They sing to her, and talk about birthday celebrations they could have. And despite the fact that Adaine is in jail, and has been in jail for weeks, and things really aren’t looking good— It’s kind of the best birthday she’s ever had

The Bad Kids!

Big note: I am NOT trying to directly role swap here, mostly trying to make each have their own story in the respective universe :]

Aguefort in the wilderness

For the Fantasy high cast, I’m gonna include the Bad Kids plus the Rat Grinders, and extras like Tracker Antler Queens

Kristen (a bit like Lottie; a semi-willing prophet)

Kipperlilly (A lot like Shauna; willingly and cruel)

Fig (a bit like Nat; only willing at first, not at all cruel like Klck but also not rooted in spirituality like Kristen)

Bad Kids

Riz stays VERY pragmatic and logic based for as long as he can (like a mix between Misty and Tai) but eventually the isolation paired with people slowly turning to the wilderness makes him lash out and get on a lot of people’s bad sides near the end of the first winter

I think Gorgug is a little similar to Riz in that he eventually just breaks, but I do think for him it ends much more severely… I can see him initially getting on with the wilderness stuff only until the hunts start getting deadly, and then he completely rages at one of the bigger wilderness followers (thinking Fabian) and during the confrontation, someone (thinking Kristen, Fig, or Riz) gets pretty severely hurt while trying to stop Gorgug from hurting Fabian

I don’t know why but I feel like Fabian would be one of the first wilderness acolytes (like Van maybe), not because he truly believes, but because he wants to believe in his friends and sees it as one of the only things bringing some semblance of peace to the growing tension of their bleak survival

Adaine is the first to get “visions” from the wilderness, but unlike Lottie, she completely rejects it and is pretty terrified of it— after long enough of it happening though, Kristen convinces her that it could be something that helps them and leads them out. Kristen though later feels bad for sparking this upon seeing how the group ends up using it as a vice for violence (much like Lottie’s reaction to Javi’s death)

Kristen and Tracker = Van and Tai’s relationship, with werewolf Tracker being Other Tai

Rat Grinders

Kipperlilly and Lucy directly to Shauna + Jackie’s death- nothing to change there, the parallels are insane

Mary Ann silently follows the wilderness, becoming quietly much more devoted than anyone notices, but she’s also FIERCELY devoted to the idea that it’s trying to help them, and is really operating mostly on protecting the people around her, even if it means blood

Oisin, Ivy, Adaine, and Riz try and travel to find people/ civilization in the summer, but the group is attacked by wolves and Ivy gets really fucked up (what happened to Van). Oisin feels at fault for it because he was supposed to be keeping watch (no “other Tai” stuff here, he just fell asleep)

The Cabin Kids (the Bad Kids)

Members: Nat (tiefling ranger), Van (human paladin), Lottie (aasimar wizard/ cleric), Mari (high elf sorcerer), Akilah (satyr druid), Laura Lee (aasimar cleric)

They met at a summer camp in middle school, and after everyone had already chosen their parties day 1, they got placed together and realized they all stayed in the same cabin, earning them the party name “Cabin Kids”

Nat, like Fig, was born elven, though she knew her father and knew he was a tiefling, so for a while she just assumed she didn’t express any tiefling traits. As she gets into Freshman year though, she starts to resent her now prominent and un-ignorable tiefling heritage bc of her dad

Laura Lee (she’s a year above the rest of the party) is initially placed into their party after she transferred, but it’s only a temporary thing for her to help ‘tutor’ Lottie in cleric classes, as she’s only at Aguefort for a short period of time before graduating and taking an internship with a professional adventuring party.

^^^ Laura Lee saw pretty quickly that Lottie didn’t need a tutor, she just needed people to stop heckling her abt her deity, though, she also grew quite the soft spot for Lottie, seeing as they’re both aasimars (of quite differing heritage though)

The events of sophomore year happen with Kristen and the unicorn, but this au it’s Lottie with an undead deer (callback to the buck with bloodied antlers from s1)

The Wilderness Hunters (the Rat Grinders)

Members: Shauna (barbarian), Misty (gnome rogue), Melissa (wood elf fighter/ cleric), Jackie (bard), Tai (werewolf fighter/ bloodhunter)

Jackie started the party, and she made the name after they started training in the woods

Jackie eventually though, dies Lucy Frostblade style at the hands of the party… THIS TIME THOUGH she actually comes back (sort of) as a ghost and haunts the party, but mostly Shauna

As the canon typical FH tensions increase, I think at some point Lottie ends up switching parties and joining the Wilderness Hunters bc of her deity (the wilderness)

^^^ opposite of this, Tai initially joins the Wilderness Hunters after transferring to Aguefort, but after seeing what they’re doing, switches parties to the Cabin Kids

During the final battle (Porter + w. Hunters vs. The cabin kids) I think Nat ends up killing Lottie
