The story of you
Summary; Yours and Morganâs journey from a family of three to a family of four.
Been trying to post this for hours kept deleting, then deleting from my drafts then wouldnât let me make a post at all â Iâve had to delete the app and try again, Iâm STRESSED! If I eventually get to post this please tell me itâs the best thing ever even if you hate it because Iâm cryin rn đ
The camera is propped up on a pile of baby books on the dresser. Youâre sat cross legged on the floor, attempting to organize a small mountain of baby clothes.
"Okay, so," you say to the lens, your voice hushed. "Weâve had the talk. Weâre officially trying for number two! It feels wild saying it out loud, considering Tilly was such aâ"
"A total accident?"
You jump, twisting around. Morgan is leaning against the doorframe, a â1st Birthdayâ teddy bear in his hand and that infuriatingly smug grin on his face.
"Shut up, knobhead, I was going to say 'surprise'." You roll your eyes, suppressing a laugh.
He chuckles, moving into the room and dropping down to sit right behind you. He sets the toy aside and pulls you back against his chest, his arms looping firmly around your waist. He leans his chin on your shoulder, squinting at the small camera screen.
"Weâre just being honest, Trouble" he says, his voice dropping to that lower, softer tone he only uses with you. He presses a kiss to your temple, then looks at the lens.
"Survived a year of parenthood and now weâre trying to add another one to the chaos. What could possibly go wrong?"
"Exactly.â You lean back into him, feeling the familiar comfort of his heartbeat against your spine. âAnd if it goes wrong, Iâm blaming you."
"Yeah, yeah," he says, squeezing your waist. "Whatever you say, Princess."
You let your head fall back looking up at him through your long lashes, his soft blue eyes meeting yours for a moment before flashing back to the camera.
âAnyways hopefully next time you see us sheâs successfully pissed on a stick!â Morgan claps, ending the segment.
Tilly was perched on your hip as you waited for your 3 minute timer to go. Minutes stretching on for hours.
âI know itâs probably negative, itâs only month one of tryingâ Your voice soft as you bounced the one year old gently on your hip.
Flipping over the test you tried to hide the disappointment from your face. One glaringly obvious, clearly negative, singular pink line staring back at you.
âThatâs okayâ you cooed, still bouncing the babbling Tilly. âJust round one, we got plenty of time havenât we Tilly girl?â
In the next clip you were standing in the same spot, Morgan had his strong arms around you, leaving kisses in your hairline as the result sunk in.
âItâs okay princess, not like trying to get one in there is a terrible choreâ he teased squeezing your hips.
You let out a sigh as you twisted in his arms, your own coming up and encircling his neck.
âItâs been three months squish!â You pouted up to him.
âYou had no symptoms this month though have you, trouble?â His hands tighten on your waist as he consoles you. âJust not the right time yet, try not to stress too much.â
âI think it means you need to get your mum to babysit and take me on another date night.â You tease to break the slight tension thatâs built.
âOh yeah? Sure it does, dickhead.â He laughed as the clip cut.
A series of similar clips showed, some with Morgan, some with Tilly and some of you by yourself. Always in the same spot, camera balanced on the sink with the plastic test upside down just in shot as you counted down with the viewers.
Unfortunately, every test had the same increasingly devastating negative result once the timer was up.
And in each clip it was getting harder to mask the disappointment and heartbreak from flashing in your features as you flipped the plastic stick over.
âSo everyone keeps telling me I need to be relaxed and stop tryingâ you opened up the vlog from the passenger seat of Morganâs car.
âSo daddy back there,â the camera briefly panned to Morgan who could be seen, and heard, strapping Matilda into her car seat. âIs on a mission to help me relax, and heâs looked up healthy recipes that are meant to promote fertility⌠however the idea of a boneless banquet is really appealing right now.â
âHey,â Morgan calls from behind you, âIf momma wants kfc we can get kfc, forget the vegetables for a day. Itâs self care, innit?â
âTilly will be two soon and sheâs not got a baby sibling yet.â you mutter.
âWe see the doctor next week, donât get too in your head about it readerâ He spoke softly as he got behind the wheel, one of his hands reaching out to cup your face. âI donât think little lady is too bothered stealing all our attention for herself at the minute anyway.â
Almost to prove his point Matilda started shouting for attention from the back seat.
The camera was wobbling as you cried in Matildaâs dark nursery, only the soft glow of her nightlight illuminating the room.
âI feel like such a fraudâ you sobbed, âI already have the most perfect baby right there! But every time itâs just one line there I feel a grief for something that never existed.â
Tilly was asleep in her cot, now taking up much more space at 22 months old. She had her arm and leg outstretched to her side as she lay on her tummy, the same way Morgan slept wrapped around you every night.
âThe doctor said Iâve got unexplained infertility, medically I should be able to give Tilly a sibling⌠my body just wonâtâ you harshly rubbed at your face to get rid of the tear tracks. âI donât know why Iâm so upset because at least I get to be her mummy, and being her mum really is my favourite thing ever.â
You were looking solemnly at your sleeping daughter as you cried, taking in her soft features while she slept.
âIt was so easy with her, we didnât even have to try! I was on the pill and we still somehow got herâ you whispered towards the camera. âI started this vlog ten months ago⌠which realistically isnât even that long ago but, part of me expected to be about to give birth or already have a newborn by now... Maybe I was dumb for thinking that itâd happen so quickly?â
Nervous laughter followed your sentence as your fingers anxiously twisted through the ends of your hair.
âAnyway I should probably go to bed before Morgan wakes up and comes looking for me, if he sees me crying over our sleeping daughter again he might think Iâm crazyâ
The frame shook as you stood up, using the sleeve of your hoodie to wipe the remaining tears away as you smiled gently into the lens.
âTo clarify I donât cry over her a lot, but mums will know those first few weeks of having a newborn and post partum emotions sometimes you do be crying during the night feeds because you canât believe you actually created a cuter perfect mini version of your feral ginger boyfriendâ
The next clip opened mid conversation.
ââdonât think I can piss on another stick this month actually,â you muttered, phone balanced against the bathroom mirror instead of the usual spot on the sink.
Morganâs laugh came from somewhere behind the camera.
âBit difficult to know if youâre pregnant then, innit?â
You rolled your eyes weakly, though the joke barely landed this time. Tilly, now fully in her Iâm two and Iâm the boss now era, banged tiny hands against the bathroom door from the hallway.
âMummyyyy!â
âOne second baby!â You pinched the bridge of your nose before looking back toward the lens.
âI justâŚâ your shoulders lifted helplessly. âI already know what itâs gonna say before I even check.â
Morgan appeared in the reflection behind you then, quieter than usual as he wrapped his arms around your waist from behind.
âYou donât know for sure, babe.â
You didnât answer. The clip cut before the timer finished.
Another clip, another month. The camera wasnât even steady this time, just loosely held in your hand as you sat in bed, the room bathed in the soft, blue light of your phone screen.
âWe didnât film the test,â you said quietly. Behind you, Morgan was dead to the world, face down across the mattress with one arm hanging limply off the edge of the bed.
âI dunno. It just felt a bitâŚâ You shrugged, your gaze dropping to your lap. âSad.â You took a breath, forcing a lighter, brighter tone as you looked back into the lens.
âBut! On the bright side, apparently stress is the enemy, so Morganâs officially banned me from watching my missing children documentaries.â
Half-asleep, Morganâs muffled, gravelly voice drifted across the room, barely audible.
âYou were scaring yourself, Trouble.â
âYou snore like a lawnmower, you knobhead.â You rolled your eyes, a small, genuine smile tugging at your lips.
âYou still shag me though,â he mumbled into the pillow, not even bothering to lift his head.
That finally pulled a real, unforced laugh from you, the tension in your shoulders dropping for the first time all day.
The camera sat on the coffee table, capturing the scene from a low, slightly awkward angle â the way it always did lately.
Tilly was in the middle of a serious, high-stakes operation. Sheâd wrapped one of Morganâs hoodies around her doll and she was currently pacing the rug, shushing the air with the frantic intensity only a two-year-old is capable of.
âDaddy get me a real babyâ Tilly chirped, coming to a stop in front of Morgan. âI share my Pooh-bear!â
You didn't look at the camera; you were too busy trying to keep your expression neutral. You glanced over at Morgan. He was sat on the rug in front of her, halfway through building a tower of blocks, but his hands had gone still.
"A real one, eh?" Morgan said, his voice soft as he spoke to your daughter. He didn't look at you, just kept his eyes on Tilly, though his grip on a wooden block was a little too tight.
Tilly nodded enthusiastically, nearly tripping over the oversized hoodie pooled around her ankles.
âYeah! Tiny baby.â She held her hands up dramatically to demonstrate. âThisssss big.â
Morgan let out a quiet hum, the kind he did lately whenever he was trying very hard to sound normal.
âAnd what if the baby cries all night, hmm?â he asked, reaching out to steady her before she face planted into the blocks. âWhat then?â
âI sing!â she announced confidently.
âOh yeah?â His mouth twitched faintly. âReckon thatâll work?â
Tilly nodded with the unwavering confidence only toddlers possessed before toddling over to you instead, shoving the doll into your lap.
âYou practice mummy.â
Your breath caught so subtly the camera probably didnât even pick it up. Morgan looked up then, just for a second. Neither of you said anything but, there was something exhausted in his expression now. Something carefully controlled.
You forced a smile for Tillyâs sake, adjusting Morganâs hoodie around the doll automatically.
âThank you baby.â
âShe cold,â Tilly explained seriously. âNeed mummyâs magic cuddles.â
âYeah?â you whispered, eyes burning suddenly as you cradled the doll against your chest.
The room went quiet except for the soft sound of Cocomelon playing faintly from the TV.
Morgan cleared his throat after a moment, dropping the block back onto the rug with a dull clack.
âCâmere monkey,â he said gently, opening his arms toward Tilly. âDaddy needs help building this tower before mummy starts crying at cartoons again.â
âI donât cry at cartoonsâ you muttered defensively, swiping quickly beneath one eye. Morganâs eyes flickered toward you briefly.
âYou cried at that bluey episode for forty five minutes.â
âBecause auntie Brandyâs infertile, Morgan!â
âMummy say bad word.â Tilly gasped dramatically, pointing at you.
Morgan barked out a startled laugh while you buried your face in the doll for a second, mortified
âNot that kind of bad word, baby,â he managed between laughs, reaching to scoop Tilly into his lap.
The camera kept recording for another few seconds.
Morgan pressing absent kisses into Tillyâs hair while she squirmed in his arms. You sat curled against the sofa clutching the doll a little too tightly.
And despite the laughter that had softened the moment, Morgan still looked at you the same way he always did lately, like he was trying to figure out how to carry heartbreak for the both of you.
The camera is propped on the dresser, filming you as you haphazardly stack boxes of toddler shoes. You pause, leaning against the dresser, looking directly into the lens.
"Were doing the bed transition, right? And Morgan is doing the 'supportive dad' thing, trying to make it a big, happy event. But I hate it! I really thought thereâd be a baby ready to move into her cot when she was ready to move out of it."
You sighed as you busied yourself with reorganising the bookcase, replacing the books with far more force than required. The hardbacks thudding against the wood filling the short silence.
âAnd people keep saying to us when they see the three us together itâs a âperfect timeâ to give her a sibling, total strangers too by the way. As if I donât know. As if I havenât been wanting to give her a sibling since she was like 6 months old!â
You stop, one book held mid-air, and let out a sharp, incredulous laugh.
âItâs like they think weâre just... not doing it? Or that weâre waiting for the 'right vibe'? I swear, if one more person tells me to 'not think about it and just have a drunk night together,' I might actually lose the plot.â
You shove the book into the shelf, the movement sharp and jagged. You look back at the camera, your voice dropping to that hushed, secretive tone.
âI used to love the spontaneity of it, you know? With Morgan? Like we all have eyes heâs so attractive, heâs my best friend â it used to be the best part of our day. But now? Iâm all âWill this position help with conception?â or âQuick! sheâs napping, weâve got at least 10 minutes, Iâm ovulating.â Itâs not even fun anymore. Itâs like a shift.â
You lean back against the shelf, looking defeated.
âItâs good because itâs with him, obviously. But I dread it. I can see the dread in his face, too, which somehow makes it worse. Itâs like weâre both just performing. I look at him and I know heâs only doing it because he knows how much I want this, and heâs trying to be the âgood husband.â And Iâm only doing it because an app told me itâs the âoptimal day.ââ
You rub a hand over your eyes, your voice thick.
âI miss being a wife who just⌠wanted her husband. Iâm so tired of being a patient who needs a result. Does that make me a bad mum? For wanting more when Iâve already got the most perfect little thing in the other room? I feel like Iâm constantly mourning a life I don't even have, while trying to ignore the guilt of not being happy enough with the life I do have.â
You walk toward the camera, your movements slower now, the initial rush of anger replaced by that hollow, creeping exhaustion. You lean in, your face filling the frame, eyes reddened and tired.
âThe worst part is that I know heâs hurting too. But heâs so busy trying to keep the fun version of himself alive for me that heâs forgotten how to just be sad.â
You let out a shaky breath, your gaze dropping to the floor. The silence in the room is absolute now, no toddler giggles, no Morgan, just the hum of the camera.
âAnyway. Thatâs enough. Iâm making this a pity party, arenât I?â You sniff, rubbing your nose with the back of your hand and forcing a bright, brittle tone that doesn't reach your eyes. âTilly needs her snack and Iâve got a big girl room to finish tidying. Life goes on, right?â
The camera flickers on shakily, still blurry before focusing on the bathroom sink. Youâre standing there in one of Morganâs oversized hoodies, nervously twisting your hair. Morgan is beside you, half-asleep, his ginger hair sticking up in every direction, squinting through heavy eyes.
âIâm five days late,â you breathe into the quiet room. âI didnât want to say anything⌠I thought if I said it out loud, my period would start out of spite.â
âBit rude of your uterus, that,â he murmurs. Itâs almost a laugh, but it doesn't quite reach his eyes.
You offer a weak smile, but it vanishes as quickly as it appeared. Morgan rubs a hand down his face, his expression sharpening as the reality settles in.
âHave you looked yet?â
You shake your head. âIâm scared to.â
The words land heavy. After eighteen months, the fear isn't just about disappointment anymore; itâs about that familiar, hollow humiliation of the negative result.
âWeâll do it together,â Morgan says. He starts pacing â just short, jagged laps across the tiny floor before stopping right beside you.
âYouâre stressing me out,â you mutter, your gaze fixed on the white plastic test sitting on the edge of the sink.
âYou think Iâm not stressed?â
âYou never get stressed anymore.â The words slip out before you can stop them. Morgan goes quiet. Itâs true â over the last year and a half, heâd stopped letting himself believe enough to feel the nerves. Heâd built a wall of stoicism to protect you both.
He lets out a slow, steadying breath and reaches for the test, handling it carefully, as if it might shatter under his touch.
You donât look at the stick. You watch his face. You see the confusion hit, then the disbelief, and finally, something dangerously close to hope.
âMorgan?â your voice is a whisper.
âThereâs⌠thereâs something there.â He turns the test toward you, his hand trembling slightly.
The line is faint, fainter than a heartbeat, but it is there. A distinct, stubborn slash of color against the white.
Your hand flies to your mouth. Morgan lets out a startled, breathless laugh.
âTold you your uterus was just being dramatic.â
âOh my god,â you choke out, tears flooding your vision. Morgan is staring at the test as if itâs the most offensive, beautiful thing heâs ever seen.
âThatâs a line,â he says, his voice thick with wonder. âThatâs actually a line.â
You start to sob, laughing through the mess of it as Morgan grabs your face with both hands, his thumbs catching your tears.
âHey, hey, donât cry yet, we donâtââ
âI canât help it!â
âYouâre gonna make me cry, and Iâm meant to be the emotionally stable one.â
âYouâve never been emotionally stable,â you sniff, a watery laugh escaping you.
âThat is slander.â He kisses you then. Hard, desperate and smiling against your mouth.
Downstairs, the sound of tiny footsteps thuds against the floor, followed by Tillyâs muffled yell for breakfast. Reality rushes back in.
The next clip opens in absolute darkness. The only sound is your jagged, hitching breathing as you struggle to balance the camera on your knees.
Morgan is sat beside you, anchoring you to his side, his lips pressed softly against your hairline.
Above you, caught in the faint glow of the cameraâs light, sits the graveyard of your efforts: a pack of tampons, a bottle of fertility vitamins and a box of unused ovulation tests.
âSo⌠she got her period during the night,â Morgan explains softly.
Youâre crying into his shoulder, your body shaking with a heartbreak so deep it feels exhausting.
Morganâs hand rests firmly on your back, rubbing slow, steady circles. He doesnât tell you itâll be okay. He doesnât tell you to stop crying. He just holds you in the dark, and for the first time, he doesn't look like heâs trying to keep the âfunâ version of himself alive.
The camera is propped up on the edge of the bathroom sink â not for a test this time, just because habit makes you reach for it whenever things feel too heavy to hold alone.
Youâre sat on the edge of the bath in one of Morganâs hoodies, fingers twisting at the ends of your hair. The bathroom light is dim, casting tired shadows beneath your eyes.
âSo,â you say eventually, voice quieter than usual. âWe had a talk.â You swallow hard. âAnd I think⌠weâre done trying.â
The words donât sound real out loud, like they belong to somebody else. From somewhere downstairs, Tillyâs laugh echoes faintly through the house followed by the sound of the Bluey theme tune. It makes your expression crumple for half a second before you pull it back together.
âWeâre not buying ovulation tests anymore,â you continue softly. âOr pregnancy tests. I deleted the tracking apps.â A weak laugh leaves you. âWhich honestly felt a bit like deleting a tiny little dictator whoâd been ruining my life for a 20 months.â You rub tiredly at your face.
âI just canât keep doing the cycle of convincing myself every month is different and then feeling stupid when it isnât.â The camera shakes slightly as you adjust it.
âAnd I miss my husband.â The confession comes out barely above a whisper. âNot physically, I mean heâs literally downstairs making dinosaur nuggets with our toddlerââ
A faint THEYâRE FUCKIN BURNT! echoes from downstairs. Despite yourself, your mouth twitches.
âBut I miss us. I miss kissing him without thinking about ovulation windows. I miss him touching me without both of us silently wondering if maybe thisâll finally be the time it works.â Your eyes start filling before you can stop them. âI miss when we were just stupidly obsessed with each other.â
The bathroom door creaks open then and Morgan appears, ketchup bottle in hand and a tea towel flung over his shoulder.
âLanguage,â he shouts automatically down the stairs before looking at you properly. His face changes instantly, the sauce bottle gets abandoned on the sink. âOh, Trouble.â
âNo, itâs okay. Iâm okay.â You shake your head quickly, embarrassed by the tears now falling, but your voice cracks on the last word.
Morgan crouches in front of you immediately, hands settling on your knees.
âYou donât have to do that with me.â
And thatâs what finally breaks you because he sounds tired too. Not frustrated, not angry, just tired in that deep, aching way people get when theyâve carried hope for too long.
âI think I need us back,â you whisper.
Morganâs face folds a little at that. His thumbs brush under your eyes gently.
âYou never lost us.â
âFeels like I did.â You let out a small sob-laugh. He leans forward then, resting his forehead against yours.
âWe made her,â he says quietly. âGot our tiny little psychopath downstairs singing the Bluey theme tune at chicken nuggets. Think we did alright, Princess.â
That gets a real laugh out of you through the tears.
Downstairs, Tilly suddenly screeches âMUMMY I NEED KETCHUP!â Morgan closes his eyes briefly.
âSee?â he mutters. âDream life.â
You laugh again, shakier this time, and he kisses your forehead softly. The camera keeps rolling a little longer.
Just long enough to catch the way Morgan stays kneeling between your legs even after the conversation ends, holding your hands like heâs terrified that if he lets go, youâll disappear into the grief again.
The camera is propped against a stack of laundry on the table, slightly crooked. The living room is a landscape of chaosâ toys, mismatched socks and half eaten snacks.
Tilly is sprawled across the rug, surrounded by a mountain of stationery she definitely doesn't need yet. She holds up a glittery pencil case like sheâs presenting a legal document.
âMummy,â she says with grave seriousness. âThis for important business.â
âWhat business?â you ask, your voice coming from behind the camera, warm and unhurried.
âMy important business.â Tilly shrugs, unbothered.
Morgan snorts from the dining table. Heâs hunched over, painstakingly ironing name labels into tiny school cardigans.
âSheâs definitely your child.â
âShe screams when the people on tv donât do what she wants, Morgan.â You deadpan. âSheâs yours.â
âThatâs necessary, that is.â
âYouâre ridiculous.â
The camera catches Morgan grinning. A real, full-blown grin, the kind thatâs been rare through the video. Youâre sat beside him, folding tiny socks into pairs. You arenât rushing, you aren't checking a clock or a phone app, youâre just there.
âTills,â Morgan calls out after a minute, holding a polo shirt up like evidence in a courtroom. âYouâre too little for this. Stop growing.â
âIâm big girl now!â she shouts, jumping up to prove it and immediately tripping over the oversized backpack she insisted on wearing.
You burst into laughter. Morgan doesn't even flinch he just reaches out, grabbing her by the hood of her jumper and hauling her upright in one practiced motion.
âTiny drunk person.â
âMummy! Daddy being rood!â Tilly gasps, dramatically.
âYou literally fell over air, babyâ you say, wiping a tear from your eye.
âShe gets that from you as well,â Morgan mutters, you kick his shin under the table. âOw! Domestic violence in front of the child.â
âYeah, Mummy! Vile-ence!â Tilly claps her hands.
You laugh until your sides ache, the camera shaking slightly as you lean back against your chair. The room feels full. Not because thereâs another heartbeat in the house and not because the ache of the last two years has vanished but because youâve stopped living in a waiting room.
Morgan glances over at you. His eyes linger, watching you laugh, his expression softening.
âYou alright?â he asks. The question is simple, stripped of the loaded fear it used to carry. You look around the room. The half-ironed clothes, the glitter pens scattered like confetti and the man who, despite everything, is still your best friend.
âYeah,â you say softly, and you mean it. âI really am.â
The camera continues to roll, capturing the way Morganâs gaze doesnât leave your face. His expression shifts; that guarded, supportive wall heâs been keeping up for months finally drops, replaced by a slow, knowing smirk.
âYou look nice,â he says, his voice dropping just a notch. âLike, actually nice. Not just mummy nice.â
You lean back, arching a brow at him, catching that familiar, mischievous glint in his eyes that you haven't seen in ages.
âAnd you,â you tease, resting your chin on your palm, âlook like youâre trying to start something.â
Morgan smirks as he kicks his chair back, the legs scraping against the floorboards, and he leans into your space not quite kissing you, but close enough that the air between you feels charged.
âMaybe I am,â he murmurs. âI think Iâve been a very patient man lately. Don't you?â
You laugh, a light, airy sound, and give his arm a playful shove.
âOh, have you? Is that what weâre calling it? Youâve been a nightmare, more like.â
He laughs, the sound genuine and unburdened. He reaches out, his hand sliding across the table to cover yours, his thumb tracing the back of your knuckles.
âA nightmare, huh? Just wait until Iâm off the clock, then youâll see.â
Tilly lets out a loud, frustrated grunt from the rug as she struggles with her pencil case zipper.
âMummy! Help!â
You tear your gaze away from him to look at Tilly, but you donât pull your hand out from under his. Youâre still grinning, that flirty, knowing look still plastered on your face.
âIn a second, Tills.â you call out, your voice bright, though your eyes go right back to Morgan.
He leans in a little closer, his voice dropping to a low, intimate murmur thatâs meant just for you, even if the camera is recording.
âDonât worry about the uniform labels,â he whispers, his eyes shimmering with cheeky intensity as he looks you up and down. âI think weâve got more important business to focus on for today.â
You feel your cheeks flush and you let out a shaky, breathless laugh. You give his hand a squeeze, leaning into him just enough to feel the solid warmth of his shoulder against yours.
âYouâre ridiculous,â you breathe, though youâre looking at him like heâs the only thing in the room.
Morgan just grins, that smug, familiar spark back in his eyes. He taps your hand twice before finally standing up to go help Tilly, but he leaves a lingering touch on your shoulder as he passes, his fingers brushing the back of your neck in a way that feels like a promise.
âGo on then,â he says, glancing back at you over his shoulder with a wink. âGo be a mum. Iâll be back for you in five.â
You watch him walk away, laughing to yourself, the knot in your chest completely gone. You reach for the camera, not with the frantic energy of someone trying to hide something, but with the relaxed, happy smile of a woman who finally has her life back.
You give the camera a final, playful smirk, and with a soft click, the screen goes black.
The camera is propped on the bathroom counter. Youâre in a black bodycon dress, hair curled, mid-laugh while fixing your lipstick. Youâre holding glass of rosĂŠ looking relaxed and loose.
âRight,â you say to the lens, giggling. âIâm literally about to head out to meet the girls, but I promised myself Iâd bin this last pregnancy test first. Iâm having a massive cupboard clear-out. Between nursery germs, new allergies and me catching every single bug Tilly brings home, Iâve honestly never gone to the doctors so much in my LIFE. Iâm reclaiming my space.â
You tear the packaging open with your teeth, still laughing as you prepare the test.
âI know itâs negative. Iâm not even going to look at it, iâm just going to do the thing, toss it and not be a mum for the night.â Your tone is still cheerful as you talk to the viewers. âSuppose itâs a good ending though isnât it? The final test, weâre happy with where we are so I can end the video now.â
You lean over, do your thing and casually set it on the edge of the sink. You turn back to the camera, picking up your drink, totally unfazed.
âSo, yeah. Tonight is purely for cocktails and complaining about the nursery mums and I am so ready for it. Iâll update you when Iâm â wait.â
You pause, mid-sip as your eyes caught the test. You freeze, leaning in, squinting as your brow furrowed in complete confusion.
âNo⌠thatâs not right.â
You reach out and pick up the stick, holding it up to the bathroom light. You tilt your head, turning the stick from side to side.
âThatâs⌠thatâs a line,â you whisper, your voice deadpan. âThatâs definitely a line.â
You look at the test, then at the camera, then back at the test. You let out a short, disbelieving laugh.
âWell. Thatâs inconvenient.â You walk to the bathroom door, still holding the test, wine glass in the other hand.
âMorgan?â you call out, your voice perfectly steady. âYou need to come here for a second. I think Iâve just ruined my night out.â
âWhat you mean? Youâve planned it for weeks, Iâve told you me and monkey will beââ Morgan wanders into the frame, stopping mid-sentence when he sees you holding the test. âWhatâs that? You said you were binning it, princess.â
You just hold it out to him, still holding your glass.
âI know. I was. But apparently Iâm not broken.â
Morgan looks at the stick, then at you. His eyes go wide, then he starts to chuckle, shaking his head. He doesn't even go for in for a hug, he just takes the test, looking at it with a mix of shock and amusement.
âYouâre having a laugh, arenât you?â
âI wish I was,â you say, finally setting the drink down on the counter. âI was really looking forward to shots and bad decisions.â
You both just stand there, staring at the little piece of plastic and then you start to giggle again.
âWell,â Morgan says, a slow, dazed smile spreading across his face. âI suppose youâre not going to the pub then.â
You look at him, the humor of the situation finally sinking in. You burst out laughing, a genuine, confused, happy sound.
Morgan steps closer, his gaze drifting from the stick to your face, his usual smirk replaced by a look of dazed, utter disbelief. He gently takes the glass of rosĂŠ from your hand and sets it down next to the test, as if itâs suddenly a dangerous object.
âThink weâre done with this for now too.â He reaches out, tucking a loose curl behind your ear, his touch lingering on your cheek. âYouâre actually serious? Itâs not one of those⌠dented lines or whatever you used to call them?â
âItâs a line, squish,â you say, your voice vibrating with that same disbelieving laughter. âA very dark, very night out ruining line. I barely put it down before it showed upâ
He lets out a short, incredulous huff of air and pulls you into him, his arms wrapping around your waist. He doesnât squeeze too hard, he just holds you there, looking over your shoulder at the sink like he expects the test to have vanished by the time he looks back.
âWe literally just decided to stop,â he mutters into your hair, sounding both winded and amused. âWe were one and done. And now â and now youâre telling me thereâs a tiny little squatter on the way?â
You laugh, a wet, shaky sound as the reality starts to bleed through the shock. You lean your head against his chest, feeling his heart hammering against his ribs, just as fast as yours.
âI know. I was literally about to put on my heels, have a tequila and forget that I have responsibilities.â You look up at him, your eyes crinkling at the corners.
Morganâs expression softens, that familiar, cheeky light returning to his eyes. He leans down, pressing a lingering, soft kiss to your forehead.
âSo,â he says, his voice dropping to a low, amused rasp. âYouâre telling me that after two years of temperature tracking, calendar alerts and enough ovulation tests to build a small house⌠I get you pregnant the second you plan a night out that involves shots?â
âItâs the timing, isn't it?â You burst out laughing, the sound slightly hysterical. âItâs genuinely insulting, Tilly has been extra testing this week I needed a girls night.â
He shakes his head, a wide, disbelieving grin spreading across his face. He doesnât reach for a dramatic embrace instead, he just leans his hip against the vanity, looking at you with that familiar, cheeky glint.
âYou know what this means, donât you? Youâre going to have to go to the pub with the girls, order a coke, and pretend youâre having the time of your life while they get absolutely hammered.â
âDonât.â You groan, dropping your forehead onto his shoulder. âIâll have to listen to Heather talk about her sex life while Iâm sat there sober and fully aware sheâs talking about MIKEY. Itâs a tragic existence, Morgan. Truly tragic.â
He chuckles, his hand finding the small of your back and pulling you flush against him. The intimacy of it makes your heart ache in the best way.
âYou could always just text them,â he suggests, his thumb brushing slow, lazy circles against your dress. âTell them youâve been struck down by a mysterious, tiny, very inconvenient virus.â
You look up at him, your eyes crinkling. The sheer, absurd irony of it all is finally sinking in.
âYou mean tell them Iâm âpregnant and suffering from a sudden intolerance to funâ?â
âExactly that, yeah.â Morgan snorts quietly, leaning down until his forehead knocks gently against yours. âTerminal condition. Symptoms include cancelling girls nights and becoming violently sober.â
You laugh again, soft and helpless now, your fingers twisting in the fabric of his t-shirt as the reality starts settling properly between you.
The house is quiet around you. Tilly had gone to bed an hour ago after demanding three stories, one yoghurt and exactly seven kisses. Her little nightlight glows faintly beneath the crack of her bedroom door down the hall.
âOh my god,â you whisper again, but this time it sounds less shocked and more terrified to believe it.
Morganâs eyes flick between you and the test like he still thinks one of them might disappear if he looks away too long.
âWe literally gave up,â he says quietly, almost laughing again. âLike properly gave up.â
âI know.â
âYou deleted the apps.â
âI know.â
âYou bought wine.â
âI KNOW.â
That finally breaks him. A real laugh escapes him, startled and disbelieving and so painfully happy it makes your throat ache.
Then suddenly heâs covering his face with one hand, shoulders shaking once as he looks down at the stick again.
âYouâre pregnant,â he says, muffled behind his palm.
Your eyes instantly burn the way he says it gets you, like after two years he never actually thought heâd get to say it again.
You step closer without thinking and Morgan immediately reaches for you, both hands settling on your waist like muscle memory.
For a second neither of you speaks he just stares at you, at your face, your dress, your curled hair, the glass of rosĂŠ abandoned beside the sink.
At the woman heâd spent nearly two years trying to convince he loved regardless of what her body could or couldnât do.
âYou know whatâs mental?â he says softly.
âWhat?â
âYouâre standing there looking all pretty ready for a girls night and I genuinely think this is the sexiest youâve ever been.â
âMorgan.â You let out a watery laugh.
âIâm serious.â His thumbs brush slowly against your waist. âYouâve looked heartbroken for so long and now you justâŚâ He shakes his head slightly, eyes glassy. âYou look like you again.â
âWAIT!â You look up at him, smile infectious. âWe have to tell Tilly⌠would we be the worst parents ever if we woke her up?â
Morgan blinks at you for a second, still looking shell-shocked. ââŚProbably,â he says honestly. You burst out laughing again, grabbing at his arms.
âIâm serious! She asked for a baby for like six months straight, sheâs gonna lose her mind.â
âSheâs also three and itâs half eight at night,â he points out, though heâs already smiling now. âSheâll wake up, ask for âa mummy snackâ and then tell us itâs morning time cause sheâs already been to sleep.â
âThatâs still a valid reaction.â
Morgan shakes his head at you, smiling so hard now it looks almost painful. Like his face has forgotten how to hold this much happiness all at once.
âYouâre actually buzzing to wake a sleeping toddlerâ he mutters in disbelief.
âI really thought my body hated me.â Your eyes well up again as you let out a shaky breath.
âDonât say that.â
âBut I did.â Your voice cracks slightly. âFor ages, I did.â
Without hesitation, he pulls you into him again, one arm firm around your waist while the other cups the back of your head.
âYour body gave me Tilly,â he murmurs against your hair. âAnd now apparently itâs gone and done it again just to humble us.â
âYouâre such a knobhead.â A broken laugh escapes you against his chest.
âYeah, but Iâm your knobhead.â
You stay there for a second longer, wrapped around each other in the tiny bathroom before Morgan pulls back just enough to look at you properly again, blue eyes brighter than theyâve been in months.
âGo on then,â he says, a grin creeping back onto his face. âLetâs go wake the tiny dictator.â
Your gasp is immediate. âYou said no!â
âI changed my mind.â He shrugs. âThis is arguably bigger than bedtime.â
You beam at him so brightly it almost knocks the breath out of him.
âOh my god, sheâs gonna be the BEST big sister.â
âSpend the day with us & Tilly!â
Summary: a DITL vlog featuring angry gingeâs baby momma/fiancĂŠ, baby Tilly and boob debates x
I think Iâve cooked here yâknow. Itâs proven time and time again having another joint makes the words flow!! Iâm never judging my creative process again thank you x
The vlog opened to you lying in bed, Morgan already up for the day judging by the empty space beside you.
âGood morning!!â You smiled towards the camera âTilly woke us up like 5 minutes ago so Morgan went to get her breakfastâ
The angle wobbled slightly as you stood up out of bed and walked into the bathroom.
âAnyway I look absolutely rubbish so Iâm going to shower! Next time you see me Iâll hopefully look human againâ
Matilda was sat in her high chair covered in some sort of orange goo theyâd advertised in Tescos as baby food. You were leaning forwards onto the bench, Morgan at the table behind you still feeding Tilly.
âItâs actually quite upsetting you knowâ you mumbled towards the camera, hair still wrapped in a towel atop your head but outfit definitely leaving the house appropriate.
âWhatâs that love?â Morgan called across the room.
âThe fact that sheâs proper eating now, I mean breastfeeding sucked at times but now sheâs only really feeding on a night time or on a morning before breakfast. Is it weird to say I miss it?â
âYou can miss it, think thatâs a normal thing mums feelâ Morgan comforted, making his way to you and wrapping his arms around your chest âI canât wait for it to be overâ
Quickly your head snapped to his direction, confusion shining on your face. He squeezed your boobs in response.
âCanât wait to have my favourite things back to myself, every time I try play with them âMorgan stop it youâre making me leakâ absolute fucking jokeâ
âMorgan!â You swatted his arm as he cackled before the camera cut again.
The camera picked up again in the car, Tilly strapped into her seat behind you happily babbling at absolutely nothing.
âWeâre going to Tescoâ you explained âWhich somehow takes a million years every timeâ
âBecause you treat it like a social eventâ Morgan snorted from the driverâs seat.
âThe one day I go looking like a scruffy bitch is the day followers find usâ
âMaybe donât document our entire life on insta stories then babeâ
âThe people understand meâ
âThey enable youâ he corrected. From the backseat came an enthusiastic squeal.
âSee? She agrees with meâ you said, Morgan glanced up at the mirror.
âShe just likes shoutingâ
âBecause sheâs got your dna Morganâ
Sweet baby giggles were heard before the next frame played, Tilly was kicking her chubby legs from the trolly as Morgan pulled increasingly sillier faces at her.
âIs daddy funny Tilly girlâ you cooed, stroking her cheek with your pointer finger âyes daddy is so silly isnât he?â
The baby isle was your absolute element.
âReader, she doesnât need anymore baby grows. You have a serious problemâ
âBut look Morgan!â You exclaimed holding it out to him âitâs got ducks on!! Sheâd look so cute with a duck sleep suit on!!â
Morgan sighs, runs his hand down his face then adds the outfit to the trolly. Tilly babbled happily as he did, clearly knowing he lost to her cuteness again.
The vlog cut again as you rounded into another aisle, already halfway through convincing yourself you were being reasonable.
âI just donât understandâ you told the camera seriously, holding up a jar of baby food âwhy theyâre all bright orange, poo greenâŚ.this one purple!â
âShe canât even walk I donât think she cares what colour her scran isâ Morgan pushed the trolley behind you, unimpressed.
âItâs a valid point though, whatâs in it?â
âTheyâre literally organic vegetablesâ
You ignored him completely, turning the camera toward Tilly instead. She was chewing enthusiastically on the corner of her toy while kicking her legs.
âTell daddy weâre ready for Taco Bellâ you encouraged, Morgan leaned down toward her.
âTell mummy sheâs an idiotâ Tilly squealed.
âSee?â you said smugly.
âShe was agreeing with meâ he muttered, but he was smiling anyway.
The vlog picked back up as you reached the end of the aisle, still holding the offending purple baby food like you were conducting an investigation.
âIâm just sayingâ you continued, zooming dramatically on the label âno adult voluntarily eats something this colourâ
âYou ate blue raspberry sweets for dinner when you were pregnantâ Morgan didnât even look up.
âThat was differentâ
âHow?â
âI was growing a humanâ
âFair pointâ He nodded. Tilly squealed again, kicking both feet against the trolley tray like she was trying to participate in the debate, you angled the camera toward her.
âShe understands nutritional concernsâ
The next clip opened with Morgan suspiciously lingering near crisps âWe are not here for snacksâ you scolded immediately, he froze mid-reach.
âThese are essentialsâ
âYou said we were being healthyâ
âCalorie deficit babe, donât deprive meâ
You turned the camera on yourself, whispering dramatically âHe says this every weekâ Morgan tossed a multipack into the trolley anyway, Tilly clapped like she approved the decision.
âSee?â he said âBoss approvesâ
The vlog cut back on as the trolley rolled toward the checkout, very obviously fuller than when you arrived. You zoomed dramatically onto it.
âWe came inâ you announced âfor nappiesâ
âExplain literally all of thisâ Morgan immediately pointed at the pile.
âYou added half of itâ
âI added emotional support snacks.â
âYou added six packs of crispsâ you deadpanned back.
âIâm an athleteâ
âYou play clubs sitting downâ You blinked at him.
âHigh intensity thumb work outâ
You turned the camera toward Tilly, âThis is who your father isâ Tilly squealed loudly, smacking the trolley tray causing Morgan to gasp.
âDonât turn her against meâ
âShe already knows who buys all her cute outfitsâ
He held up the duck sleepsuit again like evidence in court, âThis is corruption, you use my moneyâ
âYou folded instantlyâ
âShe looked at me!â he defended, pointing at Tilly. âDirect eye contact, Iâm only human.â
The cashier laughed as Morgan started unloading the shopping. You leaned closer to the camera, whispering conspiratorially, âWatch him panic when the total comes upâ
âI can hear youâ Morgan muttered. The total flashed on screen, Morgan froze âWould be terrible if I got a phone call before I got the chance to payâ
âIf you did that youâd be very single and missing your daughterâ You burst out laughing.
âYeah no I agree, that would be way to far on my part darlinââ
âGood boyâ you moved your hand to tickle under his chin as he leaned away from you.
âAbsolute trampâ Tilly slapped the counter happily, Morgan nodded at her. âExactly, mummyâs a scruff isnât sheâ
âSheâs eight months old.â
âStill smarter than youâ You gasped dramatically as the cashier handed over the receipt. Morgan took it, squinting âI donât even want to look at thisâ He followed behind pushing the trolley, shaking his head but smiling anyway.
âNext vlogâ he said to the camera, âweâre leaving her at home so I can shop responsiblyâ
You spun around walking backwards.
âYouâd come back with energy drinks and vibesâ
âCorrectâ Tilly giggled like she agreed, Morgan pointed at her âSee? Me and her same wavelength.â
âYeah unfortunately sheâs got your DNAâ You slung an arm over his shoulder as you walked out.
âAnd your attitudeâ
âPoor kidâ you both said at the exact same time before breaking into laughter as the clip cut.
The camera angle was slightly shaky as you tried balancing it while loading bags into the boot.
âThisâ you announced, lifting a heavy bag dramatically, âis why online grocery shopping existsâ
âAnd yet you refuse to use itâ Morgan shut the boot beside you.
âBecause I like leaving the houseâ
âYou like being recognisedâ
âItâs a fan serviceâ You gasped.
âYou talked to someone about the pros and cons of breast feeding for 10 minutesâ
âItâs important to be well informed Morganâ Behind you, Tilly babbled loudly from her car seat like she was contributing commentary. Morgan leaned into the back seat.
âYou backing mummy up again?â She squealed in response, he looked at the camera.
âIâm outnumbered in my own familyâ
âYou chose thisâ you said, climbing into the passenger seat.
âUnfortunatelyâ he laughed as he started the engine.
Morgan drove without a care in the world, one hand on the wheel the other squeezing your thigh. The soothing motion of the car and soft hum of the radio sent Matilda off to a light sleep.
The frame wobbled slightly as you had Matilda sleeping against your chest, freehand outstretched with the camera.
âIâm taking a win todayâ you started, voice a hushed whisper â11:30 and sheâs already had a half hours nap!â
Morgan did a silent cheer behind you, walking down the hallway to the kitchen with all 5 bags weighing him down.
âWhy are you a hunchback babes?â You giggle.
âIâm not going back out to that fucking carâ he muttered, far too seriously ânot having my strength beaten by your Tesco addictionâ Tilly stirred in protest, both of you froze instantly.
âDonât make her wake upâ Morgan whispered urgently.
âYouâre the one stomping like Bigfoot!â
âIâm walking delicatelyâ He shot you a betrayed look âYou used to proper fancy meâ
âI still doâ you whispered, grinning. âEven when you look like a stressed Deliveroo driverâ
He scoffed but smiled anyway, pushing past you into the kitchen and dramatically dumping the bags onto the counter with a relieved exhale. You followed, gently rocking Tilly, Morgan leaned over the counter catching his breath like heâd run a marathon.
âIâve aged five yearsâ he moaned, only getting a scoff and an eye roll from you in return.
He started unpacking immediately, moving slower now so the noise didnât wake her. You watched him for a second, camera still angled toward both of you, he caught you staring.
âWhat?â
âYouâre such a dadâ you said softly.
Tilly made a tiny sleepy noise, cheek pressing deeper into your chest. Instinctively Morganâs entire energy softened, he lowered his voice even more.
âSheâs proper out ainât sheâ
âCar naps hit differentâ
He stepped closer, carefully brushing a curl away from her forehead with one finger.
ââŚright, quick question.â
You sighed, âGo onâ
âIf sheâs asleep⌠does that mean we get a cup of tea without interruption?â Your eyes widened slightly.
âLuxuryâ you breathed, he pointed toward the living room like a mission commander.
âOperation Sit Down begins now.â
âThis is the most dangerous game parents playâ You turned the camera back to yourself, whispering dramatically âWe tried keeping to a routine but our Tilly girl is as chaotic as her dad and will do the exact opposite of what you want her to do, so we just flow now. Take the wins when they comeâ
You slipped Tilly gently into her cot just off camera the vlog cutting briefly before picking back up in the kitchen again, both of you moving like contestants on a silent game show. Morgan poured water into mugs with intense concentration, you leaned against the counter watching him.
âYou knowâ you murmured, âpre-baby we used to go out at this time, see our friends, oooh still be in bedâ
âYeahâ he nodded âNow we race kettlesâ
He slid a mug toward you immediately you clinked mugs together quietly like champagne glasses. From the monitor on the counter came soft baby breathing.
âI think weâre winning though right?â You grinned up at him, he nodded and kissed your forehead in reply.
The next clip opened mid-laugh, camera already rolling. Tilly was sat on a soft play mat in the living room surrounded by an excessive amount of toys she absolutely did not need. Plastic rings, stacking cups, a crinkly book, three different stuffed animals and for some reason a wooden spoon. You sat cross-legged opposite her, clapping enthusiastically.
âWelcome backâ you told the camera âThe tiny dictator has awoken from her slumberâ
Tilly squealed like she agreed, immediately attempting to eat the wooden spoon. Morgan appeared behind the camera.
âShe ignored every educational toy and chose kitchen equipmentâ he narrated âMy daughter isnât doing a lot for the feminist movementâ
âSheâs exploring texturesâ you defended.
âSheâs licking woodâ he deadpanned.
You shook a colourful stacking ring in front of her, she stared at you then aggressively launched herself forward onto her stomach instead.
âBrilliant startâ Morgan snorted. You helped her sit again, placing a ring into her hand.
âOkay, show daddy how clever you areâ She immediately threw it across the room, Morgan clapped proudly.
âSheâs got my athletic ability, future striker she isâ
âSheâs eight months old!â
âNatural talent shows early, readerâ
âWeâre gonna be those laid-back parents, arenât we?â You asked him.
âUntil sheâs fourteenâ he replied instantly.
âWhy fourteen?â you giggle âthat is so specificâ
âWe got together at fourteenâ he deadpanned as if that explained everything.
Tilly began excitedly slapping both hands against the mat, babbling loudly like she was giving a motivational speech.
âSheâs been shouting at us all afternoonâ You leaned toward the camera conspiratorially âI think sheâs discovered she has opinionsâ
Morgan dropped onto the floor beside you with a dramatic groan, Tilly grabbed a chubby fistful of his hoodie strings and yanked. You laughed as she pulled him closer, immediately patting his face with zero gentleness in a way only a baby can get away with.
âYes Tilly girl!â you encouraged. âGentle handsâ
She smacked his cheek again, Morgan looked personally betrayed, âThat was violenceâ
âShe loves youâ
âShe assaulted meâ Tilly squealed happily, grabbing his nose next and he melted instantly.
âOh noâ he murmured softly, smiling despite himself âI forgive you princessâ
âSheâs obsessed with him,â you told the camera quietly âWonât even look at me when he walks in a roomâ
âDaddy eraâ Morgan puffed his chest slightly, Tilly immediately leaned sideways toward you, arms reaching. You smirked.
âMummy wins.â
âProbably just wants your tits, cant say i blame herâ he winked before dissolving into a fit of giggles.
âYouâre absolutely disgusting Morgan!â You rolled your eyes at him before lifting Tilly into your lap, bouncing gently.
âRight, learning activity number twoâ
Morgan eyed you suspiciously, âWhat are you planning?â
You grabbed a soft sensory book and opened it dramatically, âWeâre readingâ
âShe cannot readâ
âShe can experience literatureâ You held the book in front of Tilly ââThe cow says moo.ââ Tilly slapped the page enthusiastically, Morgan leaned in.
âThat cowâs getting batteredâ
âSheâs engaging!â Tilly squealed again, then immediately tried to chew the corner of the book.
âAbsorbing knowledgeâ Morgan nodded seriously, You dissolved into laughter.
The camera captured the three of you on the floor toys everywhere, baby giggles filling the room, Morgan lying on his side letting Tilly climb over him like a tiny mountain explorer. She planted both hands on his chest and pushed herself upright, wobbling proudly. Both of you froze.
âOh my godâ you whispered âLook at her!â
âThatâs it baby⌠balanceâŚâ Morgan held his hands hovering just behind her, terrified to breathe.
Tilly stood for approximately one heroic second before dramatically face-planting into his hoodie. You turned the camera toward yourself, grinning.
âThis is what âmaking learning funâ looks like at eight monthsâ Behind you, Morgan lifted Tilly into the air and she shrieked with joy.
âNo pressureâ he told her, âjust vibes and developmental milestonesâ
âAbsolutely zero professionalism in this householdâ You shook your head fondly.
Tilly squealed again, grabbing his face with both hands. Morgan looked at her like sheâd personally invented happiness.
ââŚbest thing we ever made, thatâ
You softened, watching them, âYeahâ you murmured âShe really is.â
And right on cue Tilly let out a loud raspberry directly into his cheek. You burst out laughing as the clip cut.
The camera came back on propped against the fruit bowl, slightly crooked like every vlog camera ever. You stood at the counter chopping vegetables one-handed while gently bouncing Matilda on your hip, her tiny socked feet kicking against your thigh.
âRight,â you sighed dramatically toward the camera âit is currently half five which means itâs tea time in the Burtwistle houseâ
Behind you, Morgan leaned against the fridge scrolling his phone occasionally pulling faces or sticking his tongue out at Tilly. She shrieked in delight, nearly launching herself out of your arms.
âSee?â Morgan grinned âShe rates me more than youâ
âShe sees you less,â you shot back âScarcity builds valueâ
âI LIVE HEREâ He gasped dramatically.
âDebatableâ You shifted Tilly onto your other hip, stirring something in the pan.
âSheâs entered the phaseâ you told the camera seriously, âwhere she wants to be involved in absolutely everything but contributes nothingâ
âJust like her motherâ Morgan nodded solemnly, you didnât even look at him just blindly elbowed backwards into his ribs.
âOw! Domestic violence on camera!â Tilly smacked the counter happily, fully encouraging the chaos. Morgan leaned closer to her. âMummyâs angry again, isnât she?â
âI am not angryâ you said immediately.
âYouâre literally known as Angry Gingeâs baby mumâ
âExactly! Youâre the angry one!â You pointed the wooden spoon at him he just chuckled, scooting away from you as you went to elbow him again.
The doorbell rang, followed by knocking.âGINGE OPEN THE NOOR!!!â Called a voice from outside the house, you and Morgan looked at each other with a sigh.
âAnd thatâ you cooed down to a babbling Tilly still secured on your hip. âIs apparently uncle jakey and auntie Ellieâ
âThey appear like bloodhounds when foods involvedâ Morgan deadpanned to the camera before going to let your guests in.
âHELLO PRETTY GIRL!â Ellie cooed to Matilda, instantly snatching her off your hip and giving her a big squish. âAuntie Ellie has missed you so much Tilly bum!â
âUnreal. Carried you for nine months and this is the loyalty I getâ you âscoldedâ Tilly as she babbled happily in Ellieâs arms. Jakey spotted the camera.
âOh vlogâs on? Right everyone act normalâ
âYouâve never acted normal a day in your lifeâ Morgan snorted.
âYou cried earlier because she sneezed milk on youâ Jakey pointed accusingly.
âShe aimed itâ Morgan defended. âEye contact and everythingâ
âSheâs got your flare for dramatics alreadyâ Ellie bounced Tilly gently.
10 minutes later Tilly at the head of the table as Ellie feeds her mashed sweet potatoâs and carrots. Morgan and Jakey were having some debate about 21 still being young enough to get away with having 67 bedsheets. You firmly agreed with your fiancĂŠ that anyone over the age of 11 shouldnât have 67 anything.
âShe takes bigger bites for meâ Ellie bragged.
âShe just prefers competent adultsâ you agreed, sliding plates onto the table.
âBetrayalâ Morgan folded his arms as Jakey immediately grabbed a plate and started eating. Morgan didnât start eating until you did, Jakey clocked it straight away, of course he did.
âYouâve changed, bro. Fatherhood softened youâ
âI still have auraâ Morgan muttered.
âYou lost all your aura the moment you realised what having an actual newborn does to your sex lifeâ you replied.
âOh god I remember thatâ Ellie nearly choked laughing âmustâve been week three, he was ready to fight bloody everyone!â
âI was tiredâ Morgan slouched back into his chair, pointing his fork at her.
âYou were sexually frustratedâ you corrected calmly, taking a sip of your drink. Jakey slammed his hand on the table.
âYES. THANK YOU. SOMEONE SAID IT.â
âCan we not discuss my personal struggles over tea?â Morgan looked scandalised.
âYou announced them publicly,â you reminded him. âYou thought asking your fucking twitch chat âhow soon is too soon to try hitâ was a good idea!â
âNOT ON LIVE GINGE?â Ellie wheezed.
âI thought theyâd understand!â Morgan defended.
âThey told you I was out of your league and theyâd treat me betterâ you laughed.
Tilly smacked her tray loudly since she wasnât the centre of attention for a few minutes, Jakey leaned toward her.
âYour dad nearly lost his mind, kid. Man went celibate for six business weeksâ
Morgan buried his face in his hands with a groan. Softly you nudged his leg under the table, he tried to stay grumpy for about two seconds before smiling anyway.
Dinner dissolved into overlapping conversations, forks clinking, Tilly squealing every time someone made eye contact with her like sheâd discovered fame. Ellie wiped sweet potato from Tillyâs chin.
âSheâs honestly such a happy babyâ
âHis nana cried the first time she held her, I donât know whether it was the name or the babyâ
âFull tears. Said she looked exactly like meâ Morgan nodded immediately.
âYour mum was worseâ you added âShe walked in, saw Tilly and just went âright thatâs my baby nowâ and stole her for three hoursâ
âThey fought over who got first cuddleâ Morgan grinned âIâve never seen competition like itâ
âAnd from that day on sheâs been satisfied knowing sheâs got everyone wrapped around her fingerâŚ. And she sleeps like her dadâ you said.
âAnd what does that mean?â Morgan scoffed.
âYou donât sleep, you unplug from the world and make rouge dinosaur noises instead of breathingâ
Tilly suddenly launched a spoon onto the floor, everyone froze. Morgan leaned down slowly, picked it up, wiped it, handed it back.
It immediately got launched again.
ââŚsheâs taking the pissâ He stared at her.
âSheâs experimenting with gravityâ you giggled
âSheâs bullying meâ
The next shot was the Jakey mobile driving down the road as the three of you waved it off before the camera cut again.
The lighting was softer now a soft constellation night like reflecting off the pale yellow of Tillyâs nursery. You adjusted your top slightly, settling Matilda against your chest as she rooted impatiently.
âAlright, alrightâ you murmured, smiling tiredly âSomeoneâs very impatient when sheâs tiredâ
Tilly latched almost immediately, little hand pressing against your skin like she needed confirmation you were still there. You looked toward the camera, voice quieter without even meaning to be.
âThis is usually the calmest part of our dayâ you said softly. âEverything else is chaos⌠and then she just switches into cuddle mode at like 8ish every nightâ
âShe ignores me completely during this bitâ came Morganâs voice from off camera. You snorted.
âBecause youâre useless right nowâ He wandered into frame anyway, freshly showered, hair damp, holding two mugs.
âI bring emotional support teaâ he corrected, handing one carefully to you before dropping onto the floor beside the chair.
He leaned his head back against your knee automatically, like it was muscle memory. For a minute neither of you spoke. Just the quiet sounds of Tilly feeding and the faint hum of the baby monitor.
Morgan glanced up, âShe still does the hand thingâ Tillyâs tiny fingers were curled around yours, squeezing every few seconds.
âYeah,â you smiled âOnly when sheâs super sleepyâ
âSheâs getting big thoughâ He watched her with that completely soft expression he never noticed himself doing.
âThatâs the weird partâ you nodded slowly, free hand stroking Matildaâs cheek. âI spoke about this earlier but Iâm going to go on again - sorry!â
There was a slight pause as you smiled at the camera, briefly looking towards Morgan. His attention hadnât drifted, still waiting to hear what was troubling you.
âEveryone tells you breastfeedingâs hard and it is. I donât miss mastitis or the cluster feeding at the beginning⌠oh or the teething stage where she kept bitingâ you let out a soft laugh, trying to refocus on what your point was âanyways she just doesnât need me like that anymore, itâs a bittersweet journeyâ
âYou miss it?â Morgan frowned slightly.
âA bit,â you admitted. âEven when she wouldnât sleep unless she was latched and would scream the house down if I put her downâ
âYou used to threaten to switch to formula everydayâ He laughed quietly.
âI was hormonal and sleep deprived!â
âYou still areâ he teased gently, you kicked his shoulder lightly. He reached up absent-mindedly, tracing slow circles on your ankle grounding, affectionate, completely natural.
âYouâre unreal thoughâ he said after a moment, you blinked in confusion. âAll of it. Pregnancy. Feeding her. Keeping her alive while I panic about milk enhancing snacks and if Iâve filled your water bottle up recently enoughâ
âYouâre a good dad, Morganâ You smiled, slightly embarrassed.
âIâm an excellent assistant,â he corrected âYouâre the main characterâ
Tilly made a tiny satisfied noise, already drifting toward sleep. Both of you instinctively lowered your voices even more.
âShe falls asleep faster with youâ Morgan whispered.
âThatâs because Iâm comfyâ
âI was going to say because she loves you moreâ He glanced up with a grin.
âShe absolutely doesâ You smirked.
âRudeâ he muttered, though he was smiling.
âPostpartumâs strange,â you admitted quietly âEveryone focuses on the baby but youâre also trying to become yourself againâ
Morgan looked up immediately, âShe forgets to mention I basically forced her to napâ
âYou did,â you laughed softly. âHe made sure I ate, took her when I cried over nothing, kept telling me I was doing alrightâ
âWe had a systemâ He shrugged.
âWe didâ you giggled softly âhe said since he couldnât do the night feeds he was doing everything else, so heâd bring her to me take her and burp her change her and put her back to bed after every feedâ
âMummy deserved a rest tooâ Morgan smiled up at you. Tillyâs sleepy sigh pulls focus back to her, her hand relaxed, milk-drunk and sleepy. You shifted her gently onto your shoulder, patting her back, the tiniest burp escaped.
âThatâs my girlâ Morgan gasped dramatically. You laughed under your breath as he stood carefully, already moving toward Matilda.
âRightâ he whispered, hands out. âTransfer specialist reporting for dutyâ
You hesitated before handing her over, watching the way he automatically supported her head, swaying slightly without thinking. He disappeared off camera toward the bedroom you turned back toward the lens, voice warm and tired.
âThis part of motherhood⌠nobody really films it much. But itâs probably my favouriteâ
Morgan reappeared seconds later, âSheâs downâ he whispered giving a thumbs-up to the camera. Both of you froze, listening. Silence, success.
âWeâve done itâ You whispered triumphantly. Morgan leaned down, kissing the top of your head without thinking. The clip cut on both of you sneaking out of the room like criminals.
The camera clicked back on facing the bathroom mirror, slightly foggy from the shower earlier. You leaned in close immediately, whisper-shouting.
âRight! Emergency updateâ
You angled the camera toward the hallway. Through the cracked door, Morgan sat at his streaming desk, headset on, fully locked in talking with his hands, laughing loudly at something chat said. You zoomed dramatically.
âDaddyâs working⌠which means mummy gets to be a glowing, moisturised goddess without someone climbing me like Mount Everestâ You turned the camera back to yourself, already grinning âWatch this though I guarantee the second I start relaxing, Tilly girl wakes up. Babies hate when you feel peaceâ Hair went up into a messy bun, you stared at yourself in the mirror.
âI used to have a full nighttime routine, I used to be in full glam every dayâ You grabbed your cleanser âNow itâs whatever I can do before somebody either cries or asks where his clean joggers areâ You nodded toward the hallway âHe knows where they are by the way. He just likes attentionâ
You started washing your face, voice dropping into that relaxed ramble people only do when theyâre alone.
âAlso⌠can we talk about how unfair it is that he gets to sit in a chair gaming for work while Iâm here fighting for my life against hormonal skin?â You rinsed your face âI love him. Deeply. But if this man says heâs âtired after streamâ tonightâŚâ You raised an eyebrow at the camera ââŚI may commit crimes.â
A muffled laugh echoed from the streaming room, you froze dramatically.
âOh my god imagine he heard meâ you leaned closer to the lens âChat would absolutely back me. They know heâs obsessed with meâ Serum went onto your fingertips. You smoothed it across your cheeks, visibly unwinding âThis is genuinely the best bit of the day though, baby asleep, house quiet, nobody touching meâ
ââŚapart from him in about twenty minutes when he suddenly remembers he has a girlfriendâ You snorted at your own joke âHonestly though, watching him become a dad has been suspiciously attractive. Like sir??? When did you become competent??â You tapped your cheek thoughtfully âMan settles the baby at three in the morning and suddenly Iâm ready to risk it all againâ You pointed at the camera âThatâs how they trap you into more babies. I see the agenda, Iâm not falling for it again!â You grabbed moisturiser next.
âAnd breastfeeding hormones? Nobody prepares you for the emotional damage when feeds start droppingâ You softened slightly, rubbing cream into your skin âI complained about leaking for months⌠now she only feeds morning and night and Iâm likeâ you pressed a hand to your chest dramatically âmy tiny best friend doesnât need me as much anymoreâ You sighed, then immediately shook it off âAnyway before I cry on camera and ruin the vibesâ
You finished rubbing in your moisturiser, wiping the excess cream on a flannel.
âAnd people always ask if sheâll be on streams properly probably not, like shes in the vlogs slightly now because Iâm just mummy but when sheâs older itâll be up to her. Right now sheâs just our little accessory until she figures out her legs workâ
Morganâs laugh echoed faintly from the other room.
âAlso chat would absolutely corrupt her, I donât want my baby girl losing her innocenceâ The baby monitor crackled. You froze, both hands mid-air, eyes wide. Silence. You exhaled slowly âThat right there is the scariest sound known to parentsâ You leaned closer, whispering âI swear they wait until you open eye creamâ You picked it up anyway âRisking itâ
Softly tapping it under your eyes, you glanced toward the hallway again. Morganâs laugh echoed louder now, you smiled without meaning to.
âHeâs actually living his best life in there. Got snacks, chair, friends, admirationâŚâ You paused ââŚmeanwhile I grew his childâ You nodded firmly âUnequal distribution of labourâ Then a grin crept in âBut also⌠Iâd choose this life every timeâ You leaned onto the counter casually, talking like the camera was genuinely your mate âWe used to be out at this hour, you know. Pub, takeaway, chaosâ Small shrug âNow our wild night is tea, baby monitor and arguing about whose turn it is to lock the doorsâ You picked up your lip balm âAnd honestly? I love it more.. is that weird?â
You leaned closer conspiratorially, âDonât tell him I said that. Heâll get smugâ. Footsteps suddenly approached down the hallway. Your eyes widened.
Morganâs voice called faintly, âBabe have you seen-â He appeared in the doorway mid-sentence, hoodie sleeves pushed up.
âThere you are, oh youâre filmingâ
âInterrupting my self-care era again?âYou smirked, he leaned against the doorframe, looking you up and down.
ââŚyou look fitâ
âGo back to workâ You tried to stay serious and immediately failed, laughing.
âJust needed a kiss for moraleâ he said casually.
You rolled your eyes but leaned forward anyway. Quick kiss. He lingered half a second longer than necessary.
âRightâ you pushed his shoulder, smiling, âoff you go streamer boyâ
âTell them Iâm being neglectedâ He pointed at the camera.
âYouâve spoken to over 8,000 people tonight, youâll be fineâ
âAnd yet none of them made me a babyâ
You snorted as he walked away.
âSee?â you told the camera. âCheekâ You picked up the, dim light glowing âAnyway⌠skincare complete, marriage intact, baby still asleepâ You lowered your voice again âThis is peak adulthoodâ
The vlog clicked back on in low lighting, camera balanced on the kitchen counter beside the kettle. Only the small under-cabinet light was on, casting everything in that warm late-night glow.
You padded into frame first wearing cotton pyjama shorts and one of Morganâs T-shirts, hair freshly brushed, skincare complete. Visibly softer, calmer.
âPost-stream debriefâ You whispered dramatically.
Behind you, Morgan shuffled in seconds later, hair fluffy from hands being ran through, hoodie rumpled, looking equal parts exhausted and wired.
âI survivedâ He pointed immediately at the camera.
âYou sat in a chair talking to your matesâ
âMENTALLY exhaustingâ he whispered back, offended.
The kettle clicked on, both of you instinctively looked toward the baby monitor sitting between you. Soft breathing, still asleep. You both exhaled at the same time.
âEvery parent knows that panic every time it makes a noiseâ you murmured, Morgan leaned closer to the monitor like he didnât quite trust it.
âShe moved earlierâ
âShe rolled overâ
âHow do you know?â
âI felt it spirituallyâ
ââŚyouâre unwellâ He blinked at you.
âI grew your childâ You smiled sweetly.
âFairâ
He reached for two mugs automatically, passing yours to you before even making his own. Morgan leaned his hip against the counter youâd decided to sit on, shoulders brushing yours as he leaned to the side.
âSoâ he said, nudging you gently âwhat did you chat about while I was streaming?â
âSkincare, motherhood, how fit you are when youâre being a good dadâ You stirred your tea.
âYou told the internet that?â He choked slightly.
âThey already knowâ you shrugged. He grinned, clearly pleased despite trying not to be. You sipped your tea, eyes half-closing âThis is my favourite part of the dayâ
âSameâ he admitted instantly.
âNo one touching usâ
âNo cryingâ
âNo mashed sweet potato in my hair.â
You both paused, monitor glance, still asleep. Morgan lowered his voice even more.
âSheâs gonna wake up now youâve said thatâ
âDonât manifest itâ You lightly kicked his shin. He caught your ankle without thinking, thumb rubbing absent circles over your skin while he drank his tea.
âYou flirt more now we have a babyâ
âI do notâ
âYou absolutely doâ
âYouâre hot when youâre a mumâ He shrugged.
âThatâs the worst compliment Iâve ever receivedâ You nearly spat your drink laughing.
âNo right listenâ he whispered urgently, leaning closer, âseeing you with her? Feeding her, bossing everyone around, knowing exactly what she needsâ He shook his head like he couldnât explain it. âDoes something to meâ
You stared at him, âyouâre chatting me up in the kitchen at midnightâ he nodded âLike we havenât been together yearsâ
âStill trying to pull youâ He grinned lazily.
âYou already trapped me with a babyâ You leaned closer conspiratorially.
âAnd a ringâ he added smugly.
You rolled your eyes but smiled anyway. Silence settled for a moment, Just kettle ticks cooling down and quiet breathing from the monitor. His arm slid around your waist automatically, pulling you closer. Another shared glance at the monitor, still asleep. Both of you relaxed deeper.
âYou know,â he murmured, voice softer now âwe used to stay up this late doing absolutely nothing productiveâ
âWeâre still doing nothing productiveâ
âYeahâ He nodded without hesitation. A beat passed, then he tilted his head toward you, eyes mischievous ââŚalso sheâs asleepâ
âMorganâ You narrowed your eyes immediately.
âWhat?â
âI know that toneâ
âI didnât say anything!â
âYou implied somethingâ
âIâm just saying⌠uninterrupted adult conversation is rareâ He grinned shamelessly.
âYouâre unbelievableâ You laughed under your breath.
âAnd you love meâ Unfortunately true. You leaned up, pressing a quick kiss to his mouth. It lingered, just slightly. He chased it when you pulled away.
âGo lock the doorsâ you pushed his chest.
âYes maâamâ He saluted dramatically and wandered off.
You turned toward the camera, whispering like you were sharing gossip with a friend.
âThis is how second babies happenâ
âI HEARD THATâ Came from the hallway.
You pointed at him accusingly.
âShe laughs at both of us at the same time and my brain goes we should have anotherâ
âI knew it!â Morganâs eyes lit up.
âAnd then she wakes up at 2amâ you added.
âOne child is idealâ He nodded immediately.
You bit your lip to stop laughing. The monitor crackled softly, both of you froze instantly. Absolute silence, you stared at each other, waited, nothing.
âNearly lost everything thereâ Morgan exhaled dramatically.
âHigh risk environmentâ You nodded seriously.
He returned beside you, stealing one last sip of tea before leaning down to kiss your temple. You smiled up at him, sleepy now.
âRight,â you whispered to the camera âparents are clocking off for the nightâ
âNight chatâ Morgan waved lazily behind you.
âSee you tomorrow⌠assuming we survive the nightâ You reached forward, lowering your voice one last time, Camera off.
The camera flicked on in near darkness, the picture grainy and slightly tilted like youâd grabbed your phone purely out of spite.
Morgan paced beside the bed, Tilly tucked against his shoulder, bouncing gently while whispering with intense determination.
âApparently our day hasnât ended yetâŚâ You mumbled from under the duvet, voice thick with sleep. Morgan checked his phone, the glow lighting up his exhausted face.
ââŚtwo thirty-seven amâ he sighed. âNice one, Tilly girlâ He adjusted her carefully, patting her back.
âWe donât need to wake mummy,â he whispered confidently âDaddyâs just as goodâ
âIâm recording thisâ you snorted from the bed.
âAbsolutely not. Delete that immediatelyâ His head snapped up.
You zoomed in instead. Morgan began doing an overly serious bounce, knees bending like heâd seen on one parenting TikTok and decided he was now an expert on.
âYouâre fine⌠daddyâs comforting you⌠elite service over hereâŚâ Tilly rooted against his chest, he froze. ââŚwhy are you searching?â he whispered accusingly, she fussed louder. âI donât have milk,â he informed her gently âI have sleepy vibesâ
âBabeâŚâ The crying escalated, you laughed into the pillow.
âIâve got it,â he insisted quickly, pacing faster âShe just needs settlingâ Tilly let out a full offended cry, Morgan looked genuinely betrayed âI am providing emotional stability!â
âShe wants comfortâ
âShe wants boobs!â he corrected. âWhich is unfair because I do too!â
âShe is eight months oldâ You wheezed.
âAnd I have been patientâ he whispered dramatically âThose used to be recreationalâ Tilly cried harder, he looked down at her, exasperated. âYou canât just wake up at half two demanding exclusive access like a tiny nightclub bouncerâ
âGive her hereâ You sat up, reaching your arms out.
âNo,â he said stubbornly âShe needs to learn daddy works tooâ
Tilly immediately wailed louder, Morgan stopped pacing. Silence.
ââŚthis feels targetedâ He stared at her, you held your hands out again.
âPass the baby, Romeoâ
âThe system is riggedâ He surrendered her with deep reluctance. The second she latched, the room fell completely quiet, Morgan stared offended âRight. Okay. Coolâ
âMagic boobsâ You grinned sleepily.
âI spent fifteen minutes doing cardioâ He collapsed onto the bed beside you, rubbing his face.
âYou walked three circlesâ
âThat was an advanced soothing techniqueâ Tilly made a tiny satisfied noise, milk-drunk already, Morgan watched her hand relax against your chest ââŚshe didnât even pretend to consider my offerâ
You tilted the camera toward him.
âShe knows quality serviceâ
âThey used to be our boobsâ He squinted at you.
âThey were never communal property!â You burst out laughing.
âI love them and appreciate them more than you ever have!â He argued.
You laughed so hard the camera shook. Morgan slid closer, arm wrapping around your waist, head resting against your shoulder anyway.
ââŚfine,â he murmured âIâll allow it. For herâ A beat, then quietly âBut when sheâs weaned, Iâm filing for full custodyâ
âGet some sleep, you weirdoâ You kissed the top of his head.
He leaned toward the camera one last time, whispering seriously, âParenting update: I have been replaced by dairyâ The screen faded as both of you tried not to laugh and wake her.
The vlog switched back on to harsh morning light and a slightly too-close selfie angle. You squinted at the camera, hair messy, still half wrapped in a blanket.
ââŚsoooo,â you said slowly âwe forgot to end the vlogâ
Behind you Morgan groaned from somewhere off screen.
âWe got distractedâ you added innocently, A small pause ââŚby my boobs.â
Morgan immediately popped into frame, hair sticking up, clearly not fully awake.
âNot hard though, have you seen them?â he nodded seriously toward the camera, one of his big hands instantly squeezing a boob âPhwoarâ
âMORGAN!â you shoved his face away, laughing.
âYou brought it up!â He only grinned wider, completely unashamed.
âI meant because your daughter woke up seventeen times!â you defended.
âYeah,â he said thoughtfully âfor the boobsâ You covered your face, laughing into your hands.
âAnywayâ you tried again, regaining composure, âhope you enjoyed spending a day with usâ
âPeak entertainment. Crying, Tesco, dairy debatesâ Morgan leaned over your shoulder, waving lazily.
âSorry this is the only video this week,â you continued âIâll be honest⌠I couldnât be bothered to plan oneâ
âAuthenticityâ Morgan nodded âRaw contentâ
âParenthood humbles youâ you added solemnly.
From somewhere off camera came Tillyâs happy babble. Both of you instantly turned your heads, Morgan pointed.
âBoss is awakeâ
âAnyway, bye!â You smiled back at the camera. âSay bye, Morgan!â You nudged him hard.
âBye chat. Like, subscribe, respect breastfeeding mothersâ He leaned right into the lens, far too close. The screen cut abruptly as you laughed and shoved the camera away.
Introducing Matilda
Summary: First introductions Morganâs family and friends have to his baby girl.
Lowkey started writing fics for my Tilly arc so locking in on these fics is bringing me so much joy! This is a long one grab a drink and a snack x
Two days later you were released. Morgan fussed over you, helping you into stretchy leggings one of his hoodies and of course a post-partum nappy. First matching fit with your girl, both sporting extra padding and being frustrated with it.
Matilda wore a much cuter outfit. A soft oatmeal baby grow with little bows scattered around it, a little white hat protecting her head from the nippy wind waiting for you outside.
She looked lost in her car seat, like youâd been entrusted with something sacred. Her hands balled into little fists held to her pouty lips.
Every time you looked at her you welled up, her mere presence alone solving every issue in your life.
âLetâs get my girls home thenâ Morgan clapped his hands together, instantly regretting it as the loud noise caused Tilly to stir.
âItâs okay princess, daddy is loud. Youâll have to get used to him Iâm afraidâ you cooed, fingers tracing the slope of her nose.
You thought Morgan was fit before he got you pregnant? Watching him carrying that car seat like it was effortless was a whole different level.
How soon is too soon for baby number 2?
After he insured Tilly was secured in the back, he helped you into the back seat before settling into his own.
The Merc had never moved so slowly in its life. Morgan was almost hesitant to drive, scared any sudden movement would damage his precious cargo. Morgan from last week would hate dad driver Morgan.
You were mesmerised in the back seat, barely noticing the streets passing outside. Matildaâs tiny hand curled around your finger, impossibly strong for something so new. Little squeaks escaped her as she held on, as if making sure you were still there.
Cold air nipped at your skin as you left the car, you wrapped your arms around yourself - not before double checking Tilly was snug underneath her blanket.
Stepping through the threshold nothing had changed in the two days youâd been gone. But everything had changed, you left this house as a woman and youâve returned a mummy.
Morganâs collection of football boots still overtook the shoe rack, Tv remote still haphazardly on the sofa - even your forgotten mug of tea abandoned on the table. A snapshot of your old life.
Hesitantly Morgan placed the car seat on the floor in front of the sofa, making sure youâd sat comfortably before handing her over to you.
âStill doesnât feel real does itâ Your nose nuzzled into her soft curls, breathing in her scent.
âNot at all, can you believe weâve been trusted with a whole life?â He chuckled, lowering himself beside you.
âTheyâre proper idiotsâ You both chuckled softly, soaking up the love in the room.
You shifted slightly against the cushions, instantly wincing as your body reminded you that forty-eight hours ago youâd pushed a whole ass human into the world.
Morgan clocked it immediately.
âOi,â he murmured, already halfway to standing. âWhat do you need?â
âNothing,â you lied automatically.
He raised an eyebrow. âYou just fought a small war, babe. Youâre not moving from that spotâ
Before you could argue he disappeared into the kitchen, returning moments later juggling a your Stanley cup, your favourite snacks, your phone charger, and the fluffiest blanket in the house.
You laughed weakly as he started tucking the blanket around your legs.
âComfy?â
Matilda stirred between you, tiny mouth stretching open in a silent yawn that made both of you freeze. Her eyelashes fluttered against her cheeks. One hand escaped the blanket, fingers flexing slowly until they brushed your hoodie.
Morganâs hand found yours automatically, squeezing tight. Blue eyes wide in awe.
âSheâs ours,â he whispered, almost like he still couldnât believe it.
Emotion rose so suddenly it stole the breath from your lungs. Your eyes burned before you even realised you were crying, not loud sobs, just quiet tears slipping down your cheeks.
Morgan panicked instantly.
âHey, hey, whatâs wrong? Are you hurting? Do we need to call someone?â
âI just⌠I love you both so much it actually hurts.â You laughed through it, shaking your head.
His expression softened in a way youâd never seen before. Softer than boyfriend, softer than life partner. Father.
He leaned in, pressing a kiss to your forehead, lingering there.
âYou did that,â he murmured. âYou made her.â
Your throat tightened.
âWe made her⌠look at her face, sheâs definitely all youâ
Matilda let out a small protesting squeak, face scrunching as reality interrupted the moment. Forget ever having a sweet moment with your boyfriend again.
âOi, whatâs up with you little oneâ Morgan cooed to your newborn, one of his fingers petting her squishy cheeks.
âI think sheâs hungryâ
You shifted her weight against you, putting her in the correct position to feed from you.
Morgan watched in amazement, the whole world shrinking around the three of you. Just this transcendent moment, her weight against your chest and soft suckles coming from her mouth.
Outside street lights began coming on as night approached, telly a low hum in the background.
Once sheâd had her fill, been burped and changed exhaustion started seeping in. Morgan insisted you stayed put as he triple checked heâd locked the door, prepared the nappy bag to take to bed and gotten you a fresh bottle of water for overnight.
Making your way up to your room was relatively stress free. Both of you anxious about dropping her on the was up the stairs but no crisis occurred.
âIt doesnât seem fair that sheâs got to sleep all alone in that basket when sheâs been nicely tucked between us for nine monthsâ Morgan claimed as you moved her heartbeat Teddy from the Moses basket, a placeholder that you didnât need anymore.
âFeels proper mean doesnât itâ Your default lip pout made an appearance. A default Morgan couldnât help but see in his daughter as well.
Eventually, reluctantly, hesitantly you placed her in her bed, tucking her in loosely.
The pair of you just sat at the edge of your bed, peering in at her. Making sure she was still breathing. Making sure she was definitely real. Falling in love in ways you didnât know existed.
âWe probably look like right weirdosâ Your boyfriend mumbled, however his stance didnât falter.
âYeah probablyâ you agreed
After a few Morganâs arm wrapped around your shoulders, pulling you tightly into him. Your eyes felt heavy as you let the comfort and familiarity wash over you.
Eventually the heaviness behind your eyes became too much and the two of you got into bed, properly. Matilda sleeping peacefully in her basket beside you.
House filled with love, safety and warmth.
Quickly a new normal settled into your home. Youâd wake through the night, an argument Morgan was forced to back down from, letting Morgan rest. It wasnât like he could do anything, Tilly couldnât latch onto him for her milk.
Morgan did the mornings, letting you feed her and soak up the morning snuggles. Heâd change her, play with her - well as much as you could play with a newborn anyways.
Michelle and Julie had pre-warned him about how wild hormones were after birth. The horrors of post-partum mental decline, self neglect. He didnât want you to feel any of that, he was doing everything in his power to ease the burden.
He helped you keep up with your skin care and hair routine - being a mum didnât mean you werenât a person anymore.
Tilly was his biggest blessing, yours too. He didnât want her to change the core of person he fell in love with.
Michelle had met Matilda in the hospital, bringing Julie along with her. It was emotional, charged atmosphere as they saw the angry streamer panic about his precious bundle in their arms - as if he wasnât standing there because the two of them had raised him.
Michelle popped round everyday with dinner for the two of you, another weight lifted off your shoulders, as you settled into a routine and your body recovered.
Julie cried when she learned of Matildaâs name. Matilda Julie Burtwistle, middle name of the queen herself. The highest honour granted to her by her only grandson.
Today you were planning on your first trip out - nothing major. Family dinner at Nana Julieâs house, with her decreasing mobility you wanted to make the effort to show up for her with her namesake.
Plus you really wanted to do your makeup again, even just to sit in Nanaâs living room. Miss Tilly really stole all your beauty as she made her appearance.
âDo you think Iâll be able to squeeze into my jeans?â You called over to Morgan, he was sat patting Tillyâs back - her head cradled on his shoulder.
He looked ethereal. Bare chested, hand the same size as your daughterâs back, hair a perfect mess atop his head, eyes hazy with sleep but full of contentment.
He looked like a dad.
âWhy are you looking at me like that?â He chuckled, tongue running over his bottom lip as he gave you a once over.
âFuck offâŚâ your own laugh melded together with his. âYouâre a proper dilf itâs distractingâ
All you got in reply was a shake of his head.
As quickly as possible with a baby and various wonderful post birth fluids that seeped from you, the three of you were ready to go.
Matilda was in the sweetest little Winnie the Pooh baby grow, little yellow ears on her hat really tying together the look. Morgan was in one of his seemingly infinite united tops and a random pair of joggers. Blessedly you managed to fit into a pair of jeans, the largest pair of jeans you owned, and a woollen jumper.
You actually looked like a proper little family.
A bag bigger than Morganâs weekend away bag was stashed in the car for your few hours out. Matilda bundled in a fluffy pink blanket was secured in the car, Morgan triple checking heâd definitely done it up right.
It was a quick drive to Nana Julieâs house. She was already standing at the threshold as you pulled up the curb, anticipating your impending arrival.
Her hand came to her mouth the moment Morgan rounded the car with Tillyâs car seat in his grasp. No words escaped her, not yet. She just took in the three of you.
âHi Nanaâ your arms loosely wrapped around her frame.
âLook at you!â Voice thick with emotion. âAll my babies back under my roof!â
Morgan scoffed, wrapping his free arm around his nan.
âDonât start crying Julie!â He scolded. âYouâll set off the bairnâ
He was shifting on his feet, not used to something so serious. So emotional. So real. He didnât know where to place himself, he bloody grew up in this house heâd should be long past the feeling awkward stage.
âSheâs just eaten before we left the house nanâ He spoke quietly. âWhy donât you let us in and you can give her a cuddle?â
Seemingly snapping back to reality she quickly ushered you inside, closing the door against the chilly breeze.
The three of you sat scattered around the lounge, Morgan gently lifted Matilda. Briefly holding her against his chest before handing her over to her namesake.
âI know I saw her in that hospital roomâ Julie started, eyes glassy. âBut this feels so different, too clinical. She belongs here, in the house her mummy and daddy grew up inâ
A powerful emotion clawed at your chest, a deep sense of home settling within you. For the first time since leaving the hospital, you didnât feel like someone pretending to be a mum. Sitting in this room, surrounded by the people who raised him, who welcomed you long before this baby existed, you finally felt like you belonged to the same story she did.
âOh Matilda Julieâ Tears escaped her eyes as she looked down at the baby girl in her arms.
Then she looked up to Morgan, the cheeky little boy she helped raise. The same boy that argued with her for weeks when they decided at age 14 the two of you were definitely not sharing a bed at sleepovers anymore.
âI canât believe youâve actually done it Morgan. Youâre a dadâ You could feel the pride radiating from her.
Morgan reached out a hand, a thumb stroking his Nanaâs shoulder.
âI still donât believe it either Nana, sheâs perfect isnât she?â
âIâve imagined what sheâd look like since you told me you were pregnantâ she admitted. âBut sheâs so much better than any thing I couldâve thought upâ
Her hand soothed over the creases in Tillyâs face. Morganâs eyes found yours across the room - missing puzzle pieces slotting together.
The spell was broken by the door creaking open, Michelle and Tasha shouting hello down the corridor.
âSaw the car outsideâ Tasha said as she walked into the room. âHow are yous doing, and little Tilly?â
You smiled up at her, moving slightly on the couch so she had a space to sit down.
âWere good, she has her dads attitude - so weâre proper luckyâ
You both chucked as Morgan made a noise of protest.
âShe makes that same soundâ you exclaimed pointing at him.
Michelle made her presence known, simmering the argument before it had a chance to take shape.
âRight mum, shall we go to the kitchen and get dinner finished? Let the kids have a catch up?â
Reluctantly Julie handed Matilda over to Morgan before the two of them started pottering around in the kitchen. Distant sounds of plates clashing and pots bubbling away floated to the lounge.
The homely scent of dinner being prepared got a low rumble from your stomach as the three of you chatted aimlessly on the sofa. Tilly secure in her Auntie Tashaâs arms.
âKids, dinnerâ called through the hall.
âSuddenly Iâm 12 again and about to get shouted at for refusing to eat my brussell sproutsâ You whispered between the three of you as you all stood.
âThink sheâll smack his head with the wooden spoon for stealing food off your plate again?â Tasha giggled.
âYou two shut up rightâ Morgan mumbled as he shifted the baby against his chest. âYouâre laughing now but it was clearly elite flirting - stole her scran now Iâm the father of her child. I stay winningâ
It was the same table as all those years ago, everyone automatically slotting into their predetermined spots. You and Morgan on one side, Tasha and Michelle across from you and Julie at the head of the table - queen at her throne.
Except this time a small rocking chair was slotted on the floor between Morgan and your seats. A symbol of change in your normality.
No time was wasted before a plate, piled big enough for at least three, was placed in front of you. Another plate, piled even higher, placed in front of Morgan.
âYou need proper foodâ Julie stressed. âNeed all the energy you can get when youâre looking after a babyâ
Morgan instantly shoved a roast potato in his mouth, gravy already slipping out the corners of his mouth.
âReaderâ Tasha started, face contorted in disgust at her brother. âHow did you let that thing get you pregnantâ
You shrugged, soft laugh escaping.
âFelt sorry for the bloke didnât I?â
Finally lifting his neck from the hunched position over his place he turned to you. Mouth full of roast, indignant noise escaping through the chewed up dinner.
âWhy am I catching strays here?â
âMorgan! Donât talk with your mouth fullâ Michelle reached across the table and swatted his bicep.
âRight hold on, why is everyone attacking me today? Is it because Iâm the only bloke? What a fucking joke!â
As if sensing her dadâs protest Matilda grumbled from the chair between you. Instinctively Morgan was reaching for her, smoothing the curls that framed her face.
âOh are you mad at daddy too, eh?â He cooed down to her. âLittle miss need attention does she?â
Matilda settled almost instantly against his chest, tiny fists curling into the fabric of his shirt, suckling against nothing - the sound soothing both her and the adults around her.
âThere we go, princessâ Morgan murmured, rocking slightly in his chair without even realising he was doing it. âDrama queen, Take after mummy, donât you?â
âAbsolutely not,â you shot back. âSheâs inherited your need to be the centre of attention.â
Julie watched the two of them quietly from the head of the table, fork paused mid-air.
âI used to do that with you,â she said softly.
Morgan glanced up. âWhat?â
âThat little bounce,â she nodded toward his absentminded rocking. âYou wouldnât sleep unless someone walked you round the kitchen at three in the morning, Drove your grandad madâ
Tasha burst out laughing. âSo nothingâs changed thenâ
Morgan rolled his eyes but you saw it, that brief flicker of emotion he never quite knew what to do with. Overwhelming, all consuming.
A small, satisfied smile graced her lips as she pointed her fork Morganâs plate - âEat your sprouts!â
âIâm 24 now Nanaâ he complained. âIâve created new life and youâre still forcing me into eating bloody sprouts. Have a day offâ
âI donât think you did much work creating herâ Julie scoffed. âYou ate them as a kid, youâll eat them now. Set a good example for Matilda!â
He groaned, adjusting his grip on the baby so she was secured with one hand. Free hand stabbing a sprout with his fork before dramatically popping it into his mouth.
âHappyâ He spat out around the mushed up food in his mouth, Tasha cackled at his disgusted expression.
âStill not like them, son?â Michelle laughed.
âI think you all enjoy my suffering way too muchâ
Conversations continued flowing. When everyone was seemingly distracted you reached across and stole a roast potato from Morganâs plate, wasting no time in popping it in your mouth.
âOI!â
You gave him a cheeky grin. The other adults laughing at the easy banter between you.
âThatâs right love!â Julie chuckled approvingly. âYou keep him in lineâ
Morgan leaned closer to you, voice low enough only you (and by default Matilda) could hear.
âYou realise, when I decided to start flirting with you it was by stealing food off your plate - youâre not slickâ
Your heart did that stupid, traitorous little flip it always did around him.
âWellâŚâ you mumbled back. âWorked out alright in the end didnât it?â
He smiled at you, not the over performative streamer smile, not the flirty boyfriend smirk.
Happy in a way that seeped into his bones and oozed out his pores.
Conversation carried on around the table, laughter folding into the clink of cutlery and Julieâs familiar scolding echoing through the kitchen.
Matilda slept soundly against Morganâs chest, completely unaware sheâd already become the centre of an entire world.
Home had never felt so full.
The boys lasted a week before they ambushed you at home. Desperate to meet the smallest bov member.
Excessive chatter ceased immediately as they huddled at the threshold of the living room.
You hadnât made an effort - there was a half drank cuppa on the table, hair thrown up in a bun, hoodie definitely stained in some sort of newborn excrement.
Morgan didnât look much better, stubble littered his face, he was wearing a beanie to disguise his untameable hair and he too sported stains down his top curtesy of Tilly.
As you sat cradling your baby girl to your chest you couldnât help but laugh at them. The usually over performative males turned mute at the sight of an infant, surely this moment needed document.
Morganâs deep laugh broke the spell as they eventually tumbled in, finding a space to slot into around you.
âSheâs so smallâ Chazza whispered, leaning closer to her. âCanât believe one of us actually has one of these nowâ
âSheâs a bloody baby not a 1 of 1, chazâ Beano scoffed. âHas one of these, think all women are objects even the wee onesâ
Chazza shoved Beanoâs arm playfully. Nervous energy exuding them all, youâd never seen them so shy before. Hands in pockets, eyes darting around the room like they didnât quite know where to look.
Matilda made a small noise against your chest, wriggling slightly in your grip. All the men in the room snapped their attention to you. You couldnât help but burst out laughing.
âJesus Christ, sheâs a baby not a bomb!â
âI dunno readerâ Mikey said, full seriousness. âGinges hairs made of fire maybe she got something from himâ
âRight, fuck off youâ, Morgan shook his head, leaning back in his chair. He let the silence stretch a minute before nodding his head in your direction. âWho wants a hold?â
Voices overlapped instantly.
âAh no Iâm fineâ, âIâll drop herâ, âI havenât trained yetâ, âshe looks comfy where she isâ
âYou lads play 6 a side every week, and your kryptonite is a 10 day old baby?â
Tillyâs chubby fist escaped her blanket almost as if to agree with her dad, her uncles were idiots.
Chazza visibly melted beside you. âOh I think sheâs reaching for me you knowâ
âMust be a tragic judge of characterâ Mikey got out before a full body laugh took over him.
You rolled your eyes, used to the boys behaviour by now, gently adjusting Matilda into Chazzaâs arms.
âJust cradle her as if she were Sid, protect her head. Perfectâ
Tilly settled against his chest, impossibly small against him. The room was quiet again, soft this time.
Chazza stared at her in awe. Still in disbelief his best mate was a dad, he was holding his freshly born baby in his arms.
âNah I want a go, can I have a go readerâ
âWait your turn, sheâs bonding with her uncle Charlie now Jakeâ Chazza replied, cautiously twisting so his back faced Jake.
Morgan moved to hand over your daughter, he trusted his friends with his life - but they werenât passing around his baby. Hold her stationary? Yeah no problem. They werenât moving her or with her.
âYou ready Jakey?â Morgan hesitated, his nose nuzzling into Matildaâs soft copper curls.
Jakey nodded in reply, eyes wide - face full of fear.
âRight sheâs really delicate okay? You can relax your arms Jakey, sheâll not settle if youâre like a statue. Yeah cradle her head - Iâm going to let go now, you definitely got her?â
Jakey nodded rapidly, swallowing hard. âYeah, yeah Iâve got her.â
Morgan didnât move. Still hovering. Still checking.
âYou sure?â
âYes Gingeâ Jakey laughed nervously. âIâm not gonna break your kidâ
Only then did Morgan slowly release his grip, hands lingering a second longer than necessary before stepping back.
Jakey froze the moment Matilda settled against him. Completely still. Like breathing wrong might shatter her. The other boys watched in silence.
Tilly blinked slowly, stretching one tiny hand against his hoodie before letting out a soft, content sigh.
âOh⌠oh sheâs warm,â he whispered, sounding genuinely shocked. âSheâs like⌠proper real.â
âCourse sheâs real you melon,â Beano snorted, though his voice had softened without him noticing.
Jakey didnât look up from the bundle in his arms.
âSheâs tiny, man,â he said quietly. âHow do you trust yourself with something this small?â
âHonestly?â Morgan leaned aback, one arm coming to wrap around your shoulders. âYou donât, everything is terrifying. Like one small move and Iâve ruined the rest of her life. Just have to crack on I suppose - she needs usâ
You softened against him, placing a quick kiss on his collar bone.
Mikey cleared his throat, getting ready to break the serious atmosphere.
âWell, luckily she didnât get your nose mateâ
Laughter escaped you all, normality seeping back into the house. Conversations started overlapping, voices raised, someone getting gently bullied.
Phones appeared, everyone getting a proud uncle pic to post once you made a public announcement. Jealous girlfriends replying in the group chat that they werenât currently having newborn cuddles.
Obviously Tilly needed more attention as she let out a tiny squeak against Beanoâs shoulder.
âWhat wrong with her?â He froze, for someone with as many siblings as him he was the last person you expected to be unsure around your daughter.
âProbably wants her mums boobies, canât say I blame herâ You swatted Morganâs arm the second his sentence was uttered.
âWhat? Canât appreciate my girlfriend anymore?â
Morgan stepped forward again, instinct taking over as he gathered her back into his arms. The transition was seamless now, confident hands, gentle sway already starting as he rested her against his shoulder as you adjusted your clothing.
âRight pass her overâ you reached out for her.
Morganâs hands hovered over her back as you shifted her until she was comfortably latched on. Soft suckling filling the once again silent room.
Five grown men suddenly discovering intense interest in absolutely anything except where your baby currently was.
Beano picked up the TV remote, the TV wasnât even on.
ââŚSo this is a nice remoteâ he announced to nobody just trying to find something to fill the silence.
Mikey stared aggressively at the living room door, like it was the most interesting thing in the universe.
âThat always been there?â He asked suddenly, actually pointing to the door.
âOur door? Yeah mate our door has always been thereâ Morgan laughed.
Jakey had turned 90 degrees, back ramrod straight facing you.
âIâm being respectful!â He defended before anyone had a chance to ask.
âVery respectful atmosphere happening right nowâ Chazza nodded, facing straight ahead of him.
Morgan took in his 4 closest mates for a second, completely unimpressed.
âYou know sheâs feeding a babyâ he began dryly. âNot staring in a pornoâ
âThatâs your Mrs mate!â Mikey exclaimed. âWe donât know where to look!â
âMaybe her face?â
The four of them immediately turned and made direct eye contact with the wall above your head.
Too intense. Uncomfortably intense.
You and Morgan burst out laughing, Tilly whining in protest. Clearly not a fan of milkshake, noted.
âOh my god⌠theyâre just boobsâ you shot out.
âTold you lot years ago they were classâ Morgan smirked beside you, eyes zoning in on your chest.
âKing!â Beano exclaimed. âThose comments really donât helpâ
âCan you let me know when itâs safe to lookâ Jakey returned to having his back facing you.
Tilly made a soft, contented hum against your skin. Despite themselves all the boys eyes snapped to her. Silence.
âMentalâ Chazza whispered. âShe just, knows what to doâ
The humour softened the moment again, embarrassment slowly ebbing away the longer Tilly fed.
Morganâs thumb absently stroked your shoulder, eyes flitting between you and Tilly - unable to make up their mind on who to focus on.
âSee? Nothing to feel weird about, theyâre both soundâ
The boys all smiled softly warmth settling in the room.
âSheâs definitely the boss of us now isnât she?â Mikey shook his head as he spoke.
âWithout a doubt, broâ Chazza agreed easily.
Tilly finished feeding with a sleepy sigh, milk-drunk and heavy against your chest. Morgan reached automatically, lifting her carefully and settling her high on his shoulder.
She burped loudly.
The boys erupted into cheers like sheâd scored a last-minute winner.
You laughed so hard your stomach hurt.
âUnreal,â Beano grinned. âProper queen behaviour already.â
Morgan shook his head, smiling helplessly as he looked down at his daughter, then back at his friends.
âGod help her,â he muttered fondly. âLook at the state of her uncles.â
Chazza puffed his chest out proudly. âElite male role models, actually.â
Matilda made a tiny sleepy noise, fingers curling into Morganâs shirt.
And just like that, the lads settled around her again closer this time, easier, no hesitation left.
âReckon she knows weâre all obsessed with her already?â Jakey leaned closer, whispering like she might understand him.
âShe can smell fear,â you replied. âThatâs why she likes you.â
âSound,â he nodded seriously.
Chazza crouched beside Morgan, peering at her face. âSheâs changed since ten minutes ago.â
âShe has not,â Beano laughed.
âNah she has look, her cheeks are bigger.â
âThatâs milk mate. Thatâs just milk.â
Morgan rolled his eyes but didnât move away, letting them orbit closer. Tillyâs fist escaped again, reaching and gripping Morganâs finger tightly.
âOiâ he cooed, rocking her slightly in his arms - completely instinctively and unintentional. âThatâs mine princessâ
The boys softened, seeing a whole new side to their angry mate. Completely whipped by a tiny doll.
Eventually the boys made move to go, albeit reluctantly. Quickly snapping more photos just incase, gentle strokes across her chubby cheeks, extra hugs for Morgan and you.
Tilly slept through all the chaos, thankfully as sheâd be around it abit too much as she grew.
Morgan was relaxed against the sofa, headset around his neck, controller in hand as Matilda slept soundly on his chest - the soft pink blanket youâd picked out for her cot all those months ago covering her small frame.
The FaceTime dialling tone filled the silence as he waited for Jynxzi to answer.
Faintly he could hear the flowing water and the soft rhythm of your playlist coming down from the shower, your first uninterrupted moment of the day Morgan sent you to pamper yourself.
The connection tone sounded, a shadowy silhouette of his American friend squinting back at him.
âBroâ he grumbled âitâs 7am, this better be important I was streaming till 3â
âHey, bro youâre the one who answeredâ he grinned through the screen
âBecause you called meâ he gritted out, then leaned closer to the screen squinting against the light. âWhat are you holding?â
âOhâ Morgan gasped. âForgot to tell you, had babyâ
Silence. Full stretching unedited silence.
âYou had a WHAT?â Jynxzi moved now sat bolt upright in his bed, face pure unfiltered shock.
âYeahâ he chuckled. âLittle miss Matildaâ
He gently started rocking her, force of habit more than anything else.
â12 days old nowâ
âTWELVE -â his voice cracked. âTWELVE DAYS AGO?!â
Tilly stirred at the sudden volume, nose scrunching up adorably. Immediately both men froze. Jynxzi lowering his voice to an aggressive whisper as to not displease her further.
âIs that her?â
Nodding he adjusted the blanket, aiming the camera to capture her squished cheeks. Tiny copper curls framing her face, hand balled into a fist beneath her chin.
âOh my godâ he whispered. âYou just⌠spawned a human and didnât tell me?â
âBeen busy mateâ Morgan laughed.
âYeah, with a babyâ Jynxzi let the silence sit for a beat, âYouâre rocking herâ
âAm notâ Morgan frowned.
âYou absolutely are.â
Morgan looked down realised he was and shrugged.
âWorks thoughâ
The American leaned closer to the screen like proximity would somehow help.
âSheâs tiny, broâ
âYeah,â Morgan said quietly, voice softening without effort. âShe isâ
âLet me talk to her.â
âYou cannot talk to a twelve-day-old baby.â
âHey Matilda. Iâm the one whoâs gonna teach you bad words over the internetâ Jynxzi ignored him completely, softening his voice instantly. Morgan laughed under his breath.
Tilly stretched, mouth opening in a dramatic newborn yawn. The reaction on the other side of the screen was catastrophic.
âOH MY GOD SHE YAWNEDâ
âShe does that a lotâ
âI would die for herâ
âBit dramaticâ
âNo, listenâ he said seriously. âI just woke up and now your kid exists. This is insaneâ
Morgan didnât answer he just looked down at her, thumb brushing across her back.
Jynxzi watched quietly as Tilly settled deeper into Morganâs chest, completely safe, completely unaware sheâd just gained another person who adored her.
âYou look different,â he said finally.
Morgan frowned. âRough?â
âNo,â he shook his head. âHappy.â
Morgan huffed a laugh, embarrassed by the accuracy.
He heard the shower power off upstairs, and the soft padding of your feet returning to the bedroom to dress.
âHer mumâs gonna come down in a sec,â he said. âYouâll have to pretend youâre normal.â
âNormal?â Jynxzi exclaimed. âYou woke me up - after only 4 hours of sleep to tell me you hid a whole baby from meâ
Morgan snorted, shifting slightly so Tilly stayed settled against him.
âYeah well,â he muttered, âfigured you needed more excitement in your lifeâ
âYou had a baby, man,â Jynxzi shook his head, still processing. âThatâs not a casual update. Thatâs a life event.â
Tilly made a sleepy little noise, lips puckering as she rooted instinctively against Morganâs hoodie. Instantly his hand came up, thumb brushing along her cheek.
âAlright princessâ he murmured softly. âI got youâ
Jynxzi went completely still watching it âYou didnât even realise you did that,â he said quietly.
âDid what?â
âThat voice,â he laughed softly. âYou got a dad voice now.â
Morgan rolled his eyes but didnât deny it. Footsteps sounded on the stairs. Your voice floated down before you appeared. âIs she still asleep?â
You rounded the corner drying your hair with a towel, stopping immediately when you noticed the phone propped against Morganâs knee.
âOhâŚhi?â
Jynxziâs face lit up like heâd was in the presence of royalty.
âHI. HI. I JUST FOUND OUT YOU GUYS MADE A HUMAN.â
âHeâs taking it wellâ Morgan groaned.
You laughed, moving closer and leaning over the back of the sofa to peek at the screen.
âSorry,â you smiled warmly. âWeâve been a bit⌠distracted.â
âYou think?â Jynxzi said. âI wake up and my friendâs a father.â
Your eyes dropped to Morgan and Tilly together, her tucked perfectly into him, tiny hand gripping his shirt. Your expression softened instantly.
âSheâs got him wrapped around her finger already,â you said.
âLies,â Morgan muttered.
Tilly chose that exact moment to stretch dramatically, making a small squeaky sound.
Jynxzi clutched his chest. âI canât handle this. Sheâs too small.â
Morgan carefully lifted her hand toward the camera.
âSay hi to Uncle Jynx.â
âUNCLE JYNX,â he repeated immediately, visibly emotional now. âYeah. Iâll take that.â
The room fell into an easy quiet. Just a sleepy baby, two exhausted parents, and a friend thousands of miles away smiling at a tiny person he already cared about.
âNext time I see you,â Jynxzi said softly, âIâm holding her.â
Morgan nodded without hesitation.
âYeah,â he replied. âYou will.â
Two weeks in youâd found a steady rhythm in parenting. Youâd yet to have a trip out that wasnât to families house for fear of a viewer seeing you so today you were announcing baby Tilly to the world.
You didnât want it to feel like content. She wasnât content, she was your world. But the viewers and constant livestreams played a big factor in your decision making.
The two of you spent over an hour picking the perfect collection of photos for instagram. All of Morganâs being ones of her sleeping against his chest or you gazing down lovingly as she was latched to you mid feed.
Eventually you settled on 6 pictures that you felt encapsulated the past two weeks.
Picture one was Matilda, face just out of shot as she lay in the hospital bassinet, her fist curled around your finger. Welcome to the world printed on the front of her baby grow, with clouds and starts scattered in the background.
Picture two was Morgan holding her for the first time, eyes red rimmed, hair a tangled mess. Pure unfiltered joy on his face as he cradled her close to him.
Picture three showed Tilly latched you your chest, the soft pink blanket sheâd become so fond of covering your dignity. Your cheek pressed into her soft curls as you were relaxed against the sofa cushions.
Picture four was a family picture sat in the hospital bed. Matilda wrapped in the retched green hospital blanket, Morganâs arm wrapped around your shoulders - free hand cupping Tillyâs back. Neither of you faced the camera, both of your heads tilted down to your daughter.
Picture 5 was Tilly in an oatmeal brown woollen jumper that drowned her frame, Matilda written across it in pastel pink cursive. Youâd bought it in size 12-18 months, so you could watch her grow into it. At just two weeks she was already filling it out much more than the first time.
The final picture was a candid Morgan took of you, sleeping curled around Tilly in the bed. His own arm could be seen under your neck, thumb stroking your spine. Tilly pouting softly as she slept between the two of you.
The caption was simple. Trying to be nonchalant. Very Morgan.
âNew player spawned in, Meet Tillyâ
Morgan didnât turn the camera on straight away, letting his regular opening show on the stream no music today, Tilly was sleeping soundly in your arms just out of frame when the camera eventually clicked on.
âHello everybodyâ using his proper voice, not his performative one. âHow we all doing?â
He waited a few seconds for chats to start rolling in, smiling softly at the little noises that escaped Tilly as she slept.
âSo this time chat it wasnât the postman who deliveredâŚâ he bowed down in âdefeatâ âI know I know, slackingâ
The sound of both of your laughter filled the room as he read through a few of the messages coming through.
âBut you know me, managed to pull some strings and got theâŚâ he pulled a face âpostwoman?â
âNah that donât sound right thatâ Your laughter stopped his sentence again, his eyes catching yours as he made a wanking gesture in your direction.
âAnyway, very special guest for todayâs streamâŚâ You walked into frame, Tilly tucked under your neck. âreader and baby Matilda!!â He cheered.
You waved towards the camera, saying hello to the viewers. The chat was spammed instantly.
milf !
OMG BABY GINGE
SHES HERE
Family stream !?!
Morgan leaned back in his chair, visibly overwhelmed at the outpour of support and trying not to show it.
âAlright, best behaviour all of yousâ he joked, thanking everyone sending gifted in.
Tilly gave a tiny sleepy squeak against your chest, her face scrunching slightly before settling again.
Hearts filled the chat. Morgan saw it and clicked his tongue.
âDonât encourage them,â he muttered, more to you than anyone else. You gave him a look.
âShe didnât do anything.â
âShe knows what she didâ he replied conspicuously.
That got you laughing again as you shifted her slightly, still half in frame. Morgan leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees.
âRight,â he said, switching back into streamer voice for a second. âFor anyone confused, no we didnât just randomly acquire a child - sheâs a month old now. Just been enjoying family life without the internet as she got used to existingâ
A MONTH ?
the instagram was 2 weeks ago !
WHAT
âYep, crazy innit?â Morgan laughed, shaking his head.
âBasically he hates you chatâ you joked from beside him, softly swaying Tilly.
âThatâs not - what? No!â He was laughing as he spoke. âSorry, never had a baby come out my girlfriend before - needed a slight adjustment period. Please forgive meâ
Tilly made a noise of disapproval from your chest, not used to her dad talking so animatedly. Her little mouth puckering and fingers flexing on your collar bone like she was deciding whether it was worth disturbing her slumber.
Morgan shifted instantly, hands moving to take her from you if you needed.
âYou got her?â Voice soft as he spoke to you, a sharp contrast to how the viewers had ever heard him talk. You nodded towards him, shifting so she settled more comfortably against you.
Chat clocked the change in Morganâs posture.
dad mode activated
Bro forgot he was on stream
Did you see that??
âI didnât âforget the stream was onââ he said flatly, blue eyes squinting at the camera. âIâm just not letting my daughter fall or my mrs get tired armsâ
That made you laugh again. Tilly chose that exact moment to let out a bigger, slightly offended noise like she didnât like not being the centre of your attention.
The stream went silent for half a beat. Morgan froze. You froze.
Morgan immediately leaned into her space.
protect her at all costs
timing us out like her dad â¤ď¸
whatâs wrong with her !!!
âItâs alright princessâ He cooed. âDaddyâs sorry, didnât forget about you Iâm still hereâ Morgan briefly glanced at the chat, chuckling under his breathe.
princess confirmed
getting timed out by angryginges kid
poor baby !!
ââCourse sheâs a princess chat. I donât know if I mentioned but i won the jungle - Iâm the kingâ he paused, trying to hold in his laughter as you giggled beside him. âTherefore reader is the queen, obviously our kid is a princessâ
You shook your head beside him, smiling down at Tilly as she settled again, completely unbothered by the thousands of people currently losing their minds over her existence.
Chat moved too fast to read properly now.
PRINCESS TILLY
generational stream
KING GINGE ERA
Morgan leaned closer to the monitor, pretending to scan messages seriously.
âRightâ he said. âAny disrespect toward the royal family results in immediate banishmentâ
âBanishment?â you laughed.
âYeahâ he nodded firmly. âStraight to the naughty stepâ
Tilly made a soft snuffling noise, her tiny hand stretching toward his voice. Morganâs entire face changed he reached out instinctively, letting her fingers curl around his thumb.
Chat exploded again. Neither of you paid it any attention.
âStrong grip that,â he murmured proudly, like sheâd just achieved something extraordinary.
âSheâs literally grabbing your finger,â you said.
âExactlyâ he replied. âGoing to be a pro athlete like her dadâ
You rolled your eyes, laughing quietly.
A sound bite went off loudly through the speakers, Morgan visibly flinched.
âOh shit, sorry, sorryâ he muttered quickly, reaching to lower the volume. âDidnât think about alertsâ
Tilly twitched at the noise but stayed asleep. Both of you froze again. The entire stream held its breath. Morgan stared at her like he was personally negotiating with fate.
ââŚweâre good,â he whispered.
âRight,â he said quietly. âWeâre turning alerts down today, this is a calm household nowâ
You shifted closer, resting your elbow on the arm of his chair keeping Tilly supported while you watched chat together.
It felt strangely normal, like this had always been part of your life. Morgan glanced sideways at you and then back to the camera.
âIâll be honest chat,â he said, tone softer now. âFelt proper odd having a month off and full access to my set up, youâve kinda been here for everything elseâ
Messages slowed slightly, the mood changing.
love you Ginge
congrats man
W W W W
He swallowed, clearly not expecting the sincerity.
âYeah⌠cheersâ he said, rubbing the back of his neck.
Tilly made another tiny sound, her face scrunching before relaxing again. Morgan looked down instantly. Every time. You noticed it. Chat noticed it.
He didnât.
âMad though,â he added quietly. âUsed to worry about stream numbers and how many views Bov had - Now I just worry if sheâs breathing too quietly.â
A collective awww rolled through chat.
You nudged his shoulder gently.
âThey didnât tune in for emotional vulnerability.â
âToughâ he shrugged. âIâm dad Ginge nowâ
He reached over stroking her soft curls with his thumb with ridiculous care, still seeing her as the fragile 7lb 3oz infant placed on your chest, not the almost 5 week old milk hungry tank sheâd become.
âAnyway,â he cleared his throat, trying to recover some normality. âWe are still gaming today. Sheâs supervising.â
Right on cue, Tilly let out a tiny squeaky noise. âSee? Approvedâ Morgan grinned.
âSo what we thinking chat - clubs? GTA? Fortnite? Iâm up for anythingâ A beat of silence. âRight, you lot vote in that poll and weâll see what weâre doingâ
As he waited for the poll results his attention drifted back down to Tilly, finger tracing her scrunched up nose instinctively.
Unapologetically soft. Unmistakably gone.
Morgan makes sure his Mrs has pre-booked nail appointments because he loves the marks left on his back after she falls apart underneath him.
The boys find out by accident, he stripped his top off to go into the hot tub one day - forgetting about the deep, angry scratches covering him.
âYou been attacked king?â
âEh what you on about?â
âLooks like youâve been mauled by a wild animalâ
âJust admit you canât pleasure your Mrs and fuck off yeah?â Smug smile stuck on his face as the boys laughed at him, making jokes at his expense.
When he told her about it she just added fresher ones to the collection đ

Summary: 5 times Morgan had to discipline Tilly (and eventually Teddy)
When you first found out you were pregnant you didnât expect the first time Morgan had to disciple your daughter was while she was still in utero.
But currently itâs 2.47am, your back is aching, feet swollen and to top it off little miss hasnât stopped doing acrobatics in your tummy all day. All you wanted was a few hours sleep but the unrelenting tap dancing on your bladder was making it impossible. Your incessant wriggling around the bed trying to get comfy was keeping your baby daddy up too.
Turning to face you with a sigh âwhatâs wrong love? You got another craving for hashbrowns and maple syrup? Gimme a minute to switch on and Iâll go to the shopsâ.
âNo itâs the bloody babyâ you groaned out. âShe wonât stay still, I canât get comfy - sheâs treating my spleen worse than Tevez treat your ankle in soccer aidâ.
With your outburst Morgan leant down to your belly, one of his large hands rubbing your protruding bump like he knew exactly where she was.
âHey little lady, leave your mum alone yeah? Sheâs doing my fuckinâ âead in. Got work in the morning kidâ he whispered to your baby.
Hormones going wild the scene had you bubbling over with tears, your hand finding his interlacing your fingers over Matildaâs temporary home.
Matilda mustâve gotten as much comfort from a cuddle from her dad as you did because her movements slowed to a stop - finally giving you some reprieve as a kiss was left on your stomach.
People warned you of the newborn trenches. Clearly you didnât pay close enough attention because the sleepless nights were seemingly endless.
Youâd decided on breast feeding so every cry had you up out of bed to feed, change and soothe your baby girl.
Your baby girl who was perfect in every way. And also would only cluster feed so you had a big over supply that you had to pump between feeds or become incredibly uncomfortable.
Morgan woke with you every time for the first few days before you managed to talk him out of it - it made no sense for you both to suffer. Matilda deserved one functioning parent.
So when you woke at 6am on Friday morning, Morganâs spot beside you in the bed cold, you instantly panicked. The last time the baby had woken you was 4.30, youâd not had a solid, uninterrupted 90 minutes of sleep in the 12 weeks youâd been a mother.
Soft voices from the kitchen had you realising the panic was pointless. Morgan was standing with Tilly cradled to his bare chest, bottle in hand trying to convince her plastic was just as good as the real thing.
âCome on Tils, Mummy needs sleep princess. You canât be keeping her up all night eyâ he was telling her off so softly.
Your heart was a puddle in your ribcage. Youâd tell him off later for giving her a bottle but for now the sight of him being a dad, a good dad, was too precious to spoil.
âThatâs right princess, take the bottle for daddy. Youâll feel better. You need some sleep too, causing so much trouble keeping everyone up all night arenât ye?â He cooed to her as she finally accepted the bottle he was offering.
Watching the tiny human you made with the man you loved unconditionally grow was absolutely incredible.
The best thing youâd ever get to experience. Also the hardest.
She was at the stage of getting into EVERYTHING! Nothing was safe.
âMatilda Julie Burtwistle get Spikes bone out of your mouthâ You sighed walking across the living room and getting the squeaky toy from her.
Morgan and Ryan were cackling behind you, youâd gone full mum mode - voice in full effect.
You turned to them with a glare âDonât encourage her! Heâll be trying to eat his food next honestlyâ
âYe a proper Ma now readerâ Ryan laughed. âKinda scary to be honestâ
Tilly gave you no time to reply as she started wailing, flung herself backwards to the floor and banged her arms and legs down.
You looked at Morgan, Full defeat showing on your face, before bending down to attempt to console your daughter.
âTilly darl, why donât we play with your toys ey? You canât eat spikes toys honeyâ
Naturally, she continued screaming.
She wanted the squeaky bone.
She was going to scream until you caved.
You spent 10 minutes on the floor trying to barter with the toddler. She was definitely her fatherâs daughter. She needed to have things her way and between them youâd be grey before your 30th birthday.
Morgan made his way over so you could tap out. He picked Tilly up and squeezed her to his chest to help regulate her emotions, it worked for you so it was worth a shot to ease the quickly forming headaches the adults had.
âMatilda youâre being very silly princessâ
Her cries quieted to soft whimpers now, big blue eyes glossy and bottom lip trembling as she peered up at her dad.
âYouâre giving yourself a poorly head. Shall we go have a look in your toy box and stop being silly?â he asked, speaking softly as to not set her off again.
He received a soft nod in reply, her fist not loosening its hold in his hoodie.
At 34 weeks pregnant with baby number two your bump was massive. Everything hurt, you canât remember what your feet looked like and youâve been banned from picking up your two year old for the past week.
Matilda was acting out increasingly since you started showing. At first she was excited at the prospect of a new baby but the reality was the opposite as your body started changing and the newborn items found their places around your home again.
You were resting on the sofa with Winnie the Pooh on the telly, Matilda half watching while she was playing with her dolls on the floor.
Until Morgan came home with a bouncer seat for your baby boy. When Tilly saw it she tried to climb in it herself, Morgan removed her before explaining it was for baby brother and she canât touch it.
Big mistake.
Bowl of strawberries were thrown over the room then her pooh bear Teddy thrown at the tv.
Morgan grabbed her arm gently before she found her next stuffed victim.
âMatilda!â Dad voice activated. Tilly being the biggest daddies girl ever teared up at his tone. âYou donât need to cry Tilly. But you canât throw things, you could hit someone or hurt them - and weâve got to be extra careful around mummy while baby is in there remember?â
She cried harder at that. Her tears spurred yours on, hormones running wild. You bent down and picked your daughter up despite Morganâs protest.
âMatilda whatâs wrong lovely? Why all these tears eh?â You cooed to her, running your hand through her unruly curls.
âHate babyâ she cried out into your shoulder. âI wan mummyâ
That sentence broke yours and Morganâs heart. âOh Tilly, baby isnât going to take mummy away I promiseâ you reassured her. Morganâs hand found her back rubbing it soothingly. âMummy and daddy are still going to play with you and love you so so so much. Our hearts are going to get bigger for baby brother. Weâll still love you just as muchâ.
âThereâs enough love for everyone babe, thereâll always be enough room for both our babies yeah Tilly?â Morgan spoke gently still rubbing soothing patterns into her spine.
That settled her a little bit as she pulled her head out from your shoulder. âPwomise?â She whispered, sniffling.
âPromise princessâ you left a kiss on her forehead, soaking up all the love.
Two toddlers was a challenge. Matilda egged Theodore on in a striking resemblance to Morgan with the bov boys. Same cheeky giggle when she succeeded as well.
Waking up to silence was dangerous, made even more dangerous when your boyfriend was still tangled in the sheets with you and you couldnât see the kids in their rooms on the cameras.
âMorgan wake up. The kids are doing something they shouldnât I just know itâ
âYou right in the head? Teddy would be jumping on me if he was awake, go back to sleep loveâ Morgan shrugged off your worries tucking his body back under the duvet.
Sitting up you shoved your phone on his face, showing him the live footage of the kids room.
âNo look - theyâre not in thereâ you panicked. That got him sat up.
You both made your way downstairs hearing hushed chatter coming from the living room.
âOh my fucking godâ you exclaimed as you walked in, hand flying up to cover your mouth.
Bright felt tip covered your walls, carpets and sofa. Children also coloured in, sheepish expressions on their faces as theyâre caught red-handed.
âWhat are yous doing?â You asked. Voice sharp hands on your hips, Morgan behind you in the same stance.
âDrawing mummyâ Teddy spoke in his soft voice, gap-tooth smile on display.
âMatilda you know better than that! Youâre big girl 5 now. What do we draw on?â Morgan asked your daughter. Tears springing to her eyes now her dad is mad at her.
âWe draw on paper daddyâ she whispered out.
âThatâs right so why have you redecorated our living room?â
âWe couldnât find paperâ she cried out.
âNo need for the tears princess. Next time you come get mummy or daddy okay?â
She nodded making her way to her father for a cuddle. She was just as much of a cling on to him as you were.
âAnd you mrâ you picked Teddy up as you spoke to him. âStairs are dangerous - you wake mummy or daddy up. You donât come down by yourselfâ
âI big boy mummyâ he looked far too proud of himself.
You sighed making eye contact with Morgan. The battle was futile. Youâd have to get the baby gate back out of storage to save your furniture and bank accounts.
Morgan rocked Tilly on his hip looking around the carnage. He canât believe just 5 years ago he was screaming over fifa packs and now he was soothing a toddler, his toddler, after she vandalised your home.
hiya babe, ginges and his mrs cuddling blurb?
Morgan always pretends heâs not soft. Itâs a whole part of his brand and persona that heâs a âtough manâ. But the second the two of you are alone? The man I GONE.
Arms outstretched instantly until youâre entire body is on him like a personalised weighted blanket. One hand instinctively on your bum - not sexual just comforting. The other making artwork on the canvas of your back.
Soft hums as you nuzzle into his chest and his face is buried in your hair, letting the whole days frustrations melt away.
If you attempt to leave him before heâs finished recharging he will be like a whiny baby - âwhere you going darlinâ?â - full pout as he tightens his arms around you trying to keep you anchored to him.
âWeâve been sat for an hour Morgan, I need to do the house work and feed spike⌠and us for that matterâ rolling your eyes fondly at the man child.
âThat can wait - need you now. Not finished yetâ His arms donât release you, tighten even more as if by sheer force youâd be able to become a singular person.
Fill the house with unicorns
Summary: Tilly is kidnapped by uncle Tays and uncle Beano so you can get some much needed rest
Being pregnant was so much easier the first time round - no toddler running laps around you demanding the energy her little brother was stealing from you as he baked away.
Treating yourself to a five minute sit down accidentally turned into a cuppa and gossip sesh with Ryan and Mikey. You LOVED being Tillyâs mummy but pregnancy was hard.
The boys semi understood - both having younger siblings and remembering their mums being burned out.
âHow about this reader - weâre going Trafford for new nerf guns well take Tilly with us, have a nap or a bath or somethingâ Tays suggested, reaching over to the coffee table for the last digestive.
âI canât ask you to do that - Tilly is a handful at the minute. Sheâs driving me and Morgan up the walls I wonât even ask Michelle to watch her lately incase we lose our best babysitterâ
âYa forget we live with the wee tike reader, Morganâs off in London have yourself a day off tooâ Ryan didnât even wait for you to reply before he wiped the crumbs from his jacket and stood. âOi Tilly - come get your shoes on uncle Beano and uncle Tays are taking you on an adventureâ
You sighed, accepting your fate. Letting the boys kidnap your daughter as you rested back against the cushions.
The three were blasting Disney music singing along at the top of their lungs as Mikey drove to the shopping centre. Matilda kicking her feet unable to contain her joy. She loved her uncles - they never said no to her like her mum and dad did.
Parking up Ryan unbuckled Tilly from her car seat before taking her little hand in his and racing Mikey to the toy shop.
âUNICORN UKLE BEAN!!â She squealed as they walked into the shop. A giant rainbow unicorn plushie was on display at the entrance. It was probably the height of two Matildaâs.
Mikey and Ryan looked at each other, to the toy and back to each other before shrugging and picking it up.
âIf ya ma asks it was uncle Tays who bought you it okay Tilly?â
Tilly nodded with far too much serious for a two year old, already betraying Mikey by shouting, âUKLE TAYS GOT UNICORN!â
âNo way, absolute slander here mateâ Mikey huffed out with a laugh, Ryan had to put a hand on his stomach with the force of his laughter.
Tilly paid them no mind, the tiny boss pulling on Ryanâs hand to guide him further into the shop. She was a woman on a mission - no parents to say no she was getting all her heart desired.
Forty-five minutes and a drastically lowered bank balance later the boys had a boot full and a very happy, overly hyper toddler on their hands.
âIce cream ukle taysâ Big blue eyes were staring back at him, arm outstretched to unmissable McDonaldâs sign to the side of them. Bottom lip pouting out in his direction as she waited for his response
âAw anything for the princess, want to go McDonaldâs eh? Get some nuggets too?â
Getting a squeal in response Mikey quickly went in the drive through ordering for the three of them. They ate in the car to try control the mess but two year olds will be two year olds and she was wearing more McFlurry than she managed to eat by the time they were finished.
âYou made a big mess princess!!â Mikey laughed with her, gently rubbing her face and hands with a baby wipe - quickly learning attempting to remove the ice cream from her hair was doomed to fail.
Charlie, Jakey and Morgan were hanging around in the lounge when they made it back to the house.
Tilly spotted her dad immediately, running up to him as he squatted down arms outstretched for her to fall into.
âYou have a good day babe? Whereâd you go with your uncles huh?â Morgan asked brushing her wild curls away from her face and pecking her forehead.
âDADDY I got unicorn!!â She turned to Ryan and Mikey expectantly. The four men laughed at her as she struggled to hold the toy due to its size.
âWow - thatâs nice of them. Did you say thank you?⌠or ask them where itâs going to liveâ He was glaring at the boys over Matildaâs head - she already had an unnecessary amount of toys, her bedroom was being over taken. Plus with another baby on the way he already knew the plushie would be the bane of his life once you saw it.
âI say fanks daddyâ She rolled her eyes, leaving Morgan to go through the bag of toys sheâd picked out on their adventures.
âBoys I have a very heavily pregnant girlfriend and you think itâs a good idea to fill up the house more? Do you not value your lives?â Morgan angrily whispered towards them as Charlie and Jakey cackled at the situation beside him.
âIn all fairness tho, she did that face. You canât say no to her either gingeâ
âAye what were we meant to do? Break her wee heart? Iâm not a bastard, kingâ
Morgan sighed in resignation. The four boys already making themselves busy modelling the new princess tiaras Matilda just needed.
And honestly? The pure unfiltered joy on her little face - fill the whole house with unicorns to keep it there.
Upstairs you were dead to the world. The best sleep youâd had your entire third trimester. Unaware of the masculine princesses being coronated in your living room or fluffy new tenants that wonât be helping towards the rent.
Bov house vs Bluey
Summary: Ginge is caught watching Bluey with Matilda - one by one the whole house becomes invested too.
CW: Embarrassing accuracy for the Bluey segments - I am still watching Bluey now. I have no excuses for it.
Ryan had roped you into a q&a segment on his stream - he claimed it was for international womanâs week, you knew it was just to annoy your boyfriend.
You joined him after putting Matilda down for her afternoon nap. Figuring you had about half an hour to be yourself and not mummy.
Chat loved yours and Ryanâs chaotic energy together - semi-convinced you were one of Ryanâs many siblings and had just got shipped away at birth since youâd bonded so quickly.
âRyan youâre not getting me to down a buzzball again, Tillyâs going to be up soon I canât be tipsy around herâ you laughed out at him, pushing away the buzzball he was trying to get into your hands.
âAw come on reader, itâs womenâs week! Iâve got pads, tampons, buzzballs and choccies for all the girlfriends - donât let women downâ
You sighed, grabbed the drink he was offering you before downing it. Managing not to spill any down your jumper.
âRight uncle Beano, since you want to get her mummy lit you can come do play time with usâ you informed him, tugging him along the hallway to âMorganâsâ bedroom.
Matilda however, was not in the bed. Sheets rumpled, her Winnie the Pooh teddy gone along with her baby blanket.
âWhat the fuck? I didnât hear her get up, did you Beano?â You asked, turning to face him and his camera man.
âThe house is suspiciously quiet anorl - Tays and Chaz are at Tesco. Do ya know where Ginge and Jakey are?â
You bit your lip in thought as the familiar tune of Bluey flowed up through the house. Making eye contact with Ryan you both let out a relieved laugh before heading in the direction of the living room.
What the pair of you saw from the door way had you stopped in your tracks.
Morgan was sat on the plush rug, elbows on his crossed knees head in his hands fully transfixed on the heeler families antics. As always Matilda was sat in the exact same position - carbon copy of her father. Her comfort blanket around her as a cape, thumb stuck in her mouth, Pooh bear watching from her lap.
âThis the same bloke that screamed on stream about wanting some chips? Heâs so gone chat. This is ridiculousâ Ryan whispered to the camera. Eyes wide in disbelief at his normally boisterous mate humming along to animated Australian puppies in agreement.
You nodded in reply to Ryanâs question, not that it even required a response, still focused on your little family. Your heart felt too big in your ribcage.
âYou see how sad Bingo is Tilly? Thatâs why itâs so important to ask before we take other peopleâs things! We donât want to make our friends sad like dad made bingo sad do we?â Your boyfriend asked your daughter, picking her up and tucking her into his arms.
Tilly nodded up at her dad - taking the conversation far too serious for what it was.
âNo dance mode for bingo?â Tears brimmed in her eyes as she looked up at Morgan. Hands clutching her Pooh bear.
âLetâs keep watching and see eh babe? Iâm sure bingo will get her turn Tilsâ One of his hands found her belly gently tickling her to distract her from the oncoming heartbreak when Bingos final dance mood is denied from her.
Jakey had made his way down to where you, Ryan and Cal were gathered observing the two gingers in the lounge.
âWhatâs going on here then? The living room out of bounds?â He asked you before taking in the scene on the rug before letting out an unnecessarily loud laugh. âIs he singing the theme song?â
Turning around to face the group Morganâs face fell at the smug smiles, or fond in your case, looking back at him.
âErm sorry why am I being stalked?⌠Are you streaming me bond with my daughter?â
âJust ainât realised how invested you were in the family dynamics of animated dogs ginge mateâ Ryan laughed as you all finally made your way into the room.
â⌠how long exactly have you been watching us?â
âLong enough - never beating the allegations now mateâ Ryan was doubled over in laughter on the sofa.
Youâd sat down on the rug with your little family - Jakey also opting for the floor as cal stood of to the side getting you all in the frame for Beanoâs stream.
âDaddy! Uckl bean shhh!!!â Tilly exclaimed before Morgan had the chance to reply to him hisself. âGrannies on bus!!â She was pointing at the tv now, bringing everyoneâs attention to the show.
Morgan caved instantly, pecking Tillyâs head, one arm keeping her snug to his chest the other finding your thigh.
When Charlie and Mikey returned home 15 minutes later none of you had moved - all now fully invested in the show.
The pair of them absolutely baffled when the 5 adults in the room shouted out âmumâ in perfect timing with the telly - before naturally finding their own spot amidst the chaos and watching along.
Morgan laughed under his breath, shaking his head as Tilly clapped proudly at all of you. His hand found yours without looking, fingers lacing together like second nature.
You glanced around the room â grown men sat around watching childrenâs cartoons on a Friday afternoon to make your baby happy. Your daughter safe in her dadâs arms, gentle laughter replacing the usual chaos.
can you do a drabble of morgan and his mrs waking up in the bov house together
You and Morgan had a late night - leading you to stay at the Bov house instead of your own home. Something youâd have to get used to once everything had been moved over and youâd officially moved in with them all.
It was late morning - almost midday when the sound of Charlie chasing Ryan around the house woke you up. Their hyena laughs reverberating through the bedroom door.
Clearly it disturbed Morgan too and he turned over burying his head into your shoulder. âFuck sake. Surely itâs far too early for them to be this hyper?â
His words were muffled by your shoulder but you shared the sentiment, bringing a hand up to run through the ginger mop on the top of his head.
âBest get used to it babe - weâre stuck with them now. Your idea for a content house remember?â
He let out another groan into your skin, arms pulling you impossibly closer to him.
As if sensing your sheer annoyance the door to your bedroom was swung open. Loudly banging against the wall making you jump and pull the duvet up to your chin. Morgan looked up - arms still securely around your midsection as Chaz and Ryan stood in the doorframe with cheeky grins on their faces - vod guy making sure he got the four of you in frame.
âGoooooood moooooorning shaggersâ Ryan sang out with a chuckle. âAnything you want to say to the stream this morning reader?â
The three (four if you include the camera) were met with sleepy glares from Morgan and yourself - causing another round of laughter from the chaos goblins themselves.
âGet the fuck out of our room. You didnât even knock, we couldâve been naked or something and youâre full on streaming us? Are you alright in the headâ
âIn all fairness mate - we didnât think about thatâ Charlie attempted to defend himself. âAnd we forget youâve got a girlfriend - with you looking like a massive virgin and everythingâ
âAnd you just look massive mate - fuck offâ You swatted Morganâs arm for his comment about Chazzaâs weight. Chaz himself pulling a can you believe this guy? Expression to the viewers.
âClearly weâre not wanted here Chaz - letâs go see what Jakeyâs up to. Heâll treat us betterâ Ryan said pulling Charlie in the direction of Jakeyâs bedroom taking vod guy with him.
âCLOSE THE FUCKING DOOR DICKHEADS!â

NSFW alphabet
Summary: NSFW alphabet for my favourite man đ
CW: creampie, fingering, oral sex (m&f), unprotected sex, hickies, spanking, choking, edging, somno
*MDNI*
a: aftercare (what are they like after sex?)
Heâs a big cuddler. So soft with you, gentle kisses on your face and in your hairline. Will get you anything you want - from ordering food, running a bath or just playing with your hair. Always cleans you up afterwards, never lets you do it yourself.
b: body part (their favourite body part on each other)
Him; Your tits. Heâs always got his eyes on them if youâre wearing a low cut top. When relaxing his hands automatically cup your breasts through your top. Had a bad day? His head will be on your chest hand squeezing your free boob.
You; his arms - especially now heâs getting into the gym more and his biceps are growing you canât help but bite them whenever his arms are out. Or his hands, his long fingers always fill you up so good and the veins on the back of them get your knickers wet.
c: cum (anything to do with cum)
Loves finishing inside, itâs his favourite place. Heâll watch it come out of you and push it back in - loves the thought of getting you pregnant. If heâs not finishing inside heâll be finishing on your tits - scoops his cum up afterwards getting you to suck his fingers clean.
d: dirty (a dirty secret of theirs)
Has a full album of all the nudes youâve ever sent him that he goes through whenever you arenât with him. He also loves watching you get yourself off - turns him on knowing you canât get your fingers deep enough like he can, seeing you get more frustrated that youâre just out of reach of where you need to be.
Really turns him on knowing heâs the one that took your virginity and no one else has been with you or seen you come apart the way he has. No one else knows your body and your reactions to certain touches.
Will fuck you awake if youâve fallen asleep before heâs home - itâs consensual, and he loves the power he has over you and watching you wake up as heâs claiming you
e: experience (how experienced are they?)
They were each others firsts so in the beginning it was awkward and rushed but as you grew together and got to know each others bodies he knows exactly how to touch you to have you finishing in 2 minutes if he really wants to.
f: favourite position
Cowgirl. Gets to see your tits bouncing in his face, can easily lean up to get your nipples in his mouth. Full view of your face as you cum on his cock too.
g: goofy (are they serious or humorous?)
Everything about Morgan is goofy - he doesnât have a serious bone in his body. Heâs not cracking jokes but he isnât serious at all, heâs a big tease. Sex is something soft familiar and casual with him - soft giggles when he kisses in a particularly tickly spot. At times he can be serious - if heâs in a bad mood or heâs feeling particularly dominant.
h: hair (how well groomed is he?)
He trims - keeps everything tidy. Heâs not really bothered cares more about your opinion than what he actually looks like down there.
i: intimacy (how are they during the moment?)
Focuses more on your pleasure than his own. Cares that you feel good and youâre having a good time. Doesnât believe in having sex without having you cum on his face at least once.
j: jack off (how often do they do it?)
Very very rarely. Since youâve lived together for so long heâs not really got to, if heâs away for a charity match/video ect he prefers phone sex so you can get off together - if thatâs not possible he has his trusty folder of your nudes.
k: kinks (what kinks do they have?)
Has a breeding kink - loves filling you up. Especially since being together for so long the idea of getting you pregnant really gets him going.
Choking/spanking - he knows you love his hands and he loves being in control. Likes having that power over you while also knowing youâre getting off on it just as much as he is.
Marking/possession - hand prints, bruises, hickeys. Loves seeing the aftermath of your session and knowing other people will see the fact youâre taken.
l: location (favourite location to do it)
Boring but in bed. No risk of being interrupted or caught. Feels safe and he doesnât have to rush like he does when he bends you over the bench or you ride him in his office.
m: motivation (what turns them on?)
Loves when youâre yourself - no makeup, not dressed up just big T-shirt and knickers legs on display. Added bonus if youâre wearing on of his shirts - especially a football shirt.
When youâre in a mood and being bitchy with him - wants to fuck the attitude out of you till youâre whining underneath him.
n: no (what they wouldn't do/ turn offs)
Anything that would hurt you - hell spank you and choke you but only to a certain extent. Heâs dominant and will tease but isnât into degradation at all - youâre everything to him so calling you names doesnât sit right with him at all.
o: oral (preference & skill)
He will have you cum on your face every time you have sex. If heâs feeling nice he can make you finish in two minutes. Heâs learned exactly how and were to lick and suck to push you over the edge but thatâs with years of experience - at first he wasnât the best and it was all fumbly and awkward.
Will never turn down a blowjob. Prefers giving to receiving as your pleasure gets him off but heâs simply a man. Loves seeing tears brim your eyes as you try take him all, big innocent eyes blinking up at him
p: pace
Steady and intentional- bases it on your reaction to his movements. Will speed up/slow down if thatâs what you want but heâs normally somewhere in the middle not too fast but not too slow. Doesnât want it to feel rushed
q: quickie (their opinions)
He prefers not to have them. If heâs going to have you he wants to take his time and really make you fall apart. He will if youâre going out with the girls and are wearing a particularly sexy outfit. Or now with him âlivingâ at the bov house part time heâll have you quickly and quietly so none of the other boys are aware
r: risks (do they take them?)
The biggest risk he takes is someone catching yous at the bov house when he canât keep his hands off you.
Car sex occasionally - only late at night to lessen the risk of being caught.
On a night out he will touch you up over your clothes, definitely kisses that shouldnât be had in public - especially if he notices another lad looking your way.
s: stamina
He can go 2-3 rounds every time you have sex. Stamina has definitely improved as heâs gotten healthier. He likes to draw out the pleasure you both feel during
t: toys (do they use them? if so how much?)
Heâs not opposed to them. I can see him buying you one of the app controlled vibrators heâd make you wear around the house and set off at random times of the day. Also see you buying him a clone-a-willy as a gag gift one year and he makes you use it on FaceTime when heâs not there.
u: unfair (opinions on teasing)
Heâs a big tease. Loves edging you - seeing the frustration build on your face each time he denies you of an orgasm. Definitely teases more in public when thereâs nowhere for you to go to get off, likes to build it up so when you get home he can ruin you
v: volume (how loud are they in the moment?)
Big on praise and talking you through it. After his stream yesterday I just know heâs a groaner, leaning down groaning into your neck when heâs close biting down on the junction between your neck and shoulder as he cums so heâs not loud.
w: wildcard (random headcanon)
Gets him going that youâre so public with your affection for him. Youâre open with finding him attractive and how active your sex life is - smug that itâs public knowledge he gets to fuck you and he does a good job at that
x: x-ray (what's going on beneath the belt?)
Morgan is a big boy, all over. Heâs slightly bigger than average. Girthier than average too. Slightly veiny too
y: yearning (how high is their sex drive?)
Higher than average - yous have sex at least 3 times a week. More often if you initiate cause he canât say no to you.
z: zzz (how quickly do they fall asleep after?)
Makes sure youâre okay before anything else, likes to try fall asleep after you but heâs so busy sometimes heâs out before he can stop himself.

The perfect number⌠Almost
Summary: You and Morgan find out youâre expecting baby number three
CW: mentions of throwing up
September was the bane of your existence since becoming a mum to children old enough for education.
Germs spread like wildfire through classrooms, and your two wild ones were so generous when sharing their illnesses with you.
You groaned as you stretched on a random Thursday morning, waking your muscles up ready to wrestle your wild things into their uniforms. Morgan had beaten you to the shower that morning - his side of the bed gone cold.
Your head was aching again today and nausea plagued your stomach. Full time influencing and motherhood left you no time to be under the weather. You gave your head a wobble as you sluggishly pulled on a fresh pair of leggings - opting for one of Morganâs oversized hoodies. A staple school run fit.
âTilly, Teddy. Good morning angelsâ you cooed as you walked into their shared bedroom. Sunlight was sneaking past the gap in the curtains making Matildaâs bedhead glow like molten lava.
Teddy blinked up at you, big emerald eyes glowing as he rubbed the sleepiness from them. A barely there smile graced his face. Tilly was much less accepting of your wake up call - turning her back to you snuggling under her Bluey duvet. Determined to sleep the morning away, truly a carbon copy of your husband.
You rubbed her back gently prizing the blanket from her grasp. âTilly baby, itâs morning timeâ.
Teddy stumbled over to you, plopping himself in your lap as you sat by Matildaâs bed.
âFive more minutes mummyâ she groaned, words muffled as sheâd squished her face into her pillow.
Rolling your eyes you turned your attention to Teddy, giving him a big squeeze. âAre you ready to get your uniform on big lad?â
He nodded up at you before running to his drawers where you always left his clothes on a nighttime - anything to make mornings run smoothly.
Teddy was four years old but still required assistance dressing himself and you were clinging on to every last bit of his babyhood - you and Morgan had decided all those years ago two was a perfect number. If youâd had anymore they could gang up and revolt against yous⌠it was said in jest by Morgan but in the back of your mind the idea did terrify you - not being able to give equal attention to your children. Two worked perfect. And you had one of each.
A mini Morgan and a mini reader.
Once youâd finished sorting Ted you turned to see your husband with your daughter hoisted on his hip. He was speaking gently into her ear as she rested her head on his shoulder. Eyes blurry with sleep, fist tight in her fatherâs shirt as she slowly fought the sleep off.
âOh so youâll wake up for daddy will you?â You tickled her soft tummy as you joked with her, smiling as she let out a breathy giggle. âYou okay to sort her while I do Tedâs teeth and make breakfast?â
Waving you off Morgan replied affirmative, reaching for Matildaâs pinafore and sitting on the edge of the bed.
Brushing your teeth had the back of your throat burning, nausea attacking you tenfold. You swallowed it down, splashed your face with cold water and took a few deep breaths. Yeah, new terms were the WORST.
Once back from dropping off the kids you finally sat down on the sofa. Feet up. Eyes closed. Whatever lurgy the kids had brought home had you wiped out, you hadnât been this tired since Teddy went through his sleep regression phase - waking up needing you every hour for a cuddle. It had to be you, daddy wouldnât do.
Morgan came in carrying your cup of tea, two sugars and a dash of milk, placed it down beside you and lifted your legs before sitting down and placing them on his lap.
âYou alright darlinââ he paused ânot being funny but you look like shiteâ
An unimpressed look was shot his way for the comment. âCheers dickhead, Love you tooâ
His cheeky smile was aimed at you, his hand repeatedly stroking from knee to ankle and back again.
âFeel like shitâ you moaned, letting your head fall back on the armrest. âMy heads killing, Iâm Teddy age two level exhausted, my stomach is in bits and to top it off my tits are aching - think Iâm due on my period againâ
Silence stretched on after your little complaint. Morgan didnât stop his ministrations on your calf - he added a squeeze to your knee in sympathy.
The smell of your brew hit you then making you jump to your feet and rush to the loo. Unloading the contents of your stomach into the bowl. Morgan dropping quickly behind you, pulling your hair away from your face, free hand rubbing your back.
Wiping a clammy hand over your face you pulled your head away from the toilet letting out a shaky sigh. You let your weight fall against Morgan, sweat glistening on your body.
âLast time we were in this position you had our little Teddy cooking awayâ Morgan laughed, running soothing hands from your shoulder to elbow.
You froze at that.
Heâs right. You get nauseous when youâre sick. You NEVER actively throw up.
Except during your pregnancies.
When was your last period? Running around after a seven and four year old kept you so busy you didnât remember.
You peered up at him. Face ghost white, body trembling, panicked gaze desperately searching for his.
âDid I say something wrong?â
Morganâs soothing patterns stilled. âNo⌠waitâdo we have any pregnancy tests left?â
âWhat? Youâre pregnant?â His grin broke into full-blown excitement, eyes bright, glistening.
âI canât remember my last period. Iâm being sick. My boobs hurtâ you rattled off your symptoms, biting your lip, heart hammering in your ribcage.
Morgan gently eased you off his chest as he reached into the bathroom cabinet - finding the just incase test you kept there since Tilly decided to give you the surprise of your lives.
You snatched the box from him. Quickly urinating on the stick before placing it down beside you.
Four years on and these three minutes still dragged on for a lifetime.
Nodding towards Morgan once the three minutes finally passed you waited with bated breath for him to tell you your results.
Words werenât needed. Tears were bubbling on his lash line and a Cheshire Cat grin graced his face.
âBaby number three?â You questioned anyways. Your own smile breaking free on your face.
âWeâre officially out numbered darlinââ
The joy was contagious - more contagious than the germs spreading through the school.
âI canât wait to tell the kids!! Teddy is going to be all over you reader. And Tilda is going to go allllll big sister mode againâ He beamed at you before his smile dropped slightly - âWait are we prepared for more Barbie pregnancies?â
You let out a squawk of laughter, almost falling into him. His arms wrapped around your waist, steady and warm, swaying you gently.
âSo two isnât the perfect number then, eh?â You teased, big lashes fluttering up at him.
âAlmost enough for a 6 a side now darlinâ. Burtwistle FCâ he chuckled littering soft kisses on your head.
You closed your eyes, one hand dropping to your stomach. Butterflies fluttering inside - obviously not you baby yet, you werenât far enough along.
âAre we really doing this again?â you whispered, half in disbelief, half in awe.
âWe are,â Morgan murmured, tightening his embrace. âAnd I wouldnât want to do it with anyone else.â
You laughed, a little breathless, a little teary, and let yourself just feel it - the overwhelming, messy, beautiful certainty that your family was growing, and that however wild life got, youâd face it together. The way you always had.
Growing pains (and playground weddings)
Summary: Matilda comes home from school with some exciting news to share with her dad. Morgan struggles with accepting his baby girl is growing up. Or Tilly gets her first boyfriend at six years old.
Parenthood was the greatest adventure Morgan and you had ever embarked on.
Matilda had come as a great surprise to the pair of you six years ago - inheriting her fatherâs fiery attitude and copper curls although her eyes and smile was all you.
Theodore came almost three years later, not as much of a shock as his older sister. His hair wasnât as bright as Tilly or Morganâs but he still unmistakingly got the ginger gene from your husband. Teddy had Morganâs striking blue eyes as well, thankfully he didnât inherit his dadâs sass - he was much more laid back like you were.
Morgan slowed down streaming after you welcomed your baby girl - once she started school he timed his streams for school hours or after the night time routine.
The pair of you knew nothing was stopping that man talking to his twitch chat.
Morgan was currently streaming as you were on the school run. He barely registered the sound of cheeky giggles and shoes being kicked off at the door before his children were storming into his office for attention.
Nothing could stop the grin overtaking his face as he heard âdaddy!â Being exclaimed in the over excited voices. Two gap toothed smiles glowing in his direction as his babies rushed towards him.
He was positively beaming. Pearly whites on display to all the viewers watching from home. There was no hiding his joy when he finally got reunited with his babies after a long day of school.
âHello Tilly, Teddy!!â His arms stretched towards them for a cuddle, completely disregarding his twitch. âhow was school eh?â
Jumping up excitedly - not even acknowledging you as you made your way into the room - Tilda started animatedly talking about what sheâd learned in class.
â- AND daddy Iâve got a boyfriend now!! Weâre going to get married on Friday at the parents day picnic!!â
Morganâs smile faltered, confusion flickering across his face like he was praying heâd misheard her.
Teddy mustâve noticed the tension as he made his way to you, arms outstretched making grabby hands up at you. You swung him onto your hip, biting your lip to hold in the giggles threatening to escape.
âA boyfriend?!?â His eyes met yours, searching for backup you werenât going to give - to amused by what was occurring.
âYouâre too young for a boyfriend Tilly - we agreed youâd wait until you were 40â
Tilly furrowed her brows at her dad - confused to why he wasnât celebrating her amazing news with her.
Arms cross over her chest, she rolled her eyes full of exasperation Matilda huffed at her father.
âDaddy, I told you Iâm getting married you have to be happy for meâ
Looking at his baby girl he knew he was about two seconds away from her stomping her feet and telling him he was no longer his best friend.
No parenting book or online article prepared him for this.
âWell princess, who is this boyfriend?â
Massive grin returning to her face Tilda started bouncing on the balls of her feet - unable to contain her excited energy.
The exact same way your Morgan did when he got good news.
âHis name is Max!! He said he liked my drawing of the big dragon I showed you yesterday!â Her words jumbling together, so excited to tell her story to Morgan. âAND at lunch time he even gave me one of his Jaffa cakes!â
Reluctantly Morgan smiled at her.
âWow thatâs great Tillyâ
She beamed up at him. Glad he was finally making sense again. Morganâs eyes sought yours out, landing on you swaying with his baby boy - from what seemed to be his only baby now as Tilda had gone from six to sixteen in one school day.
He slowly made his way over to you, hand ruffling Matildaâs hair as he passed her before snatching Teddy from your arms. Cradling him to his chest as if squeezing him tight will keep him this small forever.
âYouâre still my baby right Ted?â.
Your laugh bubbled out of you then, Morgan and your miniâs soon joining in.
âSheâs still our baby Morgan, she doesnât really know what a boyfriend is - theyâre just colouring in together at schoolâ you giggled towards him, rubbing soothing patterns into his shoulder to console him.
âACTUALLY mummy - â Matilda interrupted, eyes rolling back, head tilted to the side looking every bit a miniature longer haired version of your husband rather than a sweet little six year old.
âMax is my boyfriend - we hold hands and he lets me have first pick of the toys at golden hour so weâre getting married!!â
Once again the colour drained from Morganâs face. âYA WHAT?â
You cackled. Unable to control yourself.
âYou canât hold hands with boys Matilda Julie Burtwistle!! I thought boys were smelly anywaysâ
âBoys are smelly daddyâ she informed you all. âBut max is a nice boy! Heâs funny AND heâs nice to meâ
Sensing the fiery redheads about to have a sass off you sent the kids off to play, watching them run off down the corridor before gesturing for Morgan to sit back on his gaming chair.
His chat was spamming the stream, like you they found the whole situation hilarious - Morganâs reaction even more so.
He faced his camera. Shellshocked expression staining his face. Usual red cheeks pale and eyes wide, unblinking.
âWhen I asked you out you said you liked me because I was funnyâ
There was no hiding the devastation in his tone. You sat down on his lap, arms looping around his neck as he wallowed.
âLast night I put her to bed as my baby girl, how has she come home as a fully grown child with a boyfriend⌠SHES HOLDING BOYS HANDS READER!!â
You let him rant, knowing stopping him was no use. Having been together so long you know Morganâs not the type to keep his frustrations bottled up.
âWhat do we even know about this kid anyway? Other than the fact heâs not good enough for our Tillyâ
âMorgan!â You scolded him. âTheyâre six⌠they have no idea what a relationships is. Besides arenât you happy that to her having a boyfriend is a boy putting her first and making her laugh?â
Letting out a long sigh Morgan rubbed his temples before dropping his head back against the headrest of his chair.
âReader sheâs going to be dating soon. No one prepared me for thisâ
You rolled your eyes fondly at him, pressing a kiss to his temple.
âHow many times do I have to remind you sheâs six babe? No real boyfriends for a long timeâ
That seemed to placate him slightly as his head was upright once more, fingers kneading the fat of your thighs.
âYou donât need to prepare for anything - sheâs growing up. She will one day bring a boy home and you will be nice to him when she eventually does in years to comeâ
He looked towards his chat, praying at least someone was on his side in this.
No luck - they were roasting him just as much as you.
âJust remember babe - she trusts you with whatâs the most exciting news in the world for her. She thinks a boyfriend means someone making her laugh and smile - she learned that from how she sees you treat meâ you told him softly.
Slowly rising you your feet you left another gentle kiss on Morganâs forehead before making your way to the children to play and get after school snacks sorted before tea.
Morgan looked towards his computer, grumbling under his breath about six year olds growing to fast.
âItâs my fault to be fair chatâ he admitted ââcourse she was going to be a proper heartbreaker - she takes after her dadâ. Jokingly flexing his biceps towards the camera.
He continued on with the stream, smiling softly as Tilly and Teddyâs joyous laughter filled the silence from the play room. Your dramatic voice filling in for one of their action figure causing them to laugh even harder. Mic unmuted - full unfiltered dad life.
His baby was growing up way too fast - but for now she was still his baby Matilda, boyfriend or no boyfriend.
ginges mrs pregnancy headcannons?
Iâve already wrote a fic about them finding out - tempted to add onto it with telling people, gender reveal & bringing Tilda home if people want that?
BUT general HCâs I have for them;
đ First pregnancy is a happy surprise, they arenât married yet but are happy to start a family regardless.
đ ginge goes into full protective mode the second she starts bloating - not even a real bump yet. princess treatment only. Wonât let the boys be too chaotic around her incase they hurt the precious cargo
đ Cry the first time he feels Tilda kick - canât believe sheâs actually carrying his baby. From then on if sheâs in the same room guaranteed his hand is on the bump just incase.
đ Hormones are wild - first trimester theyâre at it like bunnies. He gets angry at a game? Sheâs bouncing on it. Fresh out the shower? Prepare to need another one soon sir. Has to stop wearing the ballers league suit around her or heâs missing his train. As the weeks go on and she grows and gets more uncomfortable horniness turns to bitchiness - arguing about everything he canât even breathe near her without her yelling. Yelling turns to crying because she feels bad.
đ First outfit bought is obviously a yanited kit - he still is adamant it will be the first outfit she wears post birth.
đ He talks to the baby at night once he finds out babies can hear from the womb and can recognise voices once born
đ The boys making jokes about Morgan being a sex addict increase massively once they find out
đ Goes to every antenatal appointment with her, they both cry the first time they hear the heartbeat and see the sonogram.
đ Has a teddy with the babies heartbeat in, keeps it in his streaming set up so his baby girls always with him. He also buys one for his mum and nan since itâs the first (great) grandchild
đ Announcement includes spike wearing one of them bandanas saying heâs getting a baby sibling, the two of you behind him holding up a scan photo and digital pregnancy test
đ 100% tries all of her pregnancy cravings with her. Even the gross ones like chilli cheese bites from bk dipped in mcds chocolate milkshake or pickles with Nutella (both craved by my sister during pregnancy - both revoltingđ¤Ł)
đ Will later complain about it on stream but is up when cravings hit in the middle of the night, driving all over manny to find a open shop that sells the right ice cream
đ OBSESSED with the pregnancy boobs. If sheâs not wearing a turtle neck donât attempt conversation his eyes are on her tits and nothing else is in his mind - cannot hear a thing
đ could never say no to his Mrs anyway but his Mrs actively growing his child? Lost cause even pretending to have a back bone
đ Buys the top of the range pram, cot, breast pump ect. Budget doesnât exist where his baby girls concerned
đ goes to his mam for advice about everything. Heâs terrified of messing up so the littlest things heâs got her on the phone. Is this pain normal? Can she eat curry or will it be too spicy for the baby? Will the baby be scared if she hears him shouting when heâs streaming? No matter how stupid hes asking.

Hello Nonnie đ
**MDNI**
Just thinking about Morgan waking you up with his fingers buried inside of you. Lips trailing across your neck down past your shoulder and finally finding home between your tits. Hearing your arousal squelching around his fingers egging him on even more. Shaky moans escaping you as your high approaches, his fingers speeding up - thumb finding your clit. His hot breath making goosebumps prickle along your chest and arms. Free hand making its way to your nipple, twisting it between his fingers knowing exactly how to move to push you over the edge.
