its the fact that nat saw the tree with the cave javi was staying in in episode one. she said it's weird that this tree still has moss on it, it's weird that the snow around this tree is melted, it's weird that this tree is still showing signs of life. its the fact she not only remembered it but used it as a landmark in episode two, we'll meet up at that weird mossy tree. i have to wonder if she'd stayed there just a little longer, if travis hadn't pulled her away, would she have found it? would she have found javi?

i think a really underrated part of yellowjackets is their comedic cuts. in the pilot shauna goes as long as no one does anything stupid, we're fine. and then IMMEDIATELY cut to adult nat with a hunting rifle, presently on her way to do something very stupid. in 204 when mari and akilah talk about how they hope lottie's okay and mari says of course she is. and then immediately cut to lottie, leaving a trail of blood in her wake, hallucinating the dead hunters plane and passed out from hypothermia. truly the ceos of show dont tell
