends. That’s how he ended up bringing you home, repeating over and over that he wasn’t going to kiss you, but that you did need to be kissed, badly. And that’s what was wrong with you. You should be kissed often and by someone who knows how.

Weeks later you managed to get him to kiss you, which lead to making out, with led the two of you to having sex in the bathroom of a restaurant. Thankfully things between the two of you didn’t change, the only thing that did was the two of you occasionally had sex when the two of you were in need of a good fuck. You never looked at Taeil in that light before, but now every little thing he does seems to turn you on. It was frustrating to find your best friend so hot, especially when you hang out quite regularly. When you woke up the next morning Taeil was silently getting dressed, “What are you doing?” you asked rubbing your eyes, “Why didn’t you wake me up?” you followed the question sitting up.

“I kept you up late last night,” he replied simply before tossing you one of his clean shirts, “I can bring you home on the way to the studio,” he said while you pull the shirt over your head. “Taeil… You don’t have to go in until this afternoon… Don’t hurt your voice,” you scolded him and he groaned running his fingers through his hair “I just… can’t get this one part,” he complained falling back on the bed. “Voice rest would do you some good,” you told him, “How about we get breakfast instead,” you offered with a smile one he couldn’t help but return “God I think I’d lose it without you,” he said. You just shrugged your shoulders “I’m a good friend,” you said getting him to chuckle and cup your cheek, running his thumb over your skin “I think you’re more than that,” he said getting you to roll your eyes “Friends with benefits,” you answered but he shook his head no “More than that even,” he said and you couldn’t help but smile “Girlfriend?” you asked getting him to nod “Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner of some very delicious waffles.” he gave you a wink before getting up.

Taeil

He was mature enough to understand that being part of the mafia meant making sacrifices. So, when he was told he was getting married he was very understanding of the situation, he didn’t throw a fit or make it hard for anyone, he just did as he was told. However, one thing he wasn’t told was just how beautiful his wife to be was, well at least in his eyes. His eyes widened slightly the second you walked down the aisle towards him and he looked at his members almost as if to ask if this was the woman he was really marrying. They nodded their heads and he looked at you as you moved to his side and you smiled at him causing his heart to do this strange thing where it jumped. He spent the entire ceremony just looking over your face, your hands, your figure basically every inch of you because somehow you ended up being his?

Once it was over and he walked out with you on his arm he quickly started talking with you, learning what you were like, what you liked, what you didn’t, he made you laugh to hear the way it sounded, and he made you smile and decided then and there that it was probably his absolute favorite smile he had ever seen. You were surprised to see how into you he was considering the horror stories you had heard from your sisters and friends. You expected him to want absolutely nothing to do with you and be a bitter cold asshole like your brother in laws were, but Taeil was nothing like them, in fact his eyes and smile made him his warm. On the way to your honeymoon suite you weren’t nervous like you thought you would be, in fact you were kind of excited.

Like a gentleman Taeil let you use the shower first to get all the makeup and sweat you had on. You walked out in nothing but a robe and saw the slight blush on his cheeks as he looked away heading into the bathroom to shower. You climbed onto the bed and pulled out your phone looking through your social media as you softly sung a song to yourself. “You have a nice voice,” he said walking out of the bathroom without a shirt on, meaning it was your turn to blush and look away “Thank you,” you replied. He laid down on the bed next to you looking at his own phone when finally got the courage to ask him a question “Taeil can I ask you something?” you questioned looking at him “Of course,” he replied looking at you. “Why are you so… cool about the whole arranged marriage thing?” you questioned and he hit you back with “Why are you?” answering a question with a question, classic mafia tactic. “It’s just the way things go in my family, everyone I know is in some sort of an arranged marriage,” you explained to him.

“Well, I suppose for the same reason, it’s just the way things go in the mafia. To make stronger bonds with other groups,” he replied to your earlier question before smirking a little “But it kind of turned out favorable for me,” he said getting you to smile “Fell in love with me by just a glance?” you teased getting his to run his fingers through his hair. “I never believed in love at first sight. That we are able to give our hearts away upon once view or that after one glance we are in love, but I do believe that the second I saw your face, I loved them, and the moment I saw your smile, I loved it and the instant I heard you laugh I fell in love with the sound. I have never believed in love at first sight but I do believe that after one glance in your direction I have belonged to you completely,” he said simply and you leaned in pressing a kiss to his cheek “And I belong to you, completely,” you replied.
