Shimanami Tasogare

It is an amazing manga with an almost entirely LGBT+ cast and talks a lot about gender identity, sexuality and troubles faced by those within the LGBT+ community (especially for younger members). Also it is fucking BEAUTIFUL.

Kamatani Yuuki’s use of imagery and visual metaphors never fails to take my breath away.

Congrats on the marriage guys!

I’m so glad I pre-ordered the movie!!

Summary: Katsuki has feelings but refuses to admit it; Izuku has feelings but refuses to act on them. And just when they finally begin to understand each other, that fucks everything up. 

Or: What if Katsuki kissed Izuku at the end of their fight?

Info: Repressesed feelings and internalized homophobia, Dad Might, kinda slow burn, ANGST, Aizawa and Present Mic are a couple but they aren’t super public about it, Uraraka and Kirishima are very good friends to Izuku and Katsuki, eventual fluff and cuteness, lots of awkward romantic tension, Warning: Sexual Assault gets mentioned a couple of times but never ever happens.

“Are you willing to pay the Price?” The words echoed between them, resonant in a way that should have been impossible. They pressed on Katsuki’s bones, made his veins throb in sympathetic power.

Katsuki paused, narrowed coal-red eyes.

Was he willing?

Katsuki had crossed the Ocean of the Dead, braved the lava falls of Prominence Point, froze himself to the bone on the Great Ice Sheets. He had barred his teeth at the challenges thrown before him— by nature and man alike— and scoffed.

And this witch dared ask if he was willing?

“Do I look like a fucking coward to you, witch?” Katsuki snapped out, words explosive and whip-quick. “Do it.”

There was a pause, as the witch looked him over.

“Very well. It shall be so.” Flame rose up around him, swirled into a torrent of sparkling sparking fire. In a surge, it rushed at Katsuki, a red tide coming closer, closer—

He stood his ground. He was nothing and had nothing to lose, no glittering green eyes and no proud kings. He feared no price.

“You should have gone to the fourth witch.”

There is a place, at the edge of worlds, where all that can be heard is the silence of bells. Small and sonorous, large and quiet as a church mouse— all rung through this place, setting it alight with a melody unlike any other.

It was a place unlike any other, this witches’ sandbox. Here, ice and fire twinned in the air, creating currents of mist and smoke and magic.

It was a place on the breaking point, a stepping stone to somewhere. It was not nothing, but it was far from something, and it was here that Izuku first stirred. Deep in the mists of silence, sigil heavy across his chest and longing vice-tight across his throat, he sat as stone.

He heard nothing.

He heard nothing and then—

Bells.

In a rush, in a clamor, in a sound so terrible it shook his very bones, Izuku stumbled down through the ground that was not ground and then—

Katsuki expected pain, expected fire to melt the skin from his body and leave him naught but bone and emptiness and rage. He would have taken this— would have barred his teeth and roared out a battle cry.

This was for Izuku, his king, his liege. They had ridden together for time beyond count, and long had Katsuki stood by his side. With forest green hair fluttering in the wind, a cloak streaming behind him like a call to arms, Izuku would order him forward.

Go, Kacchan. He’d say, with the secretive smile of a childhood friend. Fight on, General. He’d say, with a king’s gravitas.

Always, always, had Katsuki been his sword and weapon.

He was a good knight.

But the third witch’s flame did not burn him. Ruby fire— the fire of Prominence, of blood, of debts taken and bought— licked across him, blinded him, left its mark in mind and memory.

It cored him out, drove into heart and soul but— but it did not kill him.

He should have known the witch would not be so kind— did know in the corner of his mind that observed the world like a jungle cat. A life as bright as Izuku’s would always cost more.

Compilations:

Idk if this has been done yet but I had an idea for the Fantasy AU! A kismet of events lead to the two Izuku’s to switch bodies and they are both desperately trying to get back to their own worlds. 

But while they’re stuck, Izuku has to learn how to use OFA and Deku has to learn to fight with a sword, and both Katsuki’s are stuck helping them! 

I actually wrote something for this that I’m going to put under the cut because it’s about 700 or so words, haha. I’m not sure if I’m going to flesh this out into a full fic or not, but I had fun writing this!
