Who Gave Us Fire

I haven't uploaded anything to this blog in possibly 10 years (how does that even work??) so if you're still here to see this, you get to see some very old simple sketches for random characters.

Also just saw that the drawing for Peach was drawn in 2015. That was 11 years ago. What the hell. I guess this is my Own New Hell now.

I've never given up on ONS completely, just like has always been the case for as long as I've had this story (hard to believe that the story is nearly 20 years old now), but life has absolutely pushed it to the back burner for several years running now. Still, it's what my brain goes to for creative release almost as a default, so I'm still chugging away at it. There's a lot that's changed since I last talked to almost anyone about the story itself.

Progress for day 1, a new character. Not as much progress done as desired, but progress nonetheless.

So here we have the first installment of the series I am calling “Dank Memes.” Draw the squads for all of the characters! Hopefully this way you can get to know them at least a little bit.

Here we have from left to right: Ayden Byer, Vanessa Bay, Trace Babcock, Ian Kranz, May Ettinger, and Pasha Konstantinov. Pasha is trying to ignite a magic-school-camp romance, and it’s almost working. Almost. Poor Ian. And of course, Ayden approves of absolutely everything gay. One thing you should probably know is that almost none of my characters are straight. The gay is strong in these fucks.

Jason’s “fuck you” situation would be someone arguing that national parks aren’t important and should be abolished, and Tanisha’s situation would be from someone saying that gaudy gold jewelry is overrated and ugly. John’s would probably be something along the lines of “gardening is a woman’s hobby” (he really likes gardening), and George’s would be that men can’t wear/don’t look good in skirts.

Snapshot of a WIP I’m working on right now! I haven’t drawn this character in such a long time, and I really miss her. She’s one of my favorite characters. And she’s as icy and cold as Yukia is~

Do you know when you’re done with a drawing? When you don’t want to add anything else. My gosh was this fun though.

A very red, orange, and yellow Jason. My gold pyramid earrings would be his in a heartbeat, though this would also work with my gold 3D triangle earrings, too.

You guys thought that this blog was dead, didn’t you? Nah mate.

This is the second picture in the humanoid series. Not only is Rahae here a spirit, but she’s also a yarumonarushi! And adorably small. She’s 4′11″. Short n sassy.

She’s currently a nitrogen spirit in the air! Though I should point out that gas spirits usually do not have this much metal on them. Rahae’s element is Earth, so she feels most comfortable with lots of metal on.

She’s also bending some nitrogen, too (the white gas trails). Just enough to make it visible as she’s flying, but it’s still bending. You can also see nitrogen chakra (blue) next to her hands and foot! That’s pretty common for when you’re bending.

Whoops.

First drawing of the new series!

This is Kyuubi Kasumi, who is Rachael Pisano’s shinokai life (Rachael is a Kaeru Project kid who’s from Indy). She isn’t an incredibly important character until ONH. Plus she’s a cutie with a really tragic backstory because apparently I love pain and torture.

She’s a very traditional kyuubi, though she’s also very up to date with technology (mainly because of her life as Rachael). Here we see her traveling in the Northern Earth country with her favorite walking stick (which she’s carved an owl onto the top of). She’s probably already traveled a while, because she’s taken out her leg wraps. They help her calves from burning and swelling further, though if you tie them too tight it cuts off circulation. Her purple lace flats also show that she’s probably going to stick to soft ground and not even try to go into the mountains. And of course, the twine tied to her arm is just in case. You never know when you’re too lazy to catch a rabbit yourself.
