florence couldn’t believe her eyes, when she had come back she just assumed that willow was long gone and didn’t even think of the possibility of her being here. but there she was, flesh and blood standing before her and the redhead could feel her heart hammering in her chest. when the other reached out, willow took hold of her hand and let her fingers find the spaces between willows. “you are without a doubt the best thing i’ve come to discover in this time.” she said quietly, the details didn’t matter right now.

Willow, who had been guarded for the last 100 and some years, broke down. The second the girls fingers laced her own, it wasn’t enough. Willow pulled Flo into her arms and cried. She wasn’t sure how long they stayed like that, but it didn’t feel long. The time they had lost, just maybe they could make up for that now. “I came here to look for you.”

💨 ― “I don’t know about best, but I do know a place. They like to go all out.”

“Well are you going to keep it a secret or tell me?”

🌒️ ― Hope’s fangs slowly retracted, her golden gaze slowly dragged from their neck over to the girl. “No one deserves this,” she said coolly. “Life isn’t so fair.” 

“Oh you don’t have to tell me that, I’m well aware.” Willow crossed her arms. “Listen, I get it, I’m not here to judge.” She let the veins under her eyes show for just a minute, enough to let the other girl in on her secret. “I like to feed just as much as the next vampire, but when I do I make sure my food deserves what I do to them.”

“It is a city known for it’s parties, so I am sure that is possible,” she agreed. “Oh, a job. I’m a teacher. So the night life isn’t something I can enjoy all the time, but on occasion I give in to some dancing and having fun.”

“Teacher, that’s admirable.” She nodded. “My temper is not good enough to deal with a bunch of students. You definitely deserve to have some fun occasionally.”

“You are asking the wrong person. I am still new to New Orleans and know very little about the party scene. Perhaps one of the bars or pubs?”

Willow nodded. “It’s New Orleans after all. I’m sure we can find something.” She said with a small smile. “What brought you here?”

“I have no idea” The witch shrugged “I am guessing the french quarter, or whatever people may call it. I have noticed it can be pretty wild there on the weekends” She had been out there among the crowd a few times when it was parties, but she would not go into that. Her eyes rolled a little “Might always be someone who has a party”

“Hm. Maybe I should a party then.” She thought about the idea. “Not that I have any friends, but with the way social media is today I’m sure I could get a few guests.”

Kamelya shrugged; parties weren’t her usual scene when she was a human and when she was in her maniac vampire phase her parties tended to end with a body count and the burning smell of bleach the following morning. But now that she was trying to live a somewhat normal life maybe she should try to fit in a little more and act like a normal teenage college student. “I heard there’s a college frat party that’s supposed to be the place to be if that’s your scene.”

Willow nodded, thinking about it. “Maybe. I don’t really have scene. I just like to have some fun every now and then.” A new year didn’t really mean much to a vampire.

florence was stunned, she didn’t know what to do or what to say for a moment. everything in this world was different, new, so many things she had no idea how to deal with and so much confusion but she was finally seeing a familiar face. one she hadn’t expected to but was so glad she did. “hi.” she said back, taking a step closer but she didn’t want to invade her space after all it had been nearly two centuries, or maybe she had just come back as well. “did you- were you resurrected, too?”

Willow shook her head, she too taking a step forward as if the other girl were a magnet. “I, no. I turned.” Willow bit her lip. “I’ll explain it all, I promise, but right now…” Willow took another step. “I need to know that you’re okay.” Florence was the only reason the girl was in this city. She looked through the crowds for days hoping to see her again. Willow reached out her hand, letting the other decide if she wanted to take it.

it had been a rough few weeks to say the least, trying to gain her footing in a new time and try to figure out the best way to learn about her dad without freaking him out or pushing and making him feel like he owed her anything. she was just leaving the diner she had gotten a job in to pay for the shitty motel she had been staying in when she was walking down the street, her emerald hues fell on someone - a someone she hadn’t seen in nearly two centuries and felt her breath get taken from her lungs. “will..” she said softly, was it possible she was back again too after all this time? slowly one foot in front of the other she went closer, seeing the woman that not only had been her best friend but had hold of her heart for most of her teen years and through the last breaths she took. 

Willow had heard the stories of the dead popping up in New Orleans, supernatural creatures of decades coming back. She hadn’t wanted to get her hopes up but she’d be lying if she said she wasn’t in the city for the soul purpose of looking for the girl that now stood right in front of her. It felt like her heart was going to explode. She had thought about what she would say to Flo if she had the chance to ever see her again, but right now all words escaped her. “Hi…” she managed to say softly and she silently kicked herself for such a stupid first thing to say.
