Decided to write our Red meeting new timeline Red. Bon appetit.
"You know," the Other Red says, a grin on her face. Not a malicious one. It's almost cheeky. "All things considered, we don't actually look too different."
Red doesn't reply. She's not sure how to. She's never literally had to face herself before. She wonders if this what the Other her was really like, or if this is some kind of weird dream.
"Same face, same voice," Other Red continues to muse. She takes a strand of the originals hair into her hand. She doesn't yank it, but simply twirls it around her finger. "Similar-ish hair. Just our clothes are different."
She isn't wrong. Red can see that. There's a sort of casual elegance to the Other Her's style that Red can't quite put her finger on. Other Red wears dark, well, red with hints of pink and white, a contrast with original Red's brighter shade of red with hints of Black.
"I'm sorry," Red eventually manages to blurt out. Other Her looks at her with a curios look. "I really didn't mean to steal your life-"
She's cut off by Other Red laughing. It's not a mocking laugh. That somehow makes Red feel worse.
"I'm not mad at you, dummy," Other Red says, and she sounds genuine. "It'd be pretty stupid if I was. I mean, you're me. Just a little different."
"So... You're not angry that I stole your life?" Red asks, only feeling more and more confused.
"I mean, I wouldn't say I'm particularly happy about it. I miss Pink and Mom a lot." There's a hint of sadness in Other Red's voice when she talks about Pink and Mom. "But you've got them now. I'm sure they'll be okay. Besides..."
Other Red takes step forward. The two Red's are almost nose to nose now. Red squeezes her eyes shut as the Other Red whispers in her ear, or maybe in her own mind.
"We're becoming one in the same, aren't we?"
