The Silent Hum
summary : a short story I just wrote, enjoy âĄ! wc : 736 TW : angst, death
The view was breathtaking, much prettier than any sight Adam had been lucky enough to witness before.Â
Skyscrapers that stretched to the clouds, Opalescent holograms and large billboards, and the ever present soft hum of the city.Â
Except you could hear it clearly now, for the noisy urban center that never slept, was utterly quiet tonight, almost. Adam had lived there for thirteen years, commuted to work for nearly as much time each morning, and commuted back home every night. The city was never silent, it was always abuzz with stories, exchanges, cries and dreams. But the hum was always there, if you stopped to pay attention, and Adam often did, lost in thought after a long day, or too tired to register the loudness of everything around him. The city itself was alive, fed by the emotions of those thriving, living and surviving in its heart.Â
Adam stood at the 50th floor of the tallest tower in the city, his usual place of work. However he never had clearance to make it this high in his decade long service. And perhaps he understood then why the higher ups were always cooped up in here and were never to be seen in the lower floors.Â
Not that it mattered anymore, nothing did. Not when everything was going to turn to ash.Â
UTTERLY WHIPPED â„!! SUKUNA X FEM!READER
This story is HEAVILY based on @ trintheweirdo's jjk sketches she makes on TikTok, the one I based this fic on is "When you run into jjk characters at the grocery store while in your pjs/ looking a mess"... I love her sketches overrall, especially the sukuna parts, I find them hilarious so I really wanted to write a fic! Creds to Trin!
WC : 1,1 k
TW : just mentions of human meat, drugs , killing and Sukuna being Sukuna lol
Enjoy, darlings!
This was humiliating, beneath him really.Â
The king of curses, reduced to stalking behind the dairy products aisle in a frankly terrifying way. He was scaring all the customers out of the store! Not that the clerk would even step within six feet of this man, let alone talk to him. He looked rabid, literally.Â
There was an almost visible aura of despair and pain surrounding him, not to mention his massive fucking build and height. As for the four arms and several eyes, the store clerk assumed it mustâve been a result of the drugs he had been inducing in during his break.Â
And all of this was because of you. Yes, you, according to Ryomen Sukuna at least.Â
You got upset, after a petty argument you two had, in which he was right- because he always is. And then you left, stopped answering your phone, ignored him when he went to your house to see you, (youâre lucky he didnât raze your neighbourhood to the ground).Â
So now he was reduced to this! Following you around like some dog because you wouldnât give him the time of day anymore.Â
A stubborn, infuriating woman, is what you were. And heâll be damned if he doesnât get you back because what Ryomen Sukuna wants, he gets.Â
But that wasnât counting on your attitude and how, even though he refuses to admit it, whipped he is for you.Â
You were in the body products aisle, deciding on which body soap to get when you suddenly shiver, feeling a disturbance in the air.Â
You turn to your left, and then your right, the grocery store was completely empty, even the clerk had fled- vanished.Â
You wondered in dread if you had been transported to the backrooms for a moment before remembering that you had an actual demon for an ex-boyfriend.Â
You still turn around quickly and launch your body soap at whatever is standing behind you.Â
The bottle hits a large, tattooed torso with a tunk. Sukuna stood at his full height, crossing his arms with a scoff.Â
âDid you truly believe that this would hurt me?âÂ
âWell no, but I hope that itâll teach you to stop following me! I donât want to see you, now go away!âÂ
âI will not be ordered away, womanâ He answers with a scowl. âYou knew what we were getting into when we married.â
You sputter slightly, your eyes going wide.Â
âHuh?? Repeat that?â
He squints at you before walking closer, his steps nearly making the ground vibrate.Â
âDo not test my patience, wife.âÂ
You scoff loudly, nearly throwing your head back in disbelief.Â
âWife?! When on earth did I agree to marry you? Oh, you must have lost it-â
Now he has the audacity to look shocked, and angry.Â
âI repeat, do not test my patience, you agreed the moment you decided to be with me.â
âI agreed for you to be my boyfriend, not husband!â You spit out in frustration.Â
â...â
Thereâs a long moment of silence, the shelves begin to tremble slightly.Â
âboyfriend? Do I look like a boy to you, woman?â
âoh my god, thatâs not what it means!â You smack your hand over your forehead âitâs like dating, courting or whatever they called it during your era!âÂ
âWe are way past courting, considering all the noise you were making when-âÂ
âDo not fucking bring that up!âÂ
A wide grin spreads across his face as he nods.Â
âOh I understand now⊠You want me to beg? Chase you, fight for your love? You shouldâve said so earlier.âÂ
Oh no.Â
âAre you even listening to a word iâm saying? youâre so stubborn-âÂ
âOh that I am, and I will burn this city to the ground, starting today, until you come back to me.âÂ
You just wanted to get a new body soap.Â
You cross your arms and stare up at him with as much defiance one could muster in front of a 8ft tall behemoth.Â
âIs that all? You mentioned begging if I remember.â
âYou better come back to me if I have to get on my knees and beg, woman.âÂ
You grin slightly, trying to hold back a full smile of absolute enjoyment.Â
"Crimson Sea"
A short piece of writing that I really needed to write and decided to share with you.
TW : death, mentions of self-harm, angst, reflection, pain
I wish I could take my soul out and cradle it close to my heart.Â
Cherish it, gaze at it, understand it.Â
For, sometimes, I barely recognize myself.Â
I always took pride in being aware of my failures, in being able to reflect and take action.Â
But I canât anymore. Iâm struggling to.Â
I wish to give up, lay down and never open my eyes again.
I wish to drift off in the distant quiet sea, not hearing the quiet whispers of gossip, not seeing the stares of disappointment and disgust, not feeling the arms wrapping around me in a half-hearted hug, wondering how someone whoâs had it all, could fail so spectacularly.Â
The little girl I was years ago, would wonder too. Â
I wonder as well. There was a time, not months ago, where I wished to die, so ardently, that it consumed my every thought.Â
When I saw the cars going down the street across my bus stop, when I watched the train come in front of me on my way to the mall on weekends, when I went to sleep, when I saw my crimson drip, wishing it would come bursting out of my stems like rose petals and put an end to my self-induced misery.Â
But thatâs over now, somewhat. So what is wrong?Â
I was given a second chance, so why do I ache so?Â
Why do I wish to throw it all away and let the tender quiet of the sea take me again, let the crimson petals bloom and drip down my stem?Â
I want to wrench, cut, tear, and open.Â
I want to see whatâs inside, what is wrong?Â
Can it be fixed? Can it be put back together, mended like Kintsugi, so that I may at least live like a mere semblance of how I used to?Â
I want to be good. I want to be smart, I want to be happy, I want to disappear, I want to have dreams, I want to have my family, I deserve to suffer, I want friends, I want a life.Â
I always enjoyed puzzles, mind games, I loved to try and fix things, understand them for hours on end.Â
But I cannot bear to really look at myself for more than a second, I want to ignore it, bury it all down and leave it there, hoping for it to disappear. The ache, the disgust, the hate, the disappointment.Â
But it comes back up, like bile rising up my throat. It suffocates me, forces me to look, acknowledge and suffer, because this is all my doing.Â
And I deserve it.
VAMP LOSER ALERT!! vampire x gn!reader
wc : 1,9k words
TW : blood, rat eating I guess?, suggestive comment, loser behavior
What if you were going home after a long, excruciating day of college, feeling elated at the thought of letting your head hit the pillow in your studio apartment, and hibernate for the next 24 hours, but it sounds like today is not your lucky day! ( or is it?) You just had to run into one of the deadliest creatures that haunts the night and have seduced the masses through media for decades, a vampire.Â
But⊠The thing is, you donât know if you should be scared. Because heâs fucking pathetic.Â
There you stand, in front of your apartment door, keys in hand, watching this absolute loser trip over his cape before straightening up and clearing his throat, a flush on his pale cheeks.Â
âAhem⊠You will forget about this little incident right this moment, because I so wish it!â He shouts, unnecessarily loud while making strange hand gestures.Â
Was he trying to hypnotise you? And failing?Â
You stare at him blankly, and quite frankly tired from your day.Â
âAre you having a stroke, sir?â
He trips over his words, his pointy ears going red.
âHow dare you⊠you- insignificant little mortal! I have not, nor shall I ever suffer from mortal ailments the likes of a cardiac arrest, and I shall-â you cut him off with a sigh.Â
âWhat do you want? Its 6pm, Iâm feeling like absolute shit, I donât have time for whatever method acting youâre doing-â
He scoffs and throws his head back with dramatic flair before approaching you, not tripping over his cape this time.Â
âI am here, because I have taken interest in you, yes, and you should feel honored! Very few humans can capture the attention of a creature of the night, so I will let your earlier disrespect slide and generously allow you to become my pet-... human?!â
He bellows and looks around, you are gone, having opened your door and got inside your apartment while the fool was too distracted doing his arrogant speech.Â
He proceeded to pound against your door for minutes.Â
After an hour, youâve had it. It was the weekend, your only respite from college, studying in a major that you honestly despised, and you were not going to let this man, whoever he is, ruin your night of binge watching shows youâve already seen ten times over while scarfing down microwaved noodles.Â
You stomp up to your front door, and practically wrench it open with sheer anger.Â
âFucking what?!âÂ
He stares at you, mouth open like a fish, thatâs when you notice his frankly attractive fangs peaking out. And you kind of wish you had the money for such expensive veneers.Â
âThe audacity of you! You mere mortal, how dare you humiliate me after I've declared my flame to you so readily!â He snaps and crosses his arms like a child.Â
âYou called me⊠a human pet, how does that amount to a confession?! And whatâs with the weird vocabulary anyways? Is this some weird prank?âÂ
He looks even more livid than before, and bares his fangs in a quite frankly, cringy way, like a hissing cat. You make a face and he seems to notice that his attempt at intimidation has failed.Â
âI-Itâs a work in progress.â He clears his throat.Â
âThat was embarrassing-âÂ
âAnd Iâll have you know that this is no prank! I am vampyr!â
âYeah okayâŠâ You roll your eyes slightly, the fatigue of the day finally getting to you. âWhatever you say.â
âLet me inside.â He commands.Â
âNo.â
His eyes widen comically wide, his expression morphing into that of a kicked puppy. Does he even realise how non- threatening he looks?
âPardon me? Why?!âÂ
You cross your arms, stifling a laugh, why not play along to this charade?Â
âYou must be very old right, being a vampire and all?â
âWhy yes, obviously, Iâll have you know that I hail from Wallachia, born in the fifteenth century in one of the most noble families the world has known.â
He proceeds to flip his cape, nearly slapping himself in the face.Â
âAnd yet nobody taught you manners? Whatâs the magic word?â
He suddenly goes quiet, his face forming into a scowl. He turns his face away with a huff and mutters a little :Â
âpleaseâŠâÂ
You lean forward, putting your hand against your ear.Â
âhm? What was that?â
âI said please let me in!â He snaps his face back towards yours.Â
You take a moment to think, humming for a long, long time.Â
â...No.âÂ
And you slam the door in his face. You head back to your bed, putting your earphones in to block out his loud whining.Â
But you wish it just stopped there. This man was obstinate.Â
Everytime you finished studying late at the library of your university, and it was dark by the time you left, there he was, stalking you in a very obvious way. Tripping over his cape several times, hissing at people getting too close to you and whispering way too loudly about how much of a great vampire he was.Â
Which, you knew he really was at this point, a vampire.Â
Because you caught him feeding on a rat in a dark alley, eyes blazing red. It was horrifying but mostly disgusting.Â
Your face just morphed into the biggest scowl of disgust you could muster, before letting out an âeughhâ and fleeing the scene.Â
He was very embarrassed, saying a vampire should never be seen feeding on such an âunsightly creatureâ, but that he was âfamishedâ.Â
It kind of reassured you in a way? That he was an actual vampire and not some insane guy that convinced himself that he was, to the point of eating rats in the streets.
Still, you had a fucking vampire stalking you, and love bombing you any chance he got.Â
But he was still an absolute loser.Â

"Likeness in Blood"
Prologue, Chapter 1
TW : violence, blood, murder,
WC: 1,6k
I donât know how much time has passed, with the snow and fog surrounding me. I did not try to get up or move away from the crimson eyes of the wolf, that had gone a pale, ugly grey.Â
It was truly gone now, our connection broken. I stood up, unnaturally fast yet feeling sluggish, as if I was out of my body.Â
I walked back towards the city, with a clearer mind. And finally realised a few things that I had been denying myself.Â
I was turned into a creature of the night, I ate a goddamn wolf and ripped its eyes out before cradling them to my chest in the cold snow.Â
I let out a nervous chuckle as guile rises up my throat.Â
I mustâve gone completely mad. That must be it. This is not real.Â
I walk back to my home mechanically, out of the few people walking the streets late at night, no one seemed to pay attention to my blood soaked face and clothes, and crimson eyes.Â
I could not be perceived by them if I did not wish it, blending in the shadows of the night as one.Â
Being back in the warmth of my apartment building, and away from the cold was not comforting this time around. The warmth I so loved to come back to everyday, felt suffocating.Â
I climb the stairs and practically throw myself through my front door once I reach it. I lock the door shut with shaky, bloodstained hands that had torn through flesh a mere hour ago.Â
I slump to the floor, cradling my head. I claw, and scratch and sob, my flesh falling in red ribbons off my face, just to heal and reform seconds after.Â
âWhy me?â I sob out between wails of pain. âWhy me? Why?âÂ
He shouldâve let me die.Â
I thought he was an angel, pulling me from under the rubble, to take my soul to heaven at last. I had led a miserable, lonely life but I had been good, I was always good.Â
I heard the stories of vampires. That cloaked angel- no, demon, vampire⊠He took my soul, I felt it drain away with my blood down his throat, greedily. He took it.Â
There is no salvation for me. No heaven, I wonât get to see Mama again.Â
I close my eyes with a shudder.Â
His hands, cold, and frozen, cradled my head with gentleness. My eyes were blurry, my ears were ringing, I was in pain.Â
It ached.Â
Everything did.Â
I stare up at the cloaked angel, trying to blink the blurriness away.Â
I could feel something warm and sticky, sliding down my neck, as black spots danced around my vision.Â
And then a few cold drops dripped on my lips, like fresh rain. I wheezed slightly, parting my lips to catch the liquid. It was like a sleeping pill, and everything went quiet, all I could feel was the cold hand coaxing my lips to part more.Â
âJust a little more, little one, youâll be just fine.â
That voice⊠It was deep, soft, unbearably gentle. Heâs an undead creature of the night, an abomination, they are not meant to be gentle.Â
But he was more gentle than anyone had ever been to me. But my mamaâs words scream in my mind violently
âThey are devils, unfeeling abominations of nature and if you donât pray dutifully like I tell you to, girl, they will come for you.âÂ
But I had been good, I prayed- I pray every single day so why?Â
I am one of them now. And I feel sick, because I felt free.Â
When I pounced on that wolf, held it down and tore it apart, I felt strong for the first time in my life.Â
I mustâve, most definitely, lost my mind.
My mind is screaming at me. I shouldâve died, I felt free, I feel sick, I need to die, I donât want to die, not again.
Then it finally goes quiet. I take a deep breath, I do not want to die, that I was certain of. My salvation was taken from me, but I will continue to live my life to the end, in this damned, unholy body but I will not throw up my hands and give up like I've done many times. Â
And so I stood up, took a bath and cleaned myself. I will not relent until I find who did this to me.Â
"Likeness In Blood"
Prologue, Chapter 1
Summary : "Likeness In Blood" is an original story I came up with, that will be surrounded around the myth of the vampire. Not certain what the exact plot will be yet but enjoy the prologue!
TWs : blood, violence, death, gore
WC : 1k
It aches.Â
The city lights, which used to be a mere line of cloudy little stars when I looked at them without my glasses, are now nearly burning my retina with a force that could only be conjured by actual stars. My glasses, that lay broken and forgotten at my side, not anymore broken than they were before, after years of putting them back together with tape.Â
My glasses, my crutches to sight no more. I could see everything.Â
And it aches.Â
It burns, like staring at the sun for too long, but unable to look away.Â
Mere street lights, the same ones iâve been walking by for years, looked magnificent, vibrant this particular night.Â
After all, everything did.Â
It feels like putting on glasses for the first time, finally seeing the world clearly, but this time, it is not only with one sense.Â
I could hear the trees whisper, their tired branches groaning in the white of the harsh snow, the overwhelming sound scratching at my ears over and over.Â
Same as the howl of the wind, blowing in my ear like the wraiths I used to be afraid of as a child.Â
I donât remember where I am. I donât remember what happened.Â
But it aches.Â
The cold snow beneath my body didn't feel unnatural. It is strange.Â
Mama always used to say that I was very warm.Â
But tonight, my body was cold, not I. I wasnât cold, but my body, from my head to my toes was as frozen as ice, as immovable as a marble statue, as limp as Mamaâs corpse the last time I held it.Â
But I did not feel anything, no hypothermia, no blue fingertips, no shivering.Â
I did not feel anything but the ache. The ache from the stars in the street lights, the ache from the wraiths in the snow. The ache, deep in the pit of my belly.Â
I was hungry. Unbelievably so.Â
Once I finally could will my body to move, I sat up, with much difficulty, my limbs stiff and tingling.Â
And I stood up, and I walked. And walked.Â
Away from the street lights, towards the trees and their groaning branches, screaming in my ear like banshees.Â
I wanted to go back to the city, I wanted to go home. I was tired, I was hungry.Â
One could say that I had lost my sanity. But for the first time in many years, I was thinking straight. I knew what I wanted, what I needed, and this is where I would find it.Â
