Ozzy felt himself surfacing from the darkness of sleep. It seemed to him like only a few moments had past since he fluttered his eyes shut "for just a sec", but through the sleepy blur he could see the trafic racing down the branching vein roads at its hectic rush-hour pace. Apparently it was morning already, probably about time for Hector to be on his way to school.

He wished he could count this night's rest as a fulfilling one, but the stinging ache in his neck and the soreness in his eyes proved otherwise. With a lazy stretch of his arms, he took his time coming to, mindlessly scanning the room with a barely conscious gaze. The floor was littered with crumpled notes, newspaper cut-outs, some dented pencils and a case file thrown hastily to the side. In the corner of his eye, a bright blob of red rose and fell with each breath, still peacefully asleep.

Drix and him stayed up late last night in an attempt to piece together the case that's been on their hands for a few days at this point. And now, with a hearty hour and a half past their usual alarm, they were still sprawled out on the office floor with little to no progress made, Drix propped up half-seated against a wall and Ozzy drooping over the crook of his arm like jello.

Jones ran a hand over his face with a hushed groan and then lazily tapped his knuckles on the cold red shell of his partner's chest. Tok-tok-tok.

-Rise 'n shine, sleepin' beauty, - he huffed, not even bothering to look up and check if there was any semblance of a reaction.

And it wasn't like he needed to, really. Because after yet another heavy breath, a low rumble sounded from somewhere behind the chest plate under Ozzy's shoulder. The dispensers inside were setting into place with a soft whir as Drix stirred. The power-up hum of the gun, the squeak of the pelvic hinge - and there he finally was, peeking at his cell friend from under baggy eyelids. It took him a moment to muster up a reply.

-Ozzy? Are we... - he yawned, turning his head away politely for a second, - Are we getting up early today?
