Wait…not wanting to ship two same sexed people together romantically isn’t homophobic. There is a difference between the chemistry in bros and lovers and its up to personal interpretation of the fan if its not canon to descide upon the relationship status. I ship sherlock and john romantically but other fans my and do have a different view. Stop with hating and calling people things that there not for not agreeing with your personal views. Have a go at real homophobes who are really mean.

Except desperately wanting a character to be straight and aggressively talking over queer people who have spoken out on the importance of not interpreting “not gay” as “straight” and on why they interpret John as bi IS homophobic? This has literally nothing to do with shipping, I couldn’t care less whether or not people ship Sherlock and John, this has to do with the fact that people are DESPERATE for characters to be straight (when queer people are already severely underrepresented) and actively try to invalidate the alternative interpretations of queer people (especially when they shame young women specifically in the process).

I don’t ship Sherlock and John because John has already said he isn’t gay and ok that’s fine I won’t make assumptions otherwise because if he were a real person and people kept telling him “YOU ARE DEFINITELY 100% ALL AROUND GAY AS HECK” that would be disrespectful to his current identity as heterosexual and we don’t want to be trash someone’s sexual orientation now do we???
